Alpha King’s pregnant Ex-Luna

She realized the time she got to spend with the kids alone was waning, becoming rare as the moon grew brighter in the night sky.

The triplets sensed the same, their excitement palpable even in the absence of any particular event. Their eyes were fixed on her, unwavering.

“I heard from Gramps that you went out for dinner with Mr. Alpha Zachary earlier. Is that true?” Donna, the bold one, dared to inquire.

Nelly shot her a glance, her gaze piercing like a hunter’s. “Why do you know about everything?”

“I know about everything because I care about you!” the girl replied without falter.

Nelly smiled, a brief glimpse of fangs glinting in the moonlight. “That’s true.”

“Do you like Mr. Alpha Zachary?” Donna pressed on.

The boys, too, watched their mother intently, their eyes glimmering like silver amidst the darkness.

Nelly paused, considering her words carefully. “I do.”

Silence engulfed them, an eerie stillness that made the hairs on their necks stand on end.

She could feel their eyes practically glued to her, waiting for her next words.

“So you’re picking our school director then, Nelly?” Ben’s voice trembled, mirroring the anxiety that plagued their hearts.

“Picking?” she echoed, even as her lips twitched in amusement.

“Yeah. Since you like Mr. Lucas, aren’t you going to stay with him?”

Nelly chuckled, a low rumble that held a touch of danger. “I do like him, but in a platonic, friendly way. I don’t like him romantically.”

The triplets fell silent once more, relief washing over them like a moonlit breeze.

But their relief couldn’t conceal the underlying anxiousness that had haunted them before. They let out a heavy sigh, their anticipation hanging in the air.

“You’re getting funnier and funnier, Nelly!” Ben’s smile held a wryness to it, his eyes glinting mischievously.

“Thanks for the praise,” Nelly replied, her voice carrying an air of mystery as she stared at him through the rearview mirror.

“Does this mean you won’t get together with Mr. Alpha Zachary, Nelly?” Donna’s voice carried a hint of disappointment.

“No, I won’t. We can still be friends, but only friends.”

“I see…” The girl nodded, a small smirk curling at the corner of her mouth.

Detecting the faint change in her daughter’s expression, Nelly raised an eyebrow. “What’s wrong? Are you disappointed?”

“It’s nothing! Even though I like Mr. Alpha Zachary, especially because he’s handsome, I’ll still prioritize and respect what you like, Mommy! That’s why it’s more important that you’re happy, Mommy! Nothing else is as important as that!” Donna’s words carried determination, as she shook her head in a serious manner.

However, Nelly could discern a subtle hint of relief in her daughter’s eyes. “Is that what you really think?”

The girl nodded with utmost sincerity, but within her, Nelly sensed the flicker of a hidden agenda. Does she think I’m oblivious to her intentions? From the moment she asked her first question, I already understood what she was trying to accomplish. Still, it’s only natural for a child to have their own desires. Every child wants to see their parents together. Yet, I cannot allow myself to foster false hope.

Nelly pondered on her response, contemplating the best approach. “As you said, you’ll prioritize and respect what I like. So, if and when I find someone I truly like, you three better not interfere, okay?”

Donna’s eyes widened, an unspoken fear crossing her face. Is she preparing us for the worst?

It was then that Tony spoke up, his voice laced with determination. “If that day comes, I won’t interfere.”

Nelly glanced at the boy through the rearview mirror, his young eyes reflecting a resolve that convinced her of his sincerity.

“Thank you, Darling,” she smiled.

“I, too, won’t stop you. But I believe you’re better off as an independent beauty, Nelly!” Ben chimed in.

“Independent beauty? What does that mean?” Nelly’s brows furrowed in confusion.

“It means it’s perfectly fine for you to remain single! After all, I believe there’s no man in this world worthy of you!” Ben added, a touch of admiration in his voice. “But fear not, for even if you can’t find a suitable man, you’ll always have your sons. Once I start making money, I’ll take care of you and ensure you live a happy life.”

Nelly couldn’t help but laugh at his audacity, a mixture of amusement and concern within her. She felt the weight of time upon her, the rapid aging that awaited her. But at the same time, this flattery was undeniably effective.

“Okay,” she nodded in agreement. “I’m truly grateful to hear that. Although, remember not to forget about me once you find yourselves wives!”

“My future wife will never matter more than you!” Ben declared boldly.

His words, however true or false, brought a warmth to Nelly’s heart.

Donna rolled her eyes at her brothers, sensing their attempts at ingratiating themselves with their mother. But deep down, she still clung to the belief that Daddy would one day win Mommy’s heart.

Lost in her thoughts, she gazed out the window and a question formed in her mind. “What does Daddy like to eat or drink, Mommy?”This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

Nelly hesitated, unsure how to reply. “Um… I don’t know.”

The girl tilted her head in confusion. “But weren’t you two married?”

“Well, it didn’t last long enough for me to learn his preferences,” Nelly admitted, a touch of sadness lacing her words.

Donna shook her head, resigned to the situation. “It’s like you two were only playing house.”

Her words struck Nelly with a mix of sadness and guilt, rendering her momentarily speechless.

Spotting a bakery up ahead, Donna offered a suggestion. “How about we buy some desserts for Daddy?”

Desserts? Nelly could hardly recall if Alpha Kilian had a sweet tooth. But in truth, she had no idea of his preferences. She glanced at Donna. “I think he’ll appreciate whatever you choose.”

“Then let’s stop at the bakery! I want to get something for him, Nelly!”

Nelly promptly parked the car, and without hesitation, the girl bounded out and darted into the bakery.

A pang of jealousy stirred within Nelly, witnessing her daughter’s excitement. But amidst her envy, a spark of joy ignited. She was proud to have such a considerate daughter.

She stepped out of the vehicle, entering the bakery alongside Donna.

The girl appeared troubled, lost amidst the assortment of cakes. “Which one should I choose…”

Nelly pointed to a specific cake. “How about this one? He enjoys a hint of bitterness in his food.”

Donna turned to her, eyes alight with hope. “Really?”

“You can give it a try. I’m quite certain he’ll appreciate whichever one you pick.”

“I’ll choose this one, then!” Donna’s smile radiated pure happiness.

Nelly paid for the cake, the transaction completed in a heartbeat.

Meanwhile, Ben and Tony exchanged knowing glances with Donna, cautioning her not to be too obvious. Are they not afraid that Mommy will grow jealous?

But Donna seemed oblivious to their silent pleas, her focus solely on the task at hand.

With the cake in hand, they continued their journey to the hospital.

After twenty minutes, they arrived at their destination, the hospital entrance bathed in the moonlight.

Nelly parked the car, turning to her children with a request. “You three go ahead. I’ll wait here.”

“Huh?” Donna stared at her with wide eyes. “Aren’t you coming in, Nelly?”

Nelly shook her head, a glimmer of mystery in her gaze. “No, I won’t be joining you. I’ll stretch my legs out here. You three should hurry inside. Gramps is waiting for us to join him for dinner.”
