Chapter 842
Chapter 842:.
Oscar didn’t dare take a look around. He didn’t dare give Theresa a glance with Armand watching. He was afraid Armand would find out he had feelings for Theresa.
It would be a shame for people to know that he had fallen in love with a young woman Oscar’s age.
“It’s not news,” Oscar struggled out with an excuse, “Just like some people didn’t like spicy food at first, then suddenly fell in love with it. Preferences change.”
In fact, Oscar didn’t change his preference. He changed because Theresa told him he didn’t look good in colored shirts. Oscar couldn’t bring himself to let Theresa know he liked her, but when he found out Theresa was getting a divorce, he wanted to change for her. What do you know…
Oscar regretted it.
“Should I send you back?” asked Oscar.
“I thought you said we were going to get something to eat.” Theresa was confused.
Oscar was puzzled and then replied in embarrassment, “I remembered I have something to take care of. Ask Armand to bring you something to eat if you are hungry.”
Oscar would be nice to Theresa and wait on her if Armand wasn’t here, but now that Armand was here, there were things Oscar was not supposed to do.
Theresa smiled and said, “Armand doesn’t know the area. You do. Please recommend some good restaurants.”noveldrama
Oscar then gave Theresa some names of restaurants and said, “These restaurants are nice.”
“Thanks, man,” Theresa thanked Oscar.
Oscar remained silent.
Oscar walked away after dropping Theresa and Armand off at their home.
In B-Town…
At the Nelson Mansion…
The whole family moved to the Nelson Mansion from the villa. All the empty rooms were occupied, and they exactly matched the numbers of the Nelson Family members.
Jayden insisted that he didn’t want to stay in the hospital. Old people were always stubborn. The Nelson Family had no choice but to ask Jayden’s doctor to go to the old mansion to have Jayden’s body checked out.
Matthew did not go to the office these days. Dolores did not ask Matthew about his arrangements. She knew Matthew was in no mood to deal with anything at work. Matthew had other thoughts on his mind.
Matthew escorted the doctor out of the house after the doctor had completed checking Jayden’s body. The doctor told Matthew, “He’s getting worse. We couldn’t operate on him now, even if he wanted it. We can only continue hormone therapy and try to extend his time.”
Matthew looked concerned, “Please do what you can. The old man is stubborn. He didn’t want to go to the hospital at all.”
The doctor said, “Do what you want – what’s the point of giving him a few more months if he’s not happy at all?”
The doctor had seen many life-and-death cases. He was used to it. It is very important that the patient feels happy. The doctor can only do his best to prolong a patient’s time.
“Don’t worry. I will do what I can,” the doctor was used to life and death, but the patient’s family was not. They always wanted to stay with their family as long as possible.
It was a norm as a human.
“I’ll be back tomorrow,” the doctor said. Then he got into the car and left the scene. Matthew stayed by the side of the road for a while before returning to the house.
Dolores carried Joshua in her arms in the living room. She was trying to lull him to sleep.
Matthew pulled Joshua away from Dolores and said, “Come with me. I have something to tell you.”
Matthew then carried Joshua upstairs and went into his room, and Dolores followed him. He closed the door and asked, “What is it?” Matthew sat Dolores down next to the bed.
He said to Dolores, “Our son looks just like you.”
Dolores sensed that Matthew was strange today. She didn’t say anything. Dolores knew Matthew had something else to tell her.
But Matthew remained silent for a long time.
Dolores took Matthew’s hand, “We are a couple. You can tell me whatever you want. There’s no need to play guessing games between us.”
Matthew glanced at Dolores, and there was a flash of reluctance in his eyes for a second. Soon, it disappeared and was nowhere to be seen. “Armand told me he’s staying in C-Town with Theresa.”
Dolores clenched her fists. She imagined what Matthew would probably say. Dolores leaned on Matthew’s shoulder and said, “I have something to tell you, but I didn’t get the chance. Theresa…she couldn’t have her own child. If we send Joshua to her, she’ll take good care of him.”
Dolores knew Matthew didn’t know how to put it into words for her. Taking a look at the whole situation, it was the best option to send Joshua to Theresa and Armand, but it was a difficult decision.
Dolores knew Matthew well enough to read his mind.
“He’s a Lennon. The guy had given me all his shares in JK, and he was planning to transfer all the shares to Joshua. It would be nice…if he lives in C-Town. Armand and Theresa had been through so much. It’s a shame they couldn’t have their own child. If they have a child, they can enjoy happy family time.”
Dolores slowly looked up, “Uncle is still energetic, but he won’t be able to help me take care of the company for long. Someday he’ll have to pass it on to someone. If we send Joshua to Armand, he’ll take good care of it.”
Matthew took Dolores’ hand. He told her what he wanted to tell her. Dolores was always sensitive. She knew what Matthew was thinking even before he said it out loud.
“We can’t close the textile mill. It’s the Forbis family business. Now, Uncle wanted to keep Dad company. We needed someone there to take care of things. It’s the best option for Armand to stay in C-Town. Besides, we have Amanda and Andrew by our side.”
Dolores glared at Matthew and said, “Let’s send Joshua with Theresa and Armand.”
Matthew lowered his head and glanced at Joshua. Joshua was asleep. He looked a lot like Dolores.
“They say it’s a blessing for a child to look like his mother. He’s lucky to have so many people who love him,” Dolores stroked Joshua’s face.
Dolores was reluctant to send Joshua away, but she knew Joshua was destined to have a different future than Amanda and Andrew, from the moment Joshua became a Lennon. Joshua carried much more on his shoulder.
