Chapter 112
Chapter 112:noveldrama
Simona smiled, showing a row of small white teeth.
“Really!”
Sampson looked at Samuel, who hadn’t spoken so far, and asked, “Samuel, why aren’t you talking?”
Samuel looked distressed, “I’m in a bad mood.”
“You’re a kid! What’s ruining your mood?” Jessica said, “Didn’t your mommy give you back your smartwatch and tablet? What else do you need to cheer you up? Why are you pulling my clothes?”
Samuel wanted to stop Jessica but she didn’t understand.
“You… stop talking and let my uncle see me like this.” Samuel quickly organized his words, but saying the word ‘uncle’ made him nauseous.
That inhuman beast was not worthy to be called his uncle.
“Samuel, show me your smartwatch. I’ve forgotten what it looked like.”
Sampson had deliberately tipped his teacup over Jessica’s phone. Soaked in water, it had gone out. Jessica hadn’t brought it.
She looked specifically at Samuel’s wrist, who hadn’t brought anything either.
She could not allow Samuel to contact Dolores.
Samuel’s eyes flickered, “That…I forgot to bring it.”
Sampson knew Samuel was smart, and his eyes clearly showed only a hint of guilt.
What was he feeling guilty about?
Sampson narrowed his eyes. Jessica’s reaction was normal, she wasn’t looking out for him, which meant Dolores hadn’t told her what had happened.
Without even telling Jessica, Dolores would never have told the two five-year-olds.
She pulled her phone out of her pocket and dialed Samuel’s number.
Soon the sound of a doorbell rang in the car.
Sampson clearly recognized this sound.
It was from Samuel’s smartwatch.
Samuel tried to reach his pocket in time, but it was too late.
“Samuel, why did you lie to your uncle? You forgot that I bought this smarwatch for you. I programmed it specially, so that when I or your mommy call you, it will ring even if it’s on silent.”
Samuel only remembered when the smartwatch had already beeped.
How could he forget something so important?
Samuel hung his head in annoyance, “I… I didn’t want to show you.”
He lowered his head so Sampson couldn’t see his expression.
“I remember that this smartwatch also has tracking enabled. At the time, I was afraid you’d get lost.”
“Yes.” Samuel sensed something was wrong and tried to call Matthew.
Suddenly, Sampson parked the car on the side of the road and turned to look at Samuel, “Who do you want to call?”
“I didn’t make any calls.” Samuel panicked, dropping his smartwatch. This one fell face up, displaying the words ‘Heartless Guy’.
This was Samuel’s nickname for Matthew.
In his opinion, he abandoned his mother and them. He was a heartless guy.
Even if they had a cooperative relationship now, it didn’t mean she forgave him.
Sampson bent down and picked it up, looking at the name on it, and asked, “Who is it?”
Beads of sweat appeared on Samuel’s forehead as he spoke nervously, “My teacher, he likes to take care of me, so I gave him a nickname.”
Sampson knew that he used to study at AC University and had a professor, so he no longer doubted him.
“This smartwatch is too old, it’s time to change it.” After saying so, he pulled the square electric plate out of it.
The screen went dark.
“No, I don’t want to change it.” Samuel reached out to take it, but Sampson easily avoided it.
Jessica realized that Sampson’s behavior was very strange. “The smartwatch is still usable.”
Sampson tossed the smartwatch into the small river not far from the road. His car had already reached the outskirts of town.
Jessica asked him why they were so far out of town.
Sampson said that the place he had booked was a farm that was outside of town.
Only then did Jessica’s doubts dissipate.
“After lunch, when I go back to the supermarket, I’ll buy you a new one. This one was too old and a lot of things would have stopped working.”
“It looked great and it just rang. It did work.” Jessica vaguely noted Sampson’s oddity.
“I’ll buy him another one.” Sampson started the car and drove back toward the highway.
Suddenly, Samuel grabbed the hem of Sampson’s shirt, “I want to go home.”
