"How could that be?" Sean gently patted his son's head. "Come on, son. Tell her. Did I ever bully you?"

Chester smiled. "No, he's always nice to me."

"Did you hear that? My son is so well-mannered."

Quietly, Pearl muttered, "Oh, your son. Right, you have a son. As if I don't have one."

Darius, who had been eating, suddenly looked up. "Mom, what do you mean?"

Pearl was at a loss for words.

Sean stroked his chin. "Speaking of which, when are you going to change his last name?"

It dawned on Pearl that Darius still had her last name.

Meanwhile, Richard calmly sipped his tea. "Why change it? I think it's fine as it is."

Sean was taken aback. "Richard, he's your son too. Don't you want him to have your last name?"

"He is also Pearl's son."

"Alright, enough with the public displays of affection. It's tough on a single guy like me," Sean commented, looking annoyed.

Richard ignored him and raised an eyebrow. "It's been so long. Aren't you looking for someone to be a mother to the boy?"

Sean crossed his legs casually. "Why should I? I think I can raise him alone. I'm not interested in romance either. Being alone feels quite nice."

Pearl had a point. Even though a single-parent family can be fine, children from such families often face bullying at school. Darius had been through it before. People often hurt him with cruel jokes.

Chester looked timid, and Pearl feared he was being bullied and becoming subdued.

However, Chester quickly shook his head. "I'm not worried about it. As long as Dad is happy, I'm happy."

Pearl teared up at his kind words. "What a sweet boy."

Darius, who had been focused on his meal, suddenly stood up. He ran over to Chester and

took his hand, saying seriously, "Chet, it's okay. If you ever feel sad, you can share my mom. We can both call her mom."
