Chapter 206
Chapter 206
It was a pity he refused her. She would have loved it if he agreed, but she was still the great Miss Angie Wendel back then. There were countless men who desired her, and all were better than Luke. She was only down for a while before she forgot all about him.
She was filled with hatred back when they were outside the prison. All she wanted was for Madeline to suffer, and then she remembered Luke.
She brought Madeline up when they were in Capitol just to get closer with him, but Luke seemed to despise Madeline. There was loathing in his eyes as he told her that he didn't want to hear her name.
She could see he hated Madeline, so she called him when she came out of prison and told him about Madeline's current situation. She wanted him to hurt Madeline. Ever since then, she had been living in anxiety every day. She was waiting for his news, and now he finally called her. And he's in Dusktown too! Does he mean he's going to make Madeline suffer soon?
She was excited to get his call. Angie dressed herself up as gorgeously as she could for the meetup at the coffee shop. Her vengeance had taken a backseat for now, and she came to see him for one purpose this time—she wanted him to fall for her. The only way to make a comeback was to make him fall for her and marry him. My vengeance can wait. I can do it after I marry Luke and give him a son.
Luke told her to come in, and she went inside. He was standing beside the window. The sight of Luke made her blush, and her heart raced.
Luke was holding a glass of wine. He was slender, he had defined facial features, and he looked like he came straight out of a shoujo manga. His fair skin gleaned under the sunlight, and even his fingers were beautiful. He looked almost ethereal.
He's not only handsome; he's capable too. He owns Microlutions. I can make a comeback if I can make him mine. Her heart raced even faster at this thought. She slowly came in and showed up before him in the best appearance she could muster. "Luke, my dear…"
It was a pity he refused her. She would have loved it if he agreed, but she was still the great Miss Angie Wendel back then. There were countless men who desired her, and all were better than Luke. She was only down for a while before she forgot all about him.
"My dear?" Luke arched his eyebrow and smirked. "I don't think we're that close, are we?"
"Oh, but we are," she said cutely. "I've known you for years, and we've helped each other before. I've always admired you, my dear…" She fluttered her eyelashes at him, her gaze filled with admiration and love.
Luke stared at her for a moment before snorting. "Yep. You're still a pariah no matter how much you try to hide it. I feel sorry for the Wendels. They gave you all their love for so many years, and this is what you turn out to be. A pariah."
Angie's smile froze. She clenched her fists and put on an indignant look. She looked like an iron lady who would not back down even after that insult. "I didn't do anything wrong, did I? What did I do to deserve that insult?"
"You did nothing wrong?" Luke retorted, "No, that's wrong. You did everything wrong! And you deserve more than just an insult!"
Angie froze up. "Impossible. This must be a misunderstanding, Luke. I've always admired and
respected you. I would never cross you!"
"Oh, but you did…" Luke closed in on her. "And you know how you did it? You tried to hurt my sister."
Angie's eyes widened. He has a sister? Who is it? Madeline? She froze up, and her jaw dropped. "W- What do you mean, Luke?" I thought he hated Madeline!
"You should know what I mean," Luke sneered. "You rang me up and told me about Madeline because you wanted to use me to hurt her, didn't you?"
"No, I didn't!" She shook her head reflexively. "I know you're good friends with her, so that's why I called. She married Sebastian! She's the Harts' young madam now. She's really happy, and I know you would be happy for her too. You're her brother, after all. I called you just to share the news. I-I was just being nice."
"Hah!" Luke looked up and let out a laugh. "You're being nice? What do you think I am? Stupid?"
"I'm telling the truth!" Angie thought he was being terrifying despite the fact that he was smiling. She took a few steps back and gave him a sincere look. "Luke, Madeline's my dad and mom's daughter. She's my sister, and you're her brother. I just had to tell you about the good news. I was just trying to share her life. I didn't mean her any harm. I-I swear to God!"
"You swear to God?" Luke sneered agian. "Why don't you ask God if he got the message? I can send you on a one way trip to Him." He opened the french window. "Two choices. Either you jump, or I throw you out."
"Y-You want me to jump?" Angie stammered. "T-That's a good joke, Luke. I-I have no idea what you'reC0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.
talking about."
"Oh, really?" Luke put his glass down and held Angie by her shirt collar, then he pinned her against the open window.
Angie hung in midair, and she screamed. "What are you doing, Luke? Let me go!"
"You can do this the easy way, or the hard way. You can jump out of the window yourself, or I can help you with it. But I always need payment for my assistance. Perhaps I would scratch your face a little." He whipped out a little dagger and brushed it across Angie's cheek. "You tried to seduce me the moment you came in, didn't you? Let's see how you can seduce anyone if I ruin your face! Oh, no, wait. I should gouge your eyes out so you can't even see who you're seducing." He moved the blade upward and held it before her eyes.
Shocked, Angie closed her eyes. "Help! Help!" she screamed.
"Shut up," Luke said coldly. "You sound worse than a baby's screech. My hand might just slip."
"No, please don't hurt me, Luke. Please…" She was shivering in fear, and she begged, "Please, Luke, let me go. I'm sorry. I won't do it ever again! Please, let me go! Please…"
