Chapter 209
Chapter 209
As a single without experience in relationship, her heart yearned for an all–consuming romance, one
that would lead her to the altar.
However, this was something that Leopold could never give her. She was no fool to harbor such
illusions.
A shadow flickered across Leopold’s mind, his eyes hardened with a cold laugh as he commented,
“Childish.”
A bitter–sweet expression crossed Aurelia’s face. No matter what she said or did, he would always find
fault with it. She was used to it. Suppressing a yawn, she stood up, “I’m tired, going to sleep. You can
read the kids a bedtime story.”
Enough talk for the night.
Leopold’s lips tightened, his demeanor stern again, “Don’t be Elowen’s adviser again, or you’ll pay.”
“Sure.” She shrugged indifferently, intending to play it both ways.
Aurelia arranged to meet Jelena for dinner at Starry Bites Diner after work. Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
Jelena arrived shortly after.
“Black Friday is coming up soon, have you been busy?” Aurelia asked.
“Not really, even though I do sell stuff live, I mainly focus on fitness and entertainment.” Jelena replied.
“Oh.” Aurelia sipped her fruit juice, “I saw some people causing trouble on your live show, hope it didn’t
affect you?”
Jelena flicked her hair nonchalantly, “I’ve seen my fair share of clowns. They’re not worth my time.”
“You’re a public figure, any small incident can attract attention. Better be careful.” Aurelia warned.
Jelena laughed, her tone teasing, “Are you worried that I’ll become a home–wrecker?”
Aurelia shook her head quickly, “Not at all. You’ve got so many top–tier suitors, you’d never settle for a
married man.”
Jelena picked up a piece of cake, a mysterious smile on her face, “For me, men are either likable or
not. Married or not doesn’t matter.”
Aurelia choked on her juice.
How could that not matter? Married men are off–limits, it’s not right to meddle in their lives.
“Is the Stirling man chasing you?”
Jelena shrugged, seeing no reason to hide anymore, “Save for the fact he’s married, he checks all my
boxes.”
Aurelia was stunned. Being married was a deal–breaker!
Jelena was clearly falling in deep. Aurelia needed to think of a way to pull her out.
“Jelena, there are plenty of eligible bachelors in Elysium. You don’t need to go after a married man.”
Jelena was unconvinced, “Top–tier bachelors come in different levels. The Stirling family is at the top of
the pyramid, so who can compare to him?”
Aurelia sighed, “Fredric has plenty of women. He’s just playing with you. He won’t divorce his wife to
marry
you.”
Jelena raised an eyebrow, a cryptic smile on her face, “Don’t worry, I know how to handle him.”
Aurelia sighed, surprised at Fredric’s allure. Jelena was like a moth to a flame. She couldn’t say much
as an outsider, it might hurt their relationship. She’d find another way to counsel Jelena later.
“Jelena, the Stirling family is very strict. Although their men can have multiple lovers, divorce is difficult.
Besides, Sheryl is not to be trifled with. The online trolls are just the beginning. Be careful.”
“I know.” Jelena laughed carelessly. She didn’t take Sheryl seriously. The more Sheryl made a fuss,
the better the divorce justification for Fredric.
On the weekend, Avery returned from the film city and headed straight to Aurelia’s apartment to pick
her up.
To his surprise, he saw a familiar figure emerging from a car and entering the apartment.
He was taken aback. What was Leopold doing at his sister’s place on a weekend?
Did he still have the apartment access card? Did he visit often?
