Chapter 114
Chapter 114:.
Samuel’s cheek was swollen from the slap, making a stark contrast to the other cheek.
He couldn’t think too much about it. He just wanted his grandmother to escape with his sister.
It was better that only he was held captive by Sampson rather than the whole family being held captive.
By this time, Jessica had run far enough away.
Mary again called out to him to hurry up, “What’s the matter with you? It’s been so long, and what happened just now?”
Sampson couldn’t explain it clearly over the phone, he quickly said something along the lines of “I’ll come right away” and hung up.
He wasn’t planning to pursue Jessica, he might as well blackmail Dolores with just one of them.
He feared Samuel might have some other trick up his sleeve. He grabbed Samuel’s head and slammed it against the car door. Samuel felt a lot of pain.
Warm liquid ran down his forehead.
His eyes darkened and his consciousness gradually faded as he passed out.
Sampson threw him in the back seat, got into the driver’s seat and started the car.
Not long after he got out, another car pulled up. Abbott had just sent him the location after the investigation. There was a village near Dingqiao Bridge and he had set his target in that village.
Other than that, there was no place to hide.
Abbott followed him with the others.
“Don’t worry too much. Your son is very smart, nothing will happen.”
When Abbott called, Dolores had put on the loudspeaker and had learned that Sampson was going to kidnap Jessica and the children.
Since then she had been very anxious and hadn’t said anything to Matthew.
“Smart?” her eyes were red-rimmed, “He’s just a five year old, how can he stand up to an adult?”
She knew she was taking her anger out on Matthew but she couldn’t help it.
What if something happened to Samuel?
“It’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have been out of the house. I left them at home without caring and that’s why this happened.” She blamed herself.
She never thought Sampson could act like this all of a sudden.
She had known him for ten years.
How could he kidnap her son?
Could someone’s heart be so fickle?
Her heart ached so much it felt like someone was tearing it out with a saw.
Knowing she was worried, Matthew reached over to squeeze her hand, shaking it tightly.
He said nothing to comfort her. She didn’t seem to be in any condition to be comforted with words.
Jessica didn’t keep running, she hugged Simona tightly and hid.
When she saw a car pass by, she ran out into the road to stop it.
Abbott was driving the car when he saw someone in the distance. As he got closer, he could see who was standing by the side of the road. He sped up to catch up to Jessica, stopping next to her.
“Please help me, I’ve run into a bad guy, can you-” Jessica started to call for help without even looking at him. When she did look at him, she stopped mid-sentence.
Although she had only met him a couple of times, Jessica knew Abbott was Matthew’s assistant.
Abbott got out and opened the door to the back seat, “Get in, quick!”.
“Thanks.” Jessica got into the car with Simona in her arms.
Simona had been very obedient. Jessica had told her that they were being chased by a bad guy and that she should keep quiet.
So, when they hid, she kept her mouth tightly shut and said nothing, like a very smart little girl.
“They’ve taken Samuel. Can you call the police for me?” Now that she was sure she and Simona were safe, Jessica asked Abbott.
“Don’t worry, I’ve already brought people.”
Abbott instructed her to look back. She had been too nervous and had not looked behind Abbott’s car. At that point, there were several cars, including police cars, parked behind them.
Jessica had been too anxious and had asked Abbott to save Samuel before she could think about how Abbott knew they were in danger.
He was still a five-year-old boy.
Even if he was smart and clever at times.
In Jessica’s eyes, Samuel was still a little boy.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Nelson and Miss Flores are already acting. They will definitely rescue Samuel. Let me get you to safety first.” Abbott started the car, drove to Captain Boyce’s car and stopped. He turned to Boyce, who was sitting in the passenger seat, looking at the map, and said, “You go ahead, I have something to do.”
Boyce looked back at him, “Okay, I’ll take care of it here, you go.” He had locked the place down.
“Okay.” Abbott drove away and called Matthew to tell him that Jessica and Simona were safe, so Dolores would feel a little better and not worry too much.
“What about Samuel?” Jessica and Simona escaped, but what about Samuel?
“He was taken by Sampson. Your mother probably discovered Sampson’s intentions. At that point, she shouldn’t have been able to save both children.” This was Abbott’s assumption. After all, two five-year-olds couldn’t run very fast; an adult could easily catch them.
He was still amazed that Jessica had out-run Sampson.
Although Jessica wasn’t really old, her physical strength was definitely not as good as Sampson’s. Plus, she was carrying a child in her arms.
It shouldn’t have been easy to escape.
“Please take care of them.” Dolores held the phone, still panicking.
“Take them to the villa.” Matthew said.
The place where he lived was too unsafe.
No one dared to enter her villa.
Besides, the security system and burglar alarm were top notch, and she could also have security guards to protect her villa.
Dolores thought for a moment, she had completely fallen out with Sampson and the Herbert Family was no ordinary family. She would not be at ease if she returned to her home.
“Take them to the villa.” Dolores repeated Matthew’s words to Abbott.
“Okay.” Abbott replied.
By now, they had entered the villa. Dolores hung up the phone, but she didn’t hang it up, she just held it tightly in her hand.
It seemed that just holding something tightly made her feel less nervous.
The car sped through town on a very bumpy, bumpy road.
Suddenly, Dolores spotted a familiar car and quickly said, “That’s Sampson’s car.” And urged, “Hurry!”
“Okay.” Matthew seemed especially patient.
He knew she was anxious and, even though the car was going at top speed, he answered her calmly.
Sampson’s car was parked in the yard of a house.
The blue brick wall surrounding the bungalow was very low and looked worn, as if it had not been cared for at all.
In the yard.
Sampson had only brought Samuel and Mary was very angry, “Isn’t your relationship with them very good? Where are the others?”
“They found out.”
“How could they have found out?” Maria roared, “I told you not to mess it up, but you still messed it up again and again. If you had succeeded last time, there would have been no need to do this.”
I was about to lose my mind, “Sampson, was it really a mistake or are you too weak to handle them?”
Mary seriously suspected that Sampson’s weak determination was the problem.
“I’ve done everything I can!” Sampson shouted to his sister for the first time, “Because of this affair Lola and I are finished.”
Even if he blackmailed her into marrying him by kidnapping her son, she was never going to treat him the way she used to. She never loved him anyway.noveldrama
But at least she was willing to be close to him and treat him as a close friend.
He feared that he had now become her enemy.
“Don’t act like you’ve sacrificed yourself. You are selfish to the core. Don’t forget that before you accepted me as your sister, you kept from her the truth that you had found.” Maria could see through him clearly; he was just like her.
He was only good at dissimulation.
And now he had revealed his true nature.
