Chapter 665
Chapter 665
The two elements Hera found seemed to signify that they had the most valuable and stable relationship.
Bernard remarked, "I really like it. Thank you, sweetie."
"It's our first year," Hera replied.
They reunited at the end of August last year on the mountain at the borders of Jadonia and Valdenland. In a blink of an eye, a year had passed.
Bernard opened the glass cover sealing the periodic table of elements on the wall. He and Hera placed the elements into their respective grids before sealing the periodic table of elements again. They had completed the first year of their lifelong vow.
"Can you accompany me to go somewhere?" Bernard tugged at Hera's hand, intending to walk outside.
"I can't. I really have to meet with Johnson later. I want to try using hypnosis to bring back my memories," Hera insisted.
Bernard assumed that Hera had given up on retrieving her memories after a week had passed. He never expected that she would insist on doing so, making him feel rather sympathetic.
"I had hoped you'd say that this was one of your lies yesterday," he said with displeasure.
Hera replied, "Samantha's variety show last night was a lie."
Bernard relaxed a little. "I'll accompany you, then. After that, we'll have dinner together." "Sure."
At around 10:30 am, Hera and Bernard arrived at Johnson's private clinic on time. Johnson's clinic wasn't open to the public, so it was rather secretive.
Aside from Johnson, there was another foreigner at the clinic. He seemed to be in his 50s to 60s and had a large nose and white beard.
"This is my psychology tutor, Felix Kennedy. He's an internationally renowned psychologist and has also studied brain anatomy and pathology in depth." Johnson spoke in Jadonish first.
He then used Terranish to introduce Hera and Bernard to Felix, "Mr. Kennedy, this is my boss, and this is Ms. Hera Youngworth."
"I know her! She's Dr. Shadow!" Felix exclaimed in excitement in Terranish. "Dr. Shadow! I've finally met you in person. You're my idol! The medication you've created is simply amazing."
He was so excited that he wanted to step forward and hug Hera, but Bernard stopped him.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Kennedy." Hera shook his hand politely.NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
Felix held onto her hand. He was so thrilled that he was reluctant to let go of her hand. "Please call me Felix. Can I take a photo with you and get your autograph?"
Bernard scowled. Felix could easily be Hera's grandfather at his age. Yet he was acting as if he had just seen a celebrity.
"Quickly begin," Bernard urged.
Hera had informed Johnson of her requests on the phone, so he already had the equipment prepared.
"My tutor will be conducting the hypnosis this time, so I'll be monitoring from the sidelines." While speaking, Johnson placed a brainwave detector on Hera's head before connecting it to the computer.
"We'll start with a light hypnosis first before we go deeper. During the process, your focus will become sharper, and you'll be more alert. You can see and sort through the hidden and repressed memories in your mind," Felix
explained.
Johnson glanced at Bernard. After getting his approval, Johnson said to Felix, "Mr. Kennedy, you can begin." Hera watched the swinging pocket watch before her. She listened to Felix's orders and slowly shut her eyes. She began to access the memories buried in her subconscious mind.
She delved deeper into her memories until she finally returned to a time when she was six years old.
Hera watched herself hiding in the cabinet at Daisy Courtyard's hall. She heard the approaching footsteps in the hall and assumed that it was Xavier, whom she had been playing hide-and-seek with, who was about to find her. Thus, she dared not to make a sound.
"Dad wants you to become the next head of the family because he knows you're more capable than Chad is. How could you come up with such a foolish idea? Why do you want someone else to become the head of the family?" It was a woman's voice.
The voice sounded very familiar, but Hera couldn't recall who it belonged to. She only remembered two people were arguing in the hall.
While in her subconscious, Hera tried to push open the cabinet door. But the scene suddenly changed.
Hera was immediately thrown into darkness. She seemed to be in the corner of a tiny, dark house. The wooden door opened, allowing a sliver of light to shine inside.
She gazed at the boy standing at the door. The light behind him made it hard for Hera to see his face clearly. But the dagger in his hand seemed to shine under the dim light. In fact, blood was dripping from the tip.
