Chapter 410 Knocked Out of His Nuts

Get Honths

Gilbert advised Donahueiel with unwavering

patience, “Listen, whenever a woman is upset, it’s the man’s fault. To win her over, you must show

her your genuine intentions. Got it?”

Donahueiel tapped his knees, inquiring earnestly, “What does it mean to be sincere?”

Gilbert took a swig of his drink, his brow furrowing with the shocking flavor.

“Are you still waiting down the building? Don’t leave. Just stay put until she emerges.”

Donahueiel scoffed at Gilbert’s clichéd advice.

“Do you think this is some mindless soap

opera? There’s no torrential downpour or car crash here, and Janet won’t cradle me in her arms, weepi

ng uncontrollably.”

Remembering Janet’s icy expression and piercing gaze, Donahueiel was certain

she’d see through this amateurish ploy in a heartbeat.

Gilbert clicked

his tongue, itching to grab Donahueiel’s shoulders through the phone and shake some sense into him..

“Who knows women better, you or me? Don’t dismiss the power of a seemingly trite plot. Every woman

harbors a youthful spirit and dreams of fairy–

tale romance. Even if she calls you out, deep down, she’ll be delighted.”

After some hesitation, Donahueiel decided to put his faith in Gilbert just this once.

After all, Gilbert was a notorious playboy who’d charmed countless women, making him far more adept

at navigating women’s hearts.

Alfred pulled up right in front of the Green Building, switched off the headlights, and the two sat in the s

hadows, enveloped by silence.

After a lengthy pause, Alfred cautiously ventured a reminder.

“Mr. Webster, why don’t you go out and wait? I’m worried that Madam won’t recognize

your car. If she misses it, won’t we have waited in vain?”

Donahueiel thought it over and got out of the car.

It was not until eleven o’clock at night that Janet finally finished dealing with the day’s

affairs and headed downstairs with Marco.

As soon as she stepped outside, Janet spotted a black van parked under the dim

streetlights. A tall figure stood beside the car, fiddling with his phone.

“That’s… Mr. Webster?”

Marco narrowed his eyes, using the light from the streetlamp to make out the man’s

face.

Janet was also looking at Donahueiel. What was he doing here instead of going home in the middle of t

he night?

Could it be that he had something important to discuss with her?

As she wondered, Donahueiel looked up and saw her.

The two locked eyes from a distance of five or six meters. The air between them was

silent and heavy.

After a while, Donahueiel straightened up and opened the back door of the car. He got

back into the car without a word.

Janet’s mind was full of question marks. She stared at Donahueiel’s retreating back in

confusion, wondering what game he was playing.

Didn’t he have something to tell her? Then why was he here in the middle of the night?

Marco was also confused and tentatively asked Janet.

“Does Mr. Webster have business with you?”

“He’s neurotic.”

Janet stared speechlessly at Donahueiel’s car before turning around and leaving.

When Donahueiel got back into the car, he kicked the front seat with his leather shoes.

“Did she look back at me?”

Alfred rolled down the window on the passenger side. He was lying on the seat with only his eyes visibl

e.

“She did.”

Alfred nodded vigorously.

Although Madam’s expression was more like a glare, that still counted as “looking,” right?

Donahueiel’s lips curled up in satisfaction. The haze in his heart finally cleared, and he

relaxed.

He texted Gilbert to inform him of the outcome of his operation. Gilbert responded

quickly.

“Good job! This is called appealing to pathos. If you want to speak, you cry first. It works on both men a

nd women. Although you didn’t shed tears, walking away without saying a word is enough to pique her i

nterest.”

Appealing to pathos? That was sick.

Donahueiel frowned and tapped out a question mark.

Gilbert assured him.

“You’ve successfully caught Janet’s attention. She’ll definitely ask to meet with

tomorrow. Just wait and see!

you

“If she didn’t take the initiative to contact you, I’ll treat you to dinner tomorrow!”

After scanning Gilbert’s text message, Donahueiel didn’t reply.

Who wanted to have dinner with a debauched playboy?

Although Gilbert’s flamboyant moves seemed unreliable, Donahueiel was still full of anticipation for tom

orrow.

He silently turned off the silent mode on his phone and set the ringtone to the loudest volume before tel

ling Alfred to head home.

After returning

home, Janet dragged her exhausted body into the shower before collapsing onto her big, soft bed.

Sighing contentedly, Janet casually logged into Instagram.

Donahueiel’s profile picture popped up unexpectedly. He had posted something.

It was a photo of the streetlights outside the Green Building. The atmosphere was lonely and desolate.

The caption is just one word, “Waiting.”

Janet’s finger lingered on the photo for a long time. Only one thought ran through her mind, has Donah

ueiel lost his mind?

“What a neurotic.”

She cursed under her breath before clicking on Donahueiel’s profile picture and adding

him to her blacklist.

She tossed her phone aside, closed her eyes, and fell asleep in one smooth motion.

Having tasted a bit of success with his trick, Donahueiel came to the Green Building

again early the next morning.

Considering the bustling crowds during the day, Donahueiel chose to remain hidden

inside his car, patiently waiting.

Meanwhile, Janet was in her office, engaged in a video call with an overseas client.

“Okay, here’s to a successful partnership.”

Janet’s impeccable Russian impressed the client time and time again. In less than half

an hour, they had ironed out all the details of the contract.

After hanging up the phone, Janet rang the call bell on her desk. Marco promptly

entered the room.

“Compile this into a document and include it in the meeting minutes –

both paper and electronic versions.”

Janet copied the recording of the video call into a flash drive and handed it to Marco.

Marco took it but didn’t immediately get to work.

Janet looked up from her papers and raised an eyebrow at Marco’s hesitation.

“Is anything wrong?”

Marco gestured towards the window. “Mr. Webster’s car is parked outside.”

Janet felt a throbbing in her temples. Where had Donahueiel learned to play hard to get?

He sucked at it.

She was not touched but annoyed. Apparently, he was pestering her.

“I see. You can go ahead with your work.”

After Marco left the room, Janet called Donahueiel.

Suddenly, the pounding beat of rock music filled the car. Alfred, who had risen early, had been dozing o

n the steering wheel. Startled awake by the sudden noise, he jumped up and hit his head on the roof of

the car.

Donahueiel was cool as a cucumber. He had deliberately set his ringtone to the loudest volume, just to

make sure he wouldn’t miss Janet’s call.

A gentle curve formed at the corner of his mouth. Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Janet.”

Janet tapped her pen on the table, her voice cold.

“Let’s have lunch together today and talk face–to–face if you have anything to say.”

Donahueiel smiled, his voice slightly vibrating with a sultry ripple between his brows

and eyes.

Gilbert’s method worked. It was only the second time he had used it, and Janet had

already responded.

But his enthusiasm was soon dampened by Janet.
