The CEO’S Unplanned Heir novel (Aurelia and Leopold)

Chapter 208

Chapter 208

Was she taking shower too slow?

Just as she was about to say something to lighten the mood, Leopold threw his iPhone onto the table

with a

thud.

“When did you become Elowen’s right–hand woman?” he demanded, his voice icy.

Aurelia’s heart skipped a beat. She glanced at the WhatsApp message on the screen. Damn, he knew.

“I just feel sorry for her. Her love for you is genuine, unlike some other people,” she defended.

Leopold stared at her, his eyes full of mockery. “I never would have pegged you for a saint.”

His voice was cold and it sent shivers down her spine.

Great, was she going to be his punching bag now? Aurelia thought.

“Girls help girls, especially when we’ve been rejected by the same guy. It’s only natural we’d empathize

with each other.”

Leopold choked, his face turning ashen.

Someday this woman was going to drive him crazy.

“How come you never empathize with me?”

Aurelia made a face and replied, “Well, you’re a high and mighty CEO, filthy rich, and absolutely

brilliant. You’re admired by everyone. There’s nothing for me to empathize with.”

She felt no sympathy for his ‘problems‘ of having too much money or too many women to handle.

Leopold reached out and covered her head with his large hand, his eyes cold and piercing, as if he

could see right through her. “Don’t be too smart for your own good. If you’re not careful, you might end

up shooting yourself in the foot.”

Aurelia frowned. If Elowen were to be kicked out of the picture and Evelyn became the CEO’s wife,

she’d be

the one crying!

“I’m not smart, I’m just a plain Jane.”

Leopold huffed, “You’re certainly plain alright. You can’t even tell friend from foe.”

Aurelia swallowed hard. The CEO was already fuming because he couldn’t break off his engagement.

She had just walked right into the lion’s den. She couldn’t add fuel to the fire, or she’d be toast.

She quickly covered her ears with her hands and looked at him with an innocent look, like a child

begging for forgiveness. “I’m sorry, Mr. Leopold. I was wrong. I promise I won’t do it again. Please

forgive me this

once.”

She batted her eyelashes and puckered her lips, making Leopold feel both annoyed and amused.

“Your ears definitely deserve a punishment. They never listen.”

She pouted, “They like to hear nice things.”

Leopold pinched her lips with his fingers, “Then why can’t this mouth of yours say anything nice?”

Same to you! Aurelia thought to herself. He hadn’t said many nice things to her either. He was always

teasing her, belittling her, and being cold towards her.

“I thought you as such a wise and powerful CEO wouldn’t appreciate flattery. So, I’ve always been

straightforward. After all, truthful words are unpleasant to the ear, and sugar–coated bullets can kill.”

Leopold flicked her forehead, “You want to hear nice things, don’t you?”

She stuck out her tongue, “I’m a woman. We’re emotional creatures. Of course, we like to be praised

and pampered.”

Leopold held her chin and scrutinized her from head to toe, his lips curling into a sneer.

“I’d like to compliment you too, but I can’t seem to find any good qualities in you.”

Aurelia could hear the sarcasm in his voice, and it left a sour taste in her mouth.

To him, she was nothing compared to Elowen and Evelyn. Of course, he couldn’t see any good in her.

But she didn’t care, because she didn’t need his validation.

“You’re not my knight in shining armor anyway. Someday, someone will love and cherish me. When I’m Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

feeling down, he’ll cheer me up. When I’m tired, he’ll cook a delicious meal for me. When times are

tough, we’ll support each other. That’s what true love is!”