“We’ll be there soon, why do you want to go home?” Sampson had no intention of stopping.
“I…I…” Samuel’s brain was working too fast. He needed to find a reason. Suddenly he had an idea, he grabbed his stomach and yelled, “My stomach hurts, I want to go to the bathroom.”
“There is no bathroom here, please hold it a little.”
“No, I can’t hold it any longer.” Samuel curled up in the back seat, looking very pained.
“Doctor Herbert, you should stop for a bit. Samuel is in pain.” Jessica placed Simona in the seat and reached over to hug Samuel, placing a hand on his stomach.
“Have you eaten something cold, is it diarrhea?”
Jessica’s heart broke with worry.
“Maybe…” Samuel was shaking in pain, he looked extremely sore, “I’m about to die in pain, I want to go to the bathroom.”
On the other side, Dolores climbed into Matthew’s car, still thinking his behavior was strange. She asked, “Where are you taking me?”.
“I just got a call from your son at the office…”
Suddenly, his phone vibrated and interrupted him. He looked at the caller ID, saw it was Abbott and picked it up.
Abbott’s voice rang out immediately, “The tracker suddenly went dead.” Matthew suddenly felt nervous-how could this be?
Had Sampson found out?
“Where was the last location before it shut down?”
“Near the Dingqiao Bridge.”
“Where is it now?”
“I’m going there right now.”
Matthew thought calmly for two seconds, and told him to gather some people and go check that location.
Dingqiao Bridge was already far away from the city, and that place was relatively remote. He speculated that the place Sampson was going to must be nearby.
“Check if there is a hideout nearby.”
After hanging up, Dolores immediately asked, “Did Samuel call you?”
Matthew was originally going to tell her, but now that there was a problem, he was afraid she would worry. So he decided not to say anything and just hummed lightly.
“Why does he have your phone number?” Dolores frowned. Samuel hated him so much, why was he contacting Matthew?
Was there something she didn’t know?
She began to panic.
“I gave it to him when we had lunch together last time. We’re no longer enemies; we’re friends now. His prejudice against me is gone.” explained Matthew patiently.
Dolores still felt uncomfortable.
“Really?”
“Really.”
Back in Sampson’s car, Jessica’s really anxious, “Stop somewhere quickly, Samuel’s not feeling well!”
Sampson glanced at the car’s GPS. They weren’t too far from their destination. It wasn’t going to take long to stop here, and he had already destroyed Samuel’s contact tool. Samuel wouldn’t be able to contact anyone, so he stopped the car.
He got out of the car, walked to the back seat and said to Jessica, “I’ll take care of Samuel, you stay in the car with Simona. This is a remote place, there could be bad people around so be careful.”
“Okay.” Jessica replied.
“Dude, you take me. I can’t walk, my stomach hurts.” Samuel wrapped his arms around Sampson’s waist, looking weak.
Sampson looked up at him, “Does it really hurt?”
“Yes, why would I lie to you?” Samuel settled into his arms, hugging him tightly, as if they were very close.
Now that he was sick, he looked weak.
Sampson had watched Samuel grow from the time he was a baby until now, she felt for him.
Seeing him in so much pain, Sampson’s heart softened a little, “Don’t worry, I’ll carry you.”
Lying in his arms, Samuel put his hand in his pocket as he deliberately spoke to him, “Uncle, am I going to die?”
“What nonsense! It’s just a stomachache, not a terminal illness.” Sampson comforted him.
“But it hurts so much, it really hurts. I’m about to die in pain.” He deliberately moved his arms to disguise his movement to pull out his phone.
“It’s not that easy to die. If you die, how is your mother going to survive…” Speaking of Dolores, his eyes darkened.
Samuel managed to grab Sampson’s phone and sneaked it into his pocket.
“Here.” Sampson set it down in the middle of the woods.
Samuel dropped his pants as soon as his feet touched the ground and crouched down.
