Chapter 2699
To be precise, the rescue leader would rather keep up appearances and have the rescue effort fail than allow anyone to point out his mistake, even if it meant people died for it.
Shrugging, he said, "The landslide didn't come our way, did it? Basically nothing happened quit being so paranoid."
"Really?" Frank suddenly asked, having already had enough of the man and intent on teaching him a lesson.
The rescue leader wheeled on him. "Who do you think you are?! Who allowed you to talk here?! Who even brought you here?!"
Then, wheeling on the chief ranger, he snapped, "Was it you?! You're fired this instant!"
It was the first time that the chief ranger slipped up, and the rescue leader was not about to let that slip!
However, he did not know that he was messing with the wrong people.
In fact, the chief ranger laughed. "Alright, fire me all you want. Let's hope you're alive to see it!"
Even before the rescue leader had the time to ponder upon what the chief ranger just said, another wave of soil and rock came tumbling down.
Interestingly, it avoided everyone but only struck the rescue leader, burying him and leaving him flailing around miserably.
Those who did not understand what was happening traded glances.
What was going on here? The first secondary landslide was entirely possible, but a second secondary landslide?!noveldrama
Picking up the megaphone, which was not sullied by a single drop of mud, the chief ranger shouted, "Everyone, there's nothing to worry about now. This rescue effort was a success!"
In perfect tandem, Frank waved his hand, leaving the tourists buried in the first landslide toward the safe zone.
The rescue teams were left dumbstruck-was this place haunted?! And in broad daylight?
The chief ranger knew how humble Frank was and resisted exposing

him as he announced, "It seems that Mount Statera has received the grace of the mountain gods. You can all leave now-every victim has now been rescued."
As everyone nodded and left in an orderly manner, the chief ranger bowed at Frank when the others arrived at the safe zone. "Thank you so much, kid! Those tourists would really be dead if not for you.
"And after what happened with those college students the last time, you've
basically saved my life twice. I owe you a life debt."
Frank smiled, shaking his head. "That era is long gone. Just live well-it's the best way to repay my favor. Also..."
Frank snapped his fingers, and a blue radiance shrouded the chief ranger.
Soon, the chief ranger felt himself brimming with energy.
He punched the air, and a tree crashed down in the distance.
It shocked those around him, though even the chief ranger could hardly believe it, "Heavens... could you actually be the god of this
mountain? Not only are you

ridiculously powerful, but you can
grant your power to others too! This
is just... amazing!"
Frank chuckled. "You're exaggerating. I'm no god, and there's no such thing in this world-just very lucky people."
That was when the rescue leader caught up to them, having clawed his way out miserably from the mudslide.
"Hey, you! Yeah, you!" he snapped at the chief ranger. "What's the meaning of this?! Why didn't you tell everyone to rescue me?!
"Also, you must have brought this man to a hazard zone! Well, you're fired!"
The chief ranger was already furious with the man.
And having gained newfound powers, it was time to put it to the test!
Lifting the rescue leader effortlessly like he was a kitten, he launched him into the air!
While always self-assured and posturing himself to be above the rest, the rescue leader was shrieking and blanching, as he had never gone through something like this before!
What do you think?
