Chapter 803
Chapter 803:
Theresa nodded slightly. Armand got her permission. He reached up with one hand, extended the other and stroked her cheek, eyes, nose and lips. He used his fingertips to imprint her appearance. He wanted to remember what she looked like and keep it forever in his memory.
Then he moved closer and Theresa closed her eyes.
Armand kissed her slowly and unhurriedly. He knew Theresa was very vulnerable at that moment and needed protection. He whispered in her ear, “Theresa, you can tell me everything in the future, the good things and the bad. Don’t keep it to yourself.”
He was always jealous, back then, when she was always full of smiles and always smiling at others.
Soon after, he noticed that she was smiling less and less when she was with him. Her smile seemed forced, she was trying to hide her feelings and didn’t want to open up to him.
Theresa opened her eyes wide in bewilderment when she heard him.
Armand kissed her eyelid, his lips were soft, but she was still tickled. Theresa closed her eyes again.
He kissed her for a long time. Theresa was used to his familiar, intimate touches by now.
Armand unbuttoned her shirt and Theresa didn’t feel as disgusted as she thought. She welcomed him with open arms.
Soon, the clothes fell to the floor, Theresa’s and Armand’s.
…
When Theresa woke up she was lying on the bed. She vaguely remembered that Armand had carried her into the bedroom. Armand’s shirt was on the end of the bed. She simply picked it up and put it on. It was too big for her and looked like a mini-dress. It covered her private parts and exposed her long slender legs.
She left the room and saw Armand in the kitchen with an apron on. Theresa leaned against the door and glanced at his back. He was wearing casual clothes, his waist looked slim and his legs long. He looked lean but powerful.
His body gave the impression of being delicate, as did his appearance.
Boyce was stout and Armand was handsome and handsome. His skin was fair and his facial features prominent. When he smiled foolishly he looked unruly, but when he was serious his eyes sparkled.
He looked young. He was in his thirties, but gave the impression of being in his twenties. When he wasn’t wearing his suit and tie, if he tried to put on a stern face he looked like a puppy.
Theresa was feeling relaxed these last few days after the move. She was smiling again. She took a stride and walked up to Armand, then hugged his waist from behind. She glanced over her shoulders at him and stared at the pan, “What are you cooking?”
“Prawns in tomato sauce.” The prawns in the pan were as big as her fingers. They were pink and almost cooked. Theresa could smell the pleasant fragrance.
Theresa pursed her lips and opened up to Armand: “Not so long ago, I had to live my life every day with caution. I was a bundle of nerves and was always afraid.”
Armand turned off the stove and turned around. He wanted to touch her cheek, but instead gave her a kiss on the forehead after realizing his hand might not be clean. She said softly, “I know.” He saw it all.
But he couldn’t help her.
She was scared and anxious because of him.
“Let’s stop the surrogacy,” Armand said with a straight face.
Theresa brushed the part between his eyebrows, “I like it better when you smile.”
Armand couldn’t smile.noveldrama
Theresa said after a brief pause, “Let’s try one more time. We’ll give up if we fail this time. We have to finish what we started.”
Armand hugged her and said, “Okay, one last time. I don’t care if we fail…” he paused briefly, “We won’t move into my house, I’ll talk it over with my grandmother.”
Theresa agreed. She couldn’t stand her grandmother; she liked how relaxing it was to live away on her own.
“So, I’ll be selfish this time. I’ll hide behind you while you take care of everything,” Theresa laughed happily.
Armand liked giving her a look like that. He liked that she smiled again, liked that she was honest with him.
At the end of the month, Theresa did it for the second time. She was anxious the whole time. She was afraid the outcome wouldn’t change. If it was unsuccessful, she would have to suffer and endure all the pain. She was afraid the doctor would tell her she had failed again.
After her eggs were retrieved, Armand took her home. The hospital smelled of antiseptic and Theresa was tired of the smell. Every second spent in the hospital was exhausting for Theresa, she couldn’t even breathe properly.
It was great that she could go home and rest.
Armand was by her side the whole time.
Elizabeth never asked about Theresa. Armand took care of her and Theresa didn’t want to think about it.
At the end of the month, Boyce returned.
Jasmine said she didn’t have time to stay because of her classes and moved into the dorm, but it was an excuse. Jasmine left the night Boyce returned.
Boyce foolishly believed what she said; he thought Jasmine was really busy with her studies. Matthew knew Boyce was back and invited him over for a meal. Boyce went to her house around noon.
Dolores noticed that he was alone and asked him, “Why isn’t Jasmine with you?
You rarely get to come back because of your work.”
They were newlyweds; they should have been stuck together like glue. But Boyce was alone.
Dolores left for C-town not long ago. She tried to convince Matthew to let her take her son to C-town. She had a business there. She gave birth and came out of postpartum seclusion. She didn’t want to leave the business she had poured herself into.
Matthew disagreed. The money she was making was enough and they had more than enough money. By going to C-Town, his family would be living apart.
Dolores understood his concern, so she didn’t pressure him and hoped Matthew would change his mind.
She held her youngest son in her arms. He was no longer wrinkled like a newborn. He was cute and pink, and looked more like Dolores than his father.
Andrew looked like his father, but her youngest son looked like her.
Boyce replied, “She’s busy with her studies. She went back to her dorm.”
Dolores sensed that something wasn’t right. Jasmine visited her a few days ago. She mentioned that she didn’t have many classes anymore and was looking for an internship.
