The Lady Nun Vows Revenge

The Silent 698

Sophie screamed, "No! My parasites!"

Sophie was both shocked and furious. This time, it was genuine panic,

She glared hatefully at Eliza. “It was you, wasn't it?"

"So what?" Eliza admitted it without hesitation.

With a smile, she said, "Did you really think you were the only one stalling for time?"

Little did Sophie know, Eliza's poisonous parasites had also been secretly moving during that delay.

Just as the poisonous parasites and the parasites clashed in the room, the poisonous parasites that Eliza had already hidden throughout the Marquis's estate had begun acting on her command.

While Sophie focused all her attention on controlling the parasite swarm in the room, those poisonous parasites, guided by the Eyeball Spiders, precisely located and killed every last parasite hidden elsewhere in the estate.

In the fierce battle inside, Sophie's parasites were already suffering more losses.

Though she felt something, she mistakenly believed it was just feedback from the ones inside the room being killed.

And so, without her realizing it, all the parasites she had planted throughout the estate had been completely wiped out.

By the time she realized it, it was already too late.

"You shameless wretch!" Sophie cursed, trembling with rage.noveldrama

Adeline, who had been observing from the side, immediately realized the outcome was sealed. From their exchange, it was clear that all of Sophie's parasites had been annihilated.

Her confidence surged, and she pointed at Sophie, shouting angrily, "You're the shameless one!"

"You bitch! We treated you with such great kindness. Even with your ruined reputation, Caleb still loved you deeply and took you in as a secondary consort. If not for that, you would've ended up married to some poor scholar!" Adeline continued, "And yet you dare bring disaster upon us, harm Caleb! You're utterly ungrateful and the worst kind of vile creature!"

Sophie snapped, "You all deserved to die! Especially Caleb!"

Sophie's eyes suddenly turned feral, glaring murderously at Adeline. "Kindness? You think you're even worthy of saying that?"

She continued, "Back when the engagement between Eliza and Caleb hadn't even been annulled, you already disliked her and pushed Caleb to get close to me. In private, you constantly hinted that I was your ideal daughter-in-law, not Eliza!"

She added, "You even reassured me, promising that you would make your precious son break off his engagement with Eliza so that I could marry him. But what did you do later, you old witch? You made me his concubine!"

Sophie's voice quivered with fury. "Yes, I did scheme against your son, but he said he wanted to marry me! We were already intimate before marriage!" She added, "And just because of that, you all humiliated me in every way, and on the day of the wedding, you made me the biggest joke in Hasen City! And you still dare talk about kindness?"

Sophie clenched her fists tightly, her crimson nails digging deep into her palms. Blood seeped through her fingers, dripping onto the corpses of the parasites at her feet.

Veins bulged along her neck, her teeth grinding as she spat each word through a raspy voice like sand scraping a blade,

steeped in poisonous hatred.

Sophie said, "Caleb said he loved me and only me. He even said he'd marry only me. But the moment he broke off the engagement with Eliza, he wanted to take her as a concubine! He even dreamed of marrying both of us. He's shameless and dares to claim to be devoted to me? Nonsense!"

"You!" Adeline was so furious she nearly collapsed.

Eliza stood to the side, watching her march toward death without a care. Her face remained cold, completely unmoved.

Adeline, still oblivious, kept screaming, "You're not allowed to insult my son! Caleb is the heir of the Marquis's estate, and you? You're nothing but a lowly illegitimate girl, you..."

"Enough!" Dale suddenly shouted in rage, cutting her off.

This time, he didn't side with his wife, nor did he scold Sophie. Instead, he forcefully pulled the increasingly hysterical Adeline away, just as she was about to rush at Sophie.

Dale said, "What do you think you're doing? The Holy Lady is still here. Have some self-respect and say less in her presence!"

At times, Dale couldn't stand his wife's mouth.

He'd tolerated it for years, but now he saw clearly. Perhaps it was exactly because of Adeline that their entire household had come to ruin. It was time to take control.

He said, "Some things were your fault... but more were mine. Back then, when Caleb did those faithless things under your influence, if I had stepped in and stopped it, maybe today wouldn't have happened."

But it was too late for regrets.

Especially the broken engagement with Eliza. If that had never happened, they could've had a truly exceptional heir's wife.

But they betrayed her. They were wrong. Again and again, they made mistakes.

In the end, the mistake was so great, there was no longer any chance of redemption. And they paid the price for the entire household.

With a deep, regretful glance at Eliza, Dale then turned toward Sophie.

In Adeline's shocked expression, he slowly said, "You're right. We wronged you and wronged Eliza. I failed to discipline my wife and child, letting them act with impunity. All of this... was my fault."

"Dale! How can this be your fault? What are you doing?" Before Adeline could finish her protest, her face turned pale in horror.

To everyone's shock, Dale bowed deeply in the center of the chamber.

Eliza's brows lifted in surprise.

Sophie's expression turned cold and complicated.

In this room were two children who had been deeply hurt by the sins of Marquis's estate.

Mistakes that could no longer be undone. Perhaps this was the only way to offer even a shred of reparation.

Dale said, "I should fix all of my mistakes. So from today on.... I will take my wife and child... and resign from office, return to the countryside."
