Chapter 255
Chapter 255
Fredric chuckled, “You all seem to be in a rush to have babies.”
“I’m not in a hurry, but it’s Leopold who wants to get hitched soon.” Evelyn’s face flushed with a hint of
shyness.
“Is that so?” Fredric was skeptical. After all, it was Evelyn’s older sister, Megan, who was the true love
of Leopold.
Aurelia finished her juice and got up to use the restroom. One of the worst parts of being pregnant was
the constant need to pee.
Exiting the restroom, she had to walk through a long corridor, eerily quiet and devoid of any human
presence.
As she passed by the lounge, the door suddenly swung open. A strong arm reached out, pulling her
inside with a swift motion.
She was terrified, almost screaming out in fear. But when she saw his handsome yet icy face, her voice
got stuck in her throat, leaving only fear.
Leopold looked grim, his aura akin to a brewing storm. “So, you and Arnold are moving so fast, and
you’re planning a wedding in Malta?”
Aurelia calmed her nerves. Her wide–eyed defiance surfaced, “Aren’t you the same, Mr. Leopold? The
moment you remarry, I’ll find someone else too.”
Leopold glowered at her, his eyes aflame with anger. “Are you trying to provoke me?”
She pursed her lips, challenging him boldly, “I wouldn’t dare. All I know is that only a man who
genuinely loves me and is devoted to me deserves my love. If you can’t offer that, don’t stand in my
way of finding true love.”
Leopold squinted, and his gaze was unfathomable.
He could command everything, but he could never get her. She was unpredictable wild and cunning,
elusive and bold. He couldn’t control her even if he had tried everything.
His long fingers traced her cheek, moving over her skin, “You want me to be devoted to you?”
“No.” She shook her head, “I’ve never held any hopes for you. I know we’re bound to divorce
eventually, and I won’t entertain any vain fantasies.”
Her candidness annoyed him to the point of gritting his teeth.
“Have you never thought of being my wife?”
Aurelia looked at his handsome face, seemingly chiseled by Venus herself, flawless. Yet, she couldn’t
get him.
No matter how hard she tried, she could never achieve the goal.
“It’s impossible. Your wife should be a lady from a noble family, not a commoner like me. You don’t
even respect me. I might be insignificant, but I have my dignity. I won’t cling to you and face your
disdain.” Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.
Hearing this, Leopold was sad, like a sudden prick of a needle. He wanted to say something but
swallowed it back, leaving only silence
Aurelia knew he had accepted her words, as they were his true feelings.
A bitter smile crept onto her face, and she said, “Mr. Leopold, we are like two diverging rays. Once we
part,
we’ll only drift further apart. If you wish to never see me again, I can resign and move abroad, out of
your sight and out of your mind.”
With that, she opened the door and walked out.
The corridor was empty, but someone hiding around the corner had witnessed the entire scene.
Jelena felt a sharp pang in her heart. She had seen Leopold pulling Aurelia into the room.
Did they have a secret?
She remembered the marks on Aurelia’s neck from the day before.
Were they having an affair? It couldn’t be!
She took a deep breath, daring not to think further. Was it a love triangle?
