Chapter 402
Chapter 402
"Yes... He is my biological father."
Coralie couldn't remember if she had spoken about this matter before.
However, at that moment, she could only bite the bullet and answer.
"I see..."
Anthony did not express anything else.
Hearing Anthony's words, Lillian was a little anxious. "Hubby, don't tell me that you agree..."
"Since Skylar has made up his mind, do you really need to interfere?"
Anthony frowned at Lillian with disgust.
Coralie was enlightened. Anthony might not support their marriage, but he was certainly disgusted with
Lillian to a certain extent.
He just wanted to go against her.
"But..."
"That's enough!"
However, since Anthony was on her side, Coralie felt somewhat assured.
"Skylar, I need to use the washroom."
Coralie saw that the atmosphere between the family was a little awkward, so she offered to go to the
washroom to let them sort it out.
"Do you want me to accompany you?"
"I'm not a child."
Coralie chuckled when she heard Skylar's question.
She glanced at Lillian after she spoke. Lillian's eyes seemed to be on fire as though she was going to
burn her to ashes.
Coralie immediately got up and excused herself.
At the washroom door, she accidentally bumped into a man. She quickly apologized, "I'm sorry."
However, when Coralie saw the face of the man, she was shocked!
Finley Home?
She called out his name in her heart.
Coralie recognized him immediately, but she did not dare to speak. She left the washroom and hurried
back to their dining room.
As she stood at the door, she heard Skylar's voice. "I'm just here to inform the both of you. Even
without an arranged marriage, I can still lead Skyton Corporation to success. I hope you won't say
those nasty things in front of Coralie again."
"Son, you are really blinded by that woman!"
"That's my business."
Hearing Skylar's words, Coralie felt warm in her heart.
She pushed the door open and walked in.
Perhaps it was due to Skylar's words, but Lillian did not utter another word throughout the entire dinner.
Until the meal ended.
Coralie and Skylar were the first to leave. Lillian and Anthony were still talking in the room.
However, as they reached the stairs, they saw a man in a waiter's uniform standing there. Coralie
recognized him as Finley from before!
She had a bad feeling in her heart but did not dare to voice them.
"Hey, newcomer! The guests in Room TT1 had left. Hurry up and clean the room!"
At this moment, a waiter came over and patted Finley's shoulder.
"Oh, okay."
Finley nodded and went upstairs hurriedly.
After he left, Coralie heard the waiter muttering, "Is he a fool?"
Hearing this, Coralie's heart missed a beat.
How could someone as sneaky as Finley be called a fool?
"Oh my goodness, are you blind? My dress is stained because of you. Can you afford to compensate
for it?" Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"
Coralie heard Lillian's shrill voice from upstairs. She hurriedly went up to take a look!
Finley had bumped into Lillian!
Seeing that Finley bowed his head to apologize to Lillian repeatedly, she could not believe her eyes.
Was this the same fearless Finley, who had flirted with the receptionist the other day?
"That's enough. It was just an accident."
Anthony tugged Lillian.
"An accident? Do you know how much I paid for this dress? 21 thousand dollars! His clothes are
covered with oil. If mine were stained, the dress will be useless!"
Lillian's voice was very loud.
The manager came over soon after he heard the commotion.
He apologized to Lillian and Anthony. "Can we compensate you for your laundry expenses?"
"Laundry? Do you know that once this kind of dress has an oil stain, it won't be easily cleaned!" Lillian
shrieked.
"That's enough! Let's go!"
Anthony felt ashamed of Lillian and dragged her away. He did not even speak to the manager.
Skylar saw that the matter had been resolved and led Coralie downstairs. When they reached the
ground floor, he said, "If they stayed, that waiter would have beaten them up."
"How did you know?"
Coralie was a little surprised.
"The waiter's hands were clenched into fists just now."
Skylar opened the car door for Coralie and got into the car after her.
"Skylar, I know that waiter."
"You know him?" Skylar asked.
Coralie told him about her previous encounter with Finley at Jasper's company, as well as what he did.
She also added, "How can such a person be bullied by others without resisting? It does not make any
sense."
"Maybe Valerie is not helping him now."
Skylar was not bothered about this.
Coralie thought Skylar's words made sense and did not ask any more questions.
When they got home, Coralie washed her face and removed her makeup. Then, she went to the study
room to work on her translation.
"Do you need my help?"
After Skylar changed his clothes, he came in and asked her.
"No, I can do it myself."
Hearing that Coralie had refused him, Skylar sat at his desk.
Their desks were facing each other. They could see each other when they looked up.
After Coralie was finished with the first document, she looked up at Skylar, who was typing fast with his
fingers in front of his laptop; his eyes were focused on the screen. She was a bit dazed.
She thought about Anthony and Lillian earlier.
It was obvious that there was no love between them anymore.
"Skylar..." "What is it?"
"Why did your Dad marry your Morn?”
Coralie voiced her doubts sincerely from her heart.
She remembered someone once said that Lillian's family was from the countryside and she had many
sisters back at home.
Similar to Coralie herself, Lillian should be from a completely different world from the Holland family.
"Why? Are you concerned about them?"
Skylar was surprised to hear Coralie's question.
"No, I'm just curious..." Coralie quickly said.
"I'm not sure. I don't care about them and they don't care about me. So, it's fair, I guess."
Coralie saw Skylar's expression as he spoke. His eyes seemed to be a little lonely, thus she decided to
change the subject.
"Well... Do you think that we will become like them in the future?" Coralie laid her head on the desk,
thinking about what happened between Anthony and Lillian just now. "Just like them..."
The way they were was more terrifying than being strangers.
But she did not say them out loud.
"No, we won't."
Skylar knew what was on her mind. The feelings that Anthony and Lillian had displayed could no longer
be described as cold. They were simply enemies.
"Well, I was just thinking." Coralie shook her head and smiled, "Alright, I will continue working."
She clicked open the second document and began to translate.
It was midnight.
When Skylar looked up from his laptop, he saw that Coralie had fallen asleep. He got up and walked
over to Coralie's desk, bent down, and looked at the translated documents. There were some mistakes
in them.
He then carefully operated the keyboard and mouse to correct the mistakes she made.
