Chapter 25: I Saw It, There Is Evidence
The interview results for the latest recruitment at LM are out. When Olivia Xia looked at the list of those who passed the interview, seeing Leah Wu's name was not surprising at all. Indeed, her UCL graduation from Y country gave her a significant advantage. Even though Olivia Xia had reservations about her, she still has an edge over others.
As the Chief Designer, Olivia Xia's only responsibility is to personally select her Chief Assistant. She won't interfere too much in the selection of other positions. Leah Wu's name caught her attention not just because of her impressive resume, but also due to some unexplained instinct.
Olivia Xia decided to keep a close eye on Leah. After all, her intuition had rarely failed her in the past. As she was contemplating this, her phone buzzed. It was a message from her husband, James.
"Hey, are you done with the interviews? Want to grab dinner together?" the message read.
Olivia smiled and quickly typed back, "Sure, give me 30 minutes."
She glanced at Leah Wu's file one last time before closing her laptop. "Let's see what you’re made of, Leah," she murmured to herself.
Leah, on the other hand, was ecstatic about passing the interview. She knew her qualifications were top-notch, but she still felt a sense of relief and accomplishment. The journey to get here had not been easy. She had worked hard, and now it was paying off.
As she left the LM building, her phone rang. It was a call from her mentor, Professor Li. "Congratulations, Leah! I heard the good news. You've made it!"
"Thank you, Professor. I couldn't have done it without your guidance," Leah replied gratefully.
"Remember, Leah, this is just the beginning. Stay focused and keep working hard. The real challenge starts now," Professor Li advised.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
Leah nodded, even though Professor Li couldn't see her. "I will, Professor. Thank you."
Meanwhile, Olivia met James at their favorite restaurant. Over dinner, they talked about their day. James listened intently as Olivia shared her thoughts about the new recruits.
"There's something about Leah Wu," Olivia said. "I can't put my finger on it, but I feel like there's more to her story."
James raised an eyebrow. "Trust your instincts, Olivia. They've always guided you well."
"I hope so," Olivia replied, taking a sip of her wine. "I'll be keeping a close eye on her."
The evening passed pleasantly, and as they were leaving, Olivia received another message. This time, it was from her assistant, informing her of a new project that had just come in.
"Looks like work never stops," James chuckled.
"Indeed," Olivia sighed. "But that's what makes life interesting."
They parted ways, each heading towards their respective responsibilities. Olivia felt a renewed sense of purpose. She was determined to find out more about Leah Wu and ensure that her instincts were right.
As Leah prepared for her first day at LM, she couldn't shake off a feeling of anticipation mixed with anxiety. She knew she had to prove herself, not just to Olivia Xia, but to everyone at LM. Little did she know, her journey was about to get even more complicated and intriguing.
