Chapter 777
Chapter 777:.
But what he saw delighted him. He was glad to see Dolores happy.
Since Matthew said yes, “then I’ll go ahead and name the baby,” she said.
“Please do,” Dolores replied, smiling. Then she looked up and met Matthew’s gaze. He stroked her forehead and said, “It will be a Lennon.”
Oscar rose from his seat, looking at Matthew. He thought the child would follow the Lennon surname.
“This is his son…”
“He’s Dolores’ son, too,” Matthew said.
Oscar gave Matthew a delighted look, “Jolene was right, he’s a dependable man. He’s capable, with a sense of responsibility, plus, he loves and appreciates the people around him.
But, I’m not very good at that, don’t blame me for the name later,” Oscar said, smiling.
“We won’t,” Dolores continued, “as long as it’s not too bad, otherwise the child might object.”
“You should thank me for not naming him Batman or Superman.” Dolores was speechless.
She thought about the name once she knew Dolores was giving birth to a boy, she wanted the baby to be a Lennon, Dolores wouldn’t change her name and she wanted the baby to carry the last name.
He didn’t plan to bring this up if Dolores hadn’t mentioned it.
She paid someone for this name and deliberately said something meaningless.
He joked, “It’s the third child, let’s call him Lennon the Third.” Dolores was speechless.
“All right, all right, joke aside.” Oscar became serious: “Let’s call him Joshua Lennon.”
It had some relation to the names Stanley Lennon and Jolene.
It was a name he paid someone to create by combining Stanley’s last name and the first letter of Jolene.
While significant, it didn’t sound sophisticated. Dolores would say the money had been wasted if she found out she had paid someone for this name.
Oscar became slightly nervous when he received no response from either Dolores or Matthew. “You don’t like it?” He asked cautiously.
This baby had a different meaning than Amanda and Andrew at the time he had accepted Oscar’s suggestion.
He was Stanley and Jolene’s heir, this name fit perfectly.
It was a name to remember them by.
“Thank you, Oscar.” Dolores smiled.
“As long as you like it,” Oscar said as he waved. “I’ll go visit the baby,” he patted Dolores’ hands, “Rest well.”
The baby was born premature and stayed too long inside the womb during delivery. Although the bruises on his body faded, he must stay inside the NICU for at least a month, you could only see the baby through the glass.
Those outside the patient room joined Oscar to see the baby.
The room was filled with silence.
Jessica carried a bowl of nutrient soup. It was a blessing that both mother and baby were safe.
The only downside was that Dolores would no longer be able to have a child in the future, as this delivery had severely damaged her uterus.
“I don’t want to drink that.” Jessica was making her drink this three times a day lately, she was sick of it.
“Put it aside first,” Matthew said.
“I know it’s gross, but it’s good for your body, hang in there,” Jessica reminded as she put the soup on the table.
“It’s okay,” nodded Dolores.
“Are you still in pain?” asked Jessica.
Dolores nodded. Her breasts were full, but she couldn’t nurse the baby since she was in the NICU.
“Take it out if it hurts too much…”
“No,” Dolores said. The doctor advised her not to breastfeed because of her body’s weakness and because the medication she was injected with during the operation made her breast milk unsuitable for the baby.
She could only endure the pain until her breasts stopped producing milk naturally.
Jessica sighed, “Get some rest, they’ll be back after they see the baby.” Dolores nodded as Jessica walked out.
Matthew sat on the side of the bed holding the soup, “Drink it before it gets cold.”
The room was hot without air conditioning, she would be all sweaty after drinking the soup.
Jessica forbade her to shower these days, she felt very uncomfortable, hence she was reluctant to drink the soup.noveldrama
“Later.” Dolores didn’t move an inch.
“Are you uncomfortable?” Matthew asked as he set the soup down.
“What do you think?” Dolores stared at him.
“Hold on,” Matthew tried to comfort her, “I’ll get you some hot water to clean your body and new sets of clothes to change into after you eat your soup.”
Dolores was drawn in, “It’s better than not cleaning your body.” She sat up slowly.
Matthew wanted to feed her, “I’ll drink it myself.” She drank the soup and finished it in one gulp.
The hot soup instantly warmed her body and she began to sweat. She passed the empty bowl to Matthew as she grabbed some tissues to wipe off the sweat.
Matthew left the bowl out, closed the curtain again and went to the sink to get some water to wash himself. He put the water on the chair, soaked a small towel, and said, “Take off your clothes.”
