Trouble in Paradise

"At this point in time, why should I hold back?"

I could almost see Claudia's flailing through the text.

Her messages came one after another like cannonballs.

"Ariana, I misjudged you. I just realized you already started seducing men when you were a few years old!

"If it weren't for you seducing Mr. Fisher, how would he look at you?

"Let me guess. You wouldn't have touched parts you shouldn't have touched when he went to hug you as a child, would you?noveldrama

My fingers were white as I squeezed my phone, anger burning in me! She actually thought that Nelson, who had that particular fetish, was a good person, and that I was not the victim, but rather the instigator! While I felt speechless inside, I also really felt that Claudia was completely incorrigible.

"Ah!"

Nicholas suddenly appeared behind me, and I was so startled by him that my cell phone directly fell to the ground.

I turned around to face him, feeling my face pale. Pressing my dry lips together, I managed an awkward smile. "Why do you walk so silently? You really frightened me."

Nicholas walked over and patted my head apologetically. "Sorry for scaring you. I knocked on the door and thought you'd already started showering, so I came in."

As he spoke, he bent down to pick up my phone. "Let me check if it's broken. If it is, I'll just get you a new one."

"It's fine. Phones are really durable these days-how could it break that easily? Besides, this is carpeted flooring."

Before he could reach it, I quickly picked up the phone, turned off the screen, and, to prove its sturdiness, tapped the back of the phone with my finger.

Then, I placed it face-down on the bedside table. "I got distracted scrolling through my phone, that's all."

Nicholas' band hung midair for three seconds before he slowly straightened up. His dark eyes scrutinized me slightly. "Did you find something interesting? Let me see too."

Taking the clothes from his hands, I said, "Alright. You can leave now."

Nicholas stood still, unmoving. I placed my hands on his shoulders and tried to push him toward the door.

He caught my hands, brought them to his lips, and planted a light kiss. Then, he looked at me with a teasing smile.

"The housekeepers are already up.

It's not good for me to be wandering

around dressed like this." He pressed my hand to his chest and slowly moved it downward, letting me feel his defined abs. "You wouldn't want anyone else seeing me like this, would you?"

With his arm around my waist, he pulled me into his embrace, leaning in to whisper playfully into my ear. "How about we shower together? I can't change without showering first..."

My heart skipped a beat. His dark eyes sparkled with mischief, pulling me out of the disgust and irritation I'd felt earlier because of Claudia.

Noticing his attention was no longer on my phone, I stopped insisting. "Alright. Wait here. Once I finish showering, it'll be your turn."

Nicholas' hand gave my waist a light squeeze, and he nodded obediently.

Without hesitation, I turned and went into the bathroom. Nicholas narrowed his eyes slightly, watching my retreating figure before glancing down at the phone on the table.

For a long moment, he stood there, perfectly masking all his emotions as he sank deep into thought.
