Chapter 1424
Perhaps Cassie hadn't checked her phone until Mirabella had just gotten back home-that's when she finally received a reply.
Y: [No, it's a secret matter of the clan. The elders would never mention that
traitor.]
Y: [Why are you suddenly asking about this?]
Mirabella slipped on her slippers and headed inside while typing a reply: [Just curious.]
Cassie knew this person wasn't the curious type. After a moment of thought, she said: [Is something wrong? Paul hasn't gotten back to me either.]
Mirabella went to pour herself a glass of water, then sat down on the couch without hiding anything: [Morgan has disappeared.]
Y: [Disappeared? You can't find him either?]
Mirabella sent a brief affirmative, then after a moment of thought, she messaged again: [Do you think he disappeared to lure me out?]
Y: [I doubt it, but what does this have to do with the traitor you just mentioned?]
Mirabella raised an eyebrow. This kid could be incredibly dense at times, but sharp as a tack when it mattered, [No connection, just worried Morgan might have encountered that traitor.]
Seeing it was like that, Cassie felt the weight in her heart suddenly drop, [Then you needn't worry. Morgan's fighting skills are not to be underestimated.]
Mirabella's cheeks twitched. Seeing she couldn't get anything more from Cassie, she quickly ended the conversation on Messenger.
Putting down her phone, Mirabella leaned her head back against the couch, her eyes quietly staring at the crystal chandelier overhead, lost in thought.

Meanwhile, at the international airport.
Dressed in black, with a hoodie over his head and a black mask covering most of his face, Ben stood not far from the airport security checkpoint in front of a floor-to-ceiling window.
Another man, also dressed in dark clothes, stood beside him.
This man wasn't as heavily disguised as Ben, his handsome face and deep-set features visible, especially his deep blue eyes, which were unfathomably deep. "Watch yourself," the man said, hands behind his back, his voice indifferent.
Ben pulled his mask up a bit, but it couldn't hide the resentment in his eyes, "Ruined by a woman, years of my plans. I can't just leave, not like this!"noveldrama
The gunshot wound that pierced his chest, the whip scars he received at the security bureau, and the days spent hiding like a rat, all constantly reminded him that he needed to
settle this score.
The man standing opposite Ben faced his murderous aura without any fluctuation, casually saying, "Foolish."
Ben lowered his lashes, his fists clenched.
"Do what you must, I won't interfere.
But remember, if you don't bring back the person I want, there's no
need for you to come back either," the man said coolly.
Ben was stunned, the hostility he felt momentarily dissipated, his clenched palm sweating at the man's last words.
He looked up at the man, opened his mouth to speak, but the man didn't give him
a chance to talk, already turning towards the security checkpoint.
The departing figure seemed ordinary, yet Ben could still feel that ruthless intent, not relaxing until the man completely disappeared from view.
Taking a deep breath, Ben adjusted the hoodie over his head to cover his forehead and quickly left the airport.
He flagged down a cab outside, telling the driver, "To Prestige College."
