The Lost Heiress 386
Chapter 386 The Moment Everything Changed
Stone nodded. “The doctor was an imposter. The real one was knocked out in his office. Same with the nurse–she was left unconscious in the hospital room.”
“So we were right. There’s an organization behind Quinn,” Johnathan said as he turned off the footage.
“The police have already issued a warrant. We’re doing what we can to capture her. But you and Sierra need to be careful,” Stone warned.
Though he hadn’t interrogated Quinn himself, he’d heard enough to know she was dangerously calculating.
And since Johnathan was the reason she’d been caught, Stone feared she might go after him in revenge.
But Johnathan wasn’t worried about himself.
What he truly feared… was something happening to Sierra.
After wrapping up with Stone, he got in the car and headed toward Sierra’s campus. On the way, he received a call from Chase.
“Johnathan, I heard Quinn escaped. What’s going on?”
Johnathan’s expression shifted. Since when did Chase care so much about Quinn?
She was arrested days ago and Chase hadn’t made a single call.
“If you’ve got something to say, just say it. Stop beating around the bush,” Johnathan snapped impatiently.
There was a pause on the other end before Chase finally said, “We’ve come to a decision. Jose will go abroad. He won’t be coming back.”
Johnathan frowned. This again.
He didn’t want to hear any more about it and hung up on the spot.
But that call made his decision clear: he had to find out what Chase and the others were hiding from him.
Why had they all reacted with such panic at the idea of him leaving the Wynn family?
Determined, he called someone he trusted–someone who was excellent at digging into the past. He wanted answers. Real
ones. noveldrama
The call rang for a long time before connecting.
“Hey,” Johnathan said as he drove, “I need a favor. I want you to look into my parents‘ past. Yeah, I know it’s been years. If it were easy, I wouldn’t be calling you. Just find whatever you can. And also-”
Before he could finish, someone suddenly darted into the road.
Johnathan slammed the brakes–but immediately knew something was wrong.
The brakes weren’t working.
He was headed straight toward them. In a split second, he saw who it was–an elderly man and a child.
And somehow, instinct took over.
Johnathan swerved.
The move shocked even him. He wasn’t the type to risk himself for others. In the past, he would’ve stayed the course and let fate decide.
Chapter 386 The Moment Everything Changed
The impact as he crashed into a parked car was violent–but in that moment, one thought echoed in his mind:
Sierra has changed me… more than I ever realized.

Back at the lab, Sierra felt uneasy.
Her heart was racing, and she kept losing focus. When she grabbed the wrong reagent for the third time, Azure finally spoke
- up.
“Hey. Are you feeling okay? If you’re not well, take a break.”
Autumn nodded. “Yeah, you don’t look great. Go rest.”
“Seriously, we can handle things for a bit,” Erwin chimed in awkwardly.
Sierra nodded and stepped out. Instinctively, she reached for her phone to call Johnathan–but when she turned on the screen, she froze.
Over a dozen missed calls–from Mateo, Stone, and others.
Her stomach dropped.
She immediately called Mateo back, and the moment the call connected, his anxious voice came through the speaker.
“Sierra, finally! Johnathan’s been in an accident!”
The world went silent.
It felt like her mind exploded.
She didn’t even bother changing out of her lab coat. She just ran.
Johnathan’s two bodyguards were waiting downstairs. When they saw her panic, they rushed after her.
“Ms. Sierra?”
They tried to calm her down, but she couldn’t. Her thoughts were mess.
She barely managed to tell them where she needed to go.
The car ride was torturous. Every second crawled by.
She never imagined something like this would happen to Johnathan.
Mateo had said a lot over the phone–but she hadn’t heard any of it.
By the time the car pulled up to the hospital, she bolted from the vehicle and sprinted to the emergency room doors.
Mateo and the others were already there. Chase was too. Even Wayne had arrived,
If she’d looked closely, she might’ve recognized Wayne–he was the old gentleman she’d once met at Dickson’s school.
But Sierra didn’t notice anything.
The only thing she could see was the closed door of the emergency room.
She had no idea how pale she looked.
Her entire body was trembling.
