The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance

Chapter 714

Joshua's timely arrival had made him something of a lifesaver for her.

He paused for a few seconds before speaking. "To be honest, I'm a bit of a disaster when it comes to taking care of myself. If you really want to thank me, Ms. Cameron, maybe you could let me mooch a few meals off you sometime when you're free."

He hesitated, then added, "And-"

Stella, not wanting to owe anyone a favor, asked, "And what else?"

Joshua grinned. "I'm not a fan of shopping for clothes, and I'm hopeless at picking them out. You have great taste, Ms. Cameron-could you help me choose a few outfits?"

Her wrist was a little scraped up, and to avoid infection, she couldn't get it wet for now; so cooking dinner that night was out of the question.noveldrama

Since she was free that afternoon anyway, she agreed.

"Alright. Do you have time now? If you're not busy, we could go right away."

Joshua nodded. "Sure."

Stella brought Joshua to a high-end boutique she used to frequent.

She'd often come here before, picking out clothes for Keen O'Brien and Haynes.

Now, with Joshua having just saved her and money not being an issue these days she naturally wanted to take him somewhere nice.

The moment they stepped inside, a sales associate greeted them warmly.

"Welcome!"

But when she recognized Stella, her smile grew even brighter.

"Oh, Ms. Cameron! It's been a while. Are you here to pick out clothes for your husband and son again? We just got a lovely new collection in yesterday-would you like to take a look?"

Stella was a valued customer here. Though she dressed simply, her purchases were always

extravagant-she only ever chose the best. Judging from the sizes and styles she bought, most of the staff assumed she was married with a child. They often speculated among themselves is Cameron must have married well. They didn't know how old her husband was, but going by the sizes, he had to be tall-at least six foot two-and in great shape.

A wealthy husband who could keep himself that fit? Even if he was a little older, most of the staff would happily trade places with her But afas, none of them were as beautiful as Ms. Cameron, so such fantasies could only remain that—fantasies.

Stella spoke up. "Actually, I'm here to help a friend pick out some clothes."

She turned and gestured behind her. "Could you help this gentleman find a few things that would suit him?"

The moment the sales associate laid eyes on Joshua, a flicker of surprise and admiration crossed her face.

My God, what a handsome man!

He caught her gaze and offered a polite, friendly smile. "Thank you for your help, miss."

Flustered, she quickly composed herself. "Oh, it's no trouble at all.....”

She ushered them further inside, introducing different styles and fabrics, all the while sneaking glances at Joshua.

A friend? She wasn't sure she bought that were they really just friends? Between a man and a woman, things were rarely that simple, especially when the man looked like he'd just walked off a college campus.

Could he be... Ms. Cameron's secret lover? The thought seemed plausible. He looked like a recent graduate, after all.

With the associate's suggestions, Stella picked out over a dozen outfits.

"Joshua, why don't you try these on? If none of them feel right, we'll pick out some others."

Joshua didn't stand on ceremony. "Alright."

The sales associate watched as Stella shopped with the same lavish abandon as always, secretly amazed. Could it be she wasn't wealthy because of a man? Maybe

She was the one calling net?

shots-and her so-called husband and son depended on herinstead? That would explain how effortlessly she spent money, always going for the best.
