Chapter 256
Chapter 256
It wasn’t long after Aurelia returned to her seat that Jelena and Leopold trickled back in.
Leopold got himself a glass of iced water, draining it in one gulp.
He felt a dull ache in his chest as if something was blocking his airways. He drank water to alleviate the
discomfort.
He didn’t dare to drink alcohol, fearing it would make him lose control.
Jelena sneaked a glance at him. She guessed his mood wasn’t good. He always had a poker face, his
emotions hard to fathom. If she hadn’t seen him pull Aurelia into the lounge, she wouldn’t have noticed
his unusual mood. It seemed that he and Aurelia hadn’t had a pleasant conversation.
If it was indeed a love triangle, and Arnold and Leopold were involved, they couldn’t have had a nice
conversation.
She glanced again at Aurelia, who was eating fruit with her head down, probably worried about giving
herself away.
Just then, someone appeared at the main entrance. Many eyes subtly shifted in that direction.
Aurelia looked up to see Sheryl gracefully walking in. She was like a dark cloud drifting into a clear sky,
making the atmosphere in this corner somewhat peculiar.
Fredric frowned, wishing for some peace.
“Leopold, marriage is like a tomb. Those who are not married are looking forward to marriage, but
those who are married want a divorce. Be careful before you tie the knot, in case you end up with a
woman who is not willing to divorce,” Fredric cautioned Leopold, who looked towards Aurella with
gloomy eyes.
She was the exact opposite, desperate for a divorce, acting like she hated him.

Upon hearing Fredric’s words, Evelyn nearly choked, afraid that Leopold might change his mind about
their engagement. She quickly reassured him, “I won’t do that, and If we’re getting a divorce, I won’t
pester him.”
But she thought to herself once they were married, she would be his wife for life. There was no
possibility of divorce. She had been deeply in love with Leopold since the first time she saw him. But
he loved Megan.
She had sacrificed so much for his love, even competing with Megan and Elowen. Why should she give
it
up?
To ease Jelena’s discomfort, Aurelia quickly picked up a plate of pastries saying, “These pies are
delicious, you should try them.”
Jelena shook her head, her expression still calm, “I only have salads and fruits in the evening, no
pastries.”
As she was speaking, Sheryl had approached them. Her eyes swept over them with a disgusted gaze.
“Fredric, why bring another woman to the party instead of your wife?” she asked.
Fredric leaned back on the sofa, and replied leisurely, “Jelena is my assistant.”
Sheryl sneered, “Does she share your bed too?”
Fredric sipped his cocktail instead of anger, and he said, “Stop talking nonsense in public.”
Jelena added, “Mrs. Stirling, Fredric and I only have a professional relationship. I hope you won’t
misunderstand.”
Sheryl sat down on a nearby chair and asked, “Then why did you both stay at the Royal Emerald
Resort for
10.20
over a month?”
Jelena shrugged and replied, “I stayed on the 16th floor, and Fredric on the 17th. If that counts as
staying ogether, I have nothing to explain.”
Aurelia interjected, “Mrs. Stirling, there must be some misunderstanding. I often visit Jelena and she
lives alone.”
Regardless, Jelena was her cousin. Even if she made a mistake, as her family, Aurelia would protect
her from harm.
Leopold noticed Aurelia’s intentions and offered Sheryl a glass of juice, “Sheryl, let’s have fun while
we’re here. We can discuss other matters later.” © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
Sheryl was far from cheerful. Recently, Fredric hadn’t even had S** with her. Even though he used to
have an affair, he was never indifferent.
“Fredric, I have only one request now. Let me have a son. As for the rest, do as you please.”
Fredric smirked and said, “I’m practicing yoga these days, focusing on self–cultivation. I haven’t
touched a woman in over a month.”
Practicing yoga? Sheryl was hardly going to believe him.
“Do you think I’m a fool?” she retorted.
