The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella)

Chapter 1434

The sudden surge of hostility from James startled the man known as Cheetah, prompting him to instinctively step back. However, he quickly steadied himself, and as James approached, Cheetah aimed his gun directly at James's forehead.

"Guns are merciless, you best not make any sudden moves, after all, the boss only wants you alive," Cheetah said in a deep voice.

What he left unsaid was clear: alive, wounded, or crippled, it didn't matter.

James locked eyes with Cheetah, his gaze piercing into the latter's green eyes. After five seconds, the murderous intent in James's eyes subsided slightly.noveldrama

He isn't here.

If Cheetah's actions were to be believed, his expression wouldn't be as it was.

Seeing this, James stopped asking about Mirabella and, undeterred by the gun at his brow, asked, "Who is your boss?"

Cheetah understood the question and chuckled lightly, "You want to know who the boss is? It's simple, just come with us quietly."

"Is that so? Let's make a bet, whether you stay, or I go with you," James said, his voice barely above a whisper. His hands remained in his trench coat pockets, as if it was the mercenaries who were in trouble, not him.

Cheetah frowned at these words. Although he wasn't afraid of the man before him, he was aware of his background. Seeing James's attitude, Cheetah became more cautious.

He gestured for his men to check the surroundings. This place wasn't their territory, after all.

At that moment, the crisp ring of a phone broke the tense atmosphere in the warehouse.

It was James's phone.

Cheetah's gaze snapped back to James at the sound, while James calmly took out his phone. However, before he could act further, Cheetah snatched the phone away.

Perhaps out of respect for James's identity, he didn't smash the phone but chose to turn it off, removed the SIM card, and snapped it in half.

"Sorry, we're just doing our job," Cheetah said as he let the broken SIM card fall to the ground.

James narrowed his eyes.

Then, one of Cheetah's men returned, reporting that there was no one lurking outside.

Cheetah didn't let down his guard,

however. After a moment of

thought, he said, "We shouldn't stet

here long. Everyone, prepare leave."

"Alright," his man nodded.

"Also, make a call to Mr. Ben," Cheetah added.

Upon hearing 'Mr. Ben,' James glanced at Cheetah, having a rough idea of who he might be. It was strange, though, as James and Ben seemed to have no connection, yet it was clear they were after him.

Cheetah's man attempted to call on his phone, but after several tries, he reported,

"Mr. Ben's phone is unreachable."

Unreachable?

Cheetah frowned but didn't dwell on it. "Then forget about him for now. Let's move."

With that, he turned back to Ja

casually twirling his gun and

chuckling softly, "Everyone can talk big, can't they?"

James flexed his wrist and nodded, "So, it seems it's you who will be staying."

In the car.

Mirabella ended the call, her gaze piercing through the car window, a frost seemingly spreading across her brow.

Although getting through to James's phone meant the situation wasn't too dire,

her mood inexplicably refused to settle.

It was as if a fire was burning inside her.
