Unforgettable love

Chapter 111

Chapter 111:noveldrama

Matthew raised his hand and looked at the time. It had been about fourteen hours since the incident, he hurried.

He knew Sampson would never be able to achieve his purpose so it was to be expected that he would target the people he cared most about.

He held the phone in his hands, thinking slowly.

Not hearing Matthew’s voice, Samuel became a little worried. After all, Sampson was at home, so he couldn’t dare say anything to Jessica, in case she couldn’t keep it a secret and accidentally let it slip at the wrong time. It wouldn’t do for Sampson to find out.

“Should I call the police?” asked Samuel.

Matthew looked at Dolores for a moment, “Police? Why?”

Samuel was speechless.

Now they had no proof, that video could never be released. Anyway, they were only seen in a small part of the video, that didn’t explain much.

“So what then?” Samuel asked anxiously.

Matthew leaned nonchalantly on the table, rubbing the edge of it with his fingers and pondered a bit. Then he asked, “Do you want to avenge your mom?”

“Yes.” Samuel said without the slightest hesitation.

“Even if you put yourself in danger?”.

Samuel was a little surprised, but quickly understood what Matthew meant, “You’re asking me to follow Sampson. By the time he takes us, we can have the evidence that he has broken the law. We wouldn’t have to involve Mom.”

As shameless as Sampson was, if something like this became public, Dolores’ reputation was going to be damaged, too.

Matthew looked into Dolores’ eyes, her expressions becoming more and more abstruse.

Samuel was really sharp.

He understood what she wanted very quickly.

“I dare.” Samuel said boldly, “But…”

Samuel rolled his eyes and closed his mouth again.

If Mom found out that Matthew was using them as bait, she sure was going to be mad, wasn’t she? He thought.

“But what?” Matthew asked.

“Nothing.” Samuel decided to keep quiet.

“You have to pretend you don’t know anything, behave as usual, don’t let him doubt you. Keep the location open on your phone and leave the rest to me.”

“Okay.”

Samuel understood what he was supposed to do.

After hanging up the phone, Matthew pressed a button on the landline to call Abbott at his office.

Soon Abbott knocked on the door.

Matthew told him to come in, pushed open the door, and walked toward Matthew.

Matthew said a few words to him in a low voice. After hearing Matthew’s words, Abbott looked at Dolores. Was she going to be angry if she found out about this?

After all her children were in danger.

“Understood!”

“Don’t make any mistakes, you go personally.”

“Okay.”

Dolores picked up a financial magazine and leafed through it. She wasn’t interested in reading it, but she was bored and wanted to pass the time.

She couldn’t disturb Matthew while he was dealing with Abbott.

When Abbott came out, Matthew asked, “Do you want to see if they’re done talking or not?”

He was referring to Armand and Terry.

“Okay.” Dolores got up and took off her coat.

Her skirt was thin and the air conditioning was on in the office, so she was dry.

Matthew raised his hand to her shoulder, Dolores avoided him, “If you do this again, I’ll be angry.”

She made a long face.

The current relationship was neither here nor there; it was very unclear.

If someone was watching her from the outside, they wouldn’t know what was going on.

Matthew didn’t force it, he wasn’t in a hurry, there was time.

Armand and Terry were in the reception room. It was a short walk from Matthew’s office through the office space.

Pushing open the door to the meeting room, Dolores was taken aback by the sight of the reception room. The interior decor here was completely different from Matthew’s office. The dark table and chairs gave the room a quiet feeling. The right side of the room was completely open and fixed with a glass wall that made the room brightly lit. Every little piece of decoration was high class, even the drinking glasses looked valuable.

Dolores probably also understood that, after all, this room was used to receive guests and discuss with them. This room was to represent the company well.

Seeing Dolores, Terry quickly stood up, he had felt somewhat uncomfortable.

Dolores motioned to him not to be nervous.

“How did the talk go?” Matthew pulled up a chair to sit down.

Armand ignored him and stared at Dolores with his chin up.

He looked at her from head to toe and then up again.

He curved his lips, “Have you always liked someone like that, didn’t you used to like women like Helen, did your tastes change?”

Armand knew Helen, knew her past relationship with Matthew and also knew that she was now the daughter of the Herbert Family. He knew she had changed her name, but he didn’t want to address her by a different name, so he continued to use her old name.

“The difference is a little big.” It was clear that Dolores and Helen were not the same type.

Matthew kept his cool and just looked at him coldly as he talked to himself.

Armand also got bored with him rather quickly and dropped his careless act and said earnestly, “You have to help in this matter.

If the other party was an ordinary person, it would have been easy to do so, but the other party is someone with a background, status and prestige.

So it was not that simple. To make an ironclad case, help was needed.

Matthew had already devised a countermeasure.

He leaned back in his chair, tapping his fingers gently on the table rhythmically, as if he were thinking about something.

Armand knew he was thinking, so he stopped talking. He stood up, approached Dolores with a smile and introduced himself, “Let me introduce myself first. My name is Armand. I’m the owner of DC Law Firm. You can call me by my first name.” Dolores looked at him not knowing what to say.

Terry’s mouth dropped open in an ‘o’ shape.

“Are you the owner of the DC Law Firm?” Terry asked her after a long moment. He hadn’t known he was from the DC Law Firm and that he was the famous lawyer who had never lost a case.

He had only heard of him, but had never met him.

“Today I met the real you.” said Terry excitedly.

This time I can avenge my brother. He thought to himself.

“What the hell do you mean by the real you? Have you met a fake me?” replied Armand.

Terry waved his hands hastily and explained, “No, no. I meant that I adore you. I meant I adore you.”

Armand stood up straighter, straightening his shirt collar, which was not wrinkled at all, and said proudly, “That’s better!”

Terry laughed.

Dolores quietly took a step away, not wanting to get involved in their conversation.

Armand’s sharp eyes spotted her and he took a step to the left to stop her. “How do I address you? If you hadn’t divorced Matthew, I’d call you sister-in-law.”

Rubbing her chin with her fingers, she looked at Matthew and said meaningfully,

“Actually, I can still call you that now…”

“Just call me Dolores.” Dolores interrupted him.

Armand smiled, “It’s not very appropriate.”

“It’s completely appropriate.” replied Dolores.

She didn’t want to be called strangely.

“Then may I call you Lola?”

At that moment, the black ink pen on the table fell to the floor with a loud clatter.

That pen belonged to Armand and he used it to write down the details of the case as Terry told him.

Armand looked at the pen blankly.

Matthew approached, with quiet, steady steps. As he passed Armand, he said lightly, “Sorry, I dropped the pen by accident.”

Armand, “…”

That pen was very precious to him; it had been given to him by his last girlfriend.

Matthew took Dolores’ hand, “We should go now.”

“Where to?” said Dolores inexplicably.

“You’ll know when you get there.”

Armand was stunned for several seconds.

Then he reacted and shouted toward Matthew’s back, “Are you a child? Why would you do such a naive thing?” Matthew ignored him completely.

Lola?

Even he hadn’t called her that! Matthew thought.

Armand’s mouth twitched.

In the car.

“Are we going to see Mom?” Simona was sitting on Jessica’s lap, but she kept looking out the car window, curious about the passing scenery.

Sampson, who was driving the car, turned around and comforted her, “Yes, Mom will be there too. I called her.”

Samuel looked at Sampson and snorted inwardly at the sight of her deceiving the girl.

“Really?” Simona was so excited because she wanted to see Mom.
