Chapter 65 A Good Girl
Chapter 65 A Good Girl
Kara arrived at home and put down her bag. Then Libby came up to her with a bowl of medicine.
Kara winced and wanted to run away but when she saw Uncle James staring at her with cold eyes, she
gave up her thought, picking up the bowl and taking the medicine.
"So bitter."
Kara mumbled and took the glass handed by James. After taking a sip, she found that it was a little
different from the usual syrup. She licked her lips.
"What is this?"
Kara asked curiously.
Libby explained with a smile, "It is a special liquid, also a kind of medicine. Mr. James told me to
prepare it for you."
Kara was surprised. She remembered she had complained to him that drinking medicine made her
smell bad. Did James remember her words and find a kind of medicine that could help her get rid of the
smell of medicine?
She bowed her head and sniffed. The liquid was odorless but it tasted sweet and cool, like mint.
She exhaled and smelled the fragrance of jasmine.
This kind of medicine was so wonderful.
Kara was delighted.
"Uncle James, you're so great. How could you find such a thing?"
In the past, she had to take medicine every day so she always had a smell of medicine. When she
went to school, the other students would keep away from her and call her an invalid behind her.
She hated that smell. Sophia knew that she did not like traditional Chinese medicine, so she asked the
doctor to prescribe western medicine for her.
She knew western medicine had side effects, so she always tried to avoid taking medicine.
"As long as you want to, nothing you can't find."
Seeing Kara's grateful expression and bright eyes, James felt softhearted. He rubbed her little head
and got up upstairs.
After dinner, Kara went to the study to do her homework and asked about the art exam training.
James answered as he checked her homework, "I've already asked Nolan to find a teacher for you.
Three days a week and last two months."
"Which teacher?" Kara asked curiously.
"A secret."
James put on a cold face, but his brown eyes flashed a hint of mystery.
Kara was speechless.
After flipping through her homework, James found Kara could have learned math well, but she was too
careless when she did Math.
"Kara, what did I teach you?"
"What?" Kara answered in confusion.
James sighed. From her lost expression, he knew she totally forgot what he said.
"Stand up!"
His tone suddenly turned solemn and his expression was cold. It was obvious that he wasn't joking.
Kara panicked and stood upright, staring at him with a pale face.
"Uncle James, I..."
"Don't let me repeat it again. Remember a man cannot spin and reel at the same time."
"Yes, sir."
Kara felt unfair. She was concentrated when she was learning.
"I'm not distracted."
Kara did not understand where she was wrong and explained uneasily.
"2 times 4 equals 6. Do you want to go back to your primary school and learn Math again?" James said
sarcastically.
"..." Kara was ashamed and could not refute.
James frowned when he saw her sour face.
She had been in poor health so the people around her didn't push her hard in her study. Therefore, she
didn't take her study seriously either.
When she was distracted and had some minor bad behaviors, nobody told her and she herself didn't
realize it either.
James took a deep breath. When he faced his subordinates, he always scolded them without mercy,
but she was not his subordinate.
When he saw her eyes dimmed, he felt his heart pierced. He knew he was a bit harsh.
"Kara, when you deal with questions, you need to think about what the examiner wants to test. Solving
the question according to the knowledge points you have learned. This will improve your accuracy and
will not waste too much time."
"Of course, there will be some tricky questions. You can make a guess or even give up. Just remember
your goal is to pass in Math, clear?"
"Yes." Kara nodded seriously.
She knew Uncle James was trying his best to teach her. She couldn't be too oversensitive. She told
herself in her heart to overcome her uneasiness and self-abasement.
Seeing that she could seriously face her own shortcomings and try to correct them, James softened his
tone a little.
"Kara, knowing it doesn't mean you really understand it. Keep it in your mind and think about it with
your heart, okay?"
"Yes, Uncle James, I will remember your words."
Kara listened to his soft voice and suddenly tasted something salty.
Only then did she realize that she had actually shed tears. She secretly scolded herself for being
useless. She wiped away her tears and went to do her homework.
James frowned slightly and felt heartache when he saw her tears.
However, she had to learn these things, so he had to put on a cold face. He didn't go to comfort her.
He walked her back to her room and stroked her little head.
"Will you be angry with me?"
Kara hurriedly shook her head, her amber eyes sparkling as she stared at him.
"I won't. you want me to be better, so you said that."
"Good girl."
"Uncle James, I will be a good girl."
Although Uncle James's tone was very frightening, she knew very well that Uncle James was doing it
for her own good.
He was the one who wouldn't say anything to the person whom he didn't care about.
"Good night."
James stared at her face and studied her expression. Then he slowly leaned forward and left a kiss on
her forehead.
Kara nodded and naughtily grabbed his pinky before turning around and leaving.
...
As a senior, she was supposed to go to school on Saturdays but today James asked her to take a
leave and said that he would take her to have an art class.
They arrived at an art gallery. Next to it was the well-known Grafit Studio.
Kara stared at the sign in confusion. Uncle James said to take her to visit the teacher. Why did they
come here?
"Uncle James, are we going to see an exhibition?"
"We will do it later. Let's go to visit your teacher first."
Nolan got out of the car and opened the door for them. James held her wrist, walking into the studio. A
man greeted them immediately.
"Mr. James, you're here. Master Larry is drawing upstairs." Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
A man in his forties spoke respectfully to James.
"Okay."
James's expression was indifferent. To outsiders, there was always no warmth on his face.
The man brought them upstairs quickly.
"Master, the guests have arrived."
He knocked on the door and reported but no one answered.
The man seemed to be used to it. He turned around and explained, "Sorry, Mr. James. Master Larry is
focusing on drawing so he couldn't hear my call. Wait a few minutes, I'll get the key."
"Alright." James nodded.
Kara stood behind James. She felt the name was familiar. Suddenly, a person came into her mind. She
widened her eyes in surprise.
"Uncle James, is the teacher you found also my mother's teacher, Larry Jones, Master Larry, right?"
"What? Isn't this your dreamy teacher?" James raised his eyebrows.
Larry Jones was the dean of the School of Arts in University A. He was renowned both at home and
abroad. One who had money might not be able to buy his paintings. Last year, he opened an exhibition
of his paintings and there was a painting up to 100 million yuan!
Her mother used to study Arts in college and Larry was also her mother's most admired teacher. Kara
had said that she would learn from Larry if she had a chance. Unexpectedly, Uncle James had fulfilled
her wish.
"Uncle James," Kara was so moved that she didn't know what to say.
"Since you want to learn Art, you must follow the best teacher." James's expression was still indifferent.
"However, Master Larry has a strange temper. It's not easy to let him accept you as his disciple."
Kara said no more.
When she heard this, she instantly felt nervous.
