The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Chapter 2698

Frank patted Moxxi's head. "Just remember that the philosophy and norms abroad doesn't necessarily apply locally. Being too blunt can also be interpreted as self- centeredness and disregard for others. People are social animals, so why not be considerate to others?"

Moxxi nodded. "I see! Don't worry, I will correct myself from now on."

Frank smiled. "Being able to change is a good thing."

With those words, he led Moxxi and Jada on another route and ran into a familiar face in the chief ranger.

He was covered in mud, as he must have hurried to assist the rescue effort right away.

It seemed that he was being substituted and heading off for a break, and he exclaimed in delight when he saw Frank, "What brings you here, kid?"

Frank smiled in turn. "I heard there's trouble up here, so I came to see if I can help."

Naturally, the chief ranger was well aware of Frank's abilities, even if the other rangers were not. He promptly gave up on taking a break and led Frank to the rescue command center.

Unfortunately, the rescue leader was clearly incompetent. Not only was he keen to look superior with his tailored suit and gold-framed glasses, but he stood atop a large boulder, refusing to get off it since he might get his leather shoes dirty.

His commands were even less than impressive at this point, anyone helping with the rescue tacitly agreed to ignore him and worked according to their experience. Seeing that, the rescue leader snapped, "Why is no one listening to me?! Are you treating life so lightly?"

Hearing that, the chief ranger retorted in annoyance, "Funny, I could say the same about you! Every second counts when it comes to any rescue efforts, but here you are, sending a huge portion of our personnel to evacuation.

"It would be fine if the disaster area is widespread, but the gate area which is miles away? What's the point?! We have auxiliary staff as well, so they could've helped with that-why send everyone?!"

That only left the rescue leader infuriated. "You watch your tone! I earned this position, and you'd better apologize, or I'll dismiss you!"

The chief ranger snorted. "I would actually have kept arguing if we weren't rescuing people."

Then, using his burly form, he

snatched the megaphone out of the rescue leader's hands and shouted "Team One to Four! Stay and

continue the rescue efforts! Team

Five climb above and steam

crevice. We cannot allow a

the

secondary hazard!"

The rescue leader was even less tolerant as the chief ranger supplanted him.

"Rescue is top priority! Don't you know that?!"

The chief ranger rolled his eyes.

"That's exactly why I'm having Team

Five go up and stop a secondarynoveldrama

landslide if it happens the victins

will definitely die!" fo

However, the rescue leader snatched the megaphone back from the chief ranger and yelled, "Nobody move!"

Everyone was left stumped, unsure of whose orders to follow.

That was when a deafening rumble rounded overhead.

Soon, mud and stone started pouring down from a ridge above like a tidal wave!

However, just before it reached anyone, Frank gently blew a gust of air, parting the landslide away from everyone.

Naturally, everyone there could feel

cold sweat trickling down their backs-if the landslide was not blown away, they were really getting away and the tourists

nor

Caught in the first landslide could not be rescued at all.

While most of them thought that they were saved by divine intervention, only the

chief ranger knew that the man beside him was helping.

"See?!" he bellowed at the rescue leader. "Did you think this would happen if Team Five had gone up to fill the crevices?!"

However, despite his intentions to school the rescue leader, the man did not even

care.
