Chapter 57 I don't wanna lose you
Chapter 57 I don't wanna lose you
"Good morning Araceli," Emily said, smiling brightly at Araceli who just gave a tight smile and
ruffled Ethan's hair who was mindlessly wolfing down pankcakes.
"How was your night?," Araceli asked going to kiss Ace on the head.
"It was good, I can't say the same about yours though," Emily said, looking at Araceli carefully. She
could see read marks around her eyes and her face was a little bit swollen.
"Rough night?," Emily asked.
"Don't we all," Rachel said, sighing for what seemed like the quadrillion time over the past six
hours, she started to feeling the stress and weight of a bad night on her eyelids. She really needed a
vacation after all of this dramatic saga is over.
"Blueberries or chocolate chips pancakes??," Emily asked.
"Can have both??" Araceli asked, pleading with her eyes, She knew Emily was a smart girl and
she understood things are not right with her. So she served her both and gave her a peck on the head.
"I heard Yandel yelling, what was the problem?," Emily asked while drawing a sit close to her.
"I think he was on a phone call or something," Rachel lied not looking into her eyes, Emily was
smart, she could sport when something was off.
"Really…"
"But Yandel barely raises his voice except he is frustrated," Emily digged deeper.
"Emily lay it to rest, she needs to eat," Yandel said behind them startling both of them, He has
probably been standing there for a while now listening in on their conversation.
"Alright alright, just looking out for my fellow woman here," Emily said, raising her hands up in
surrender. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
"Ace you might like to get quicker with your food, jeff is coming in a few minute" Rachel said,
stuffing her mouth with much food so she won't be a subject of any conversation again.
"Ok, who's your date this night?," Yandel asked her.
"Who else do you think?," Rachel asked.
"Damn,"
"What?" Rachel asked him again.
"Nothing, just wanted to ask, I will probably take Maya with me and we would use it as bonding
time to get over whatever attitude she had just put on display last night," Yandel said, taking some
pancakes into his plate and added some mapel syrup to it.
""Woah, you are really old school," Rachel commented, looking at him drape syrup all over his
pancakes.
"Because I use mapel syrup or because…"
"Never, you will just extend this into an argument anyways," Rachel said standing up from her
chair pushing it in.
"Thank you guys for hosting me and my brother and thank you for the meal, Emily and nathan, it
was really nice hanging out with you guys, I'm veey sure Ace and I will be presented with this
opportunity again," Rachel said, hugging Emily and Nathan, only to completely ignore Yandel and
leave, he was expecting it though, so he didn't pick offense even though it stunges him a bit.
"Want me to walk you guys to the…"
"No, we are good, enjoy your meal, Ace say your Goodbyes let's go." Rachel said, interrupting
Yandel amd totally cutting him short before he got to let out anything.
She got outside and closed the door after Ace had ran to the car, the first thing dhe did was breath,
breath from all the tight are and choked up space which was odd considering she just left a very
spacious mansion. Now the question you want to ask.
Doesn't she feel bad for treating Yandel like shit for someone she was just kissing few minutes
ago, well yes she does, she legit feels like shit but is there anything she can do about how she
feels...No. Yandel was just the wall she lashed out on and she made a mental note to ask of his
forgiveness later on but for now she needed to get home, rest in the the comforting arms of her own
sheets, before she had to wake up and pick out a dress for Amy and face the drama this evening was
going to entail because right nowx she was not in the right state of anything to face it.
"Araceli…" Ace called to her, as they both sat down in the back sit, he was spotting the same white
shirt and black shorts bit they looked too clean for the same clothes he wore yesterday so they must
have probably gotten his clothes dry cleaned.
"Yes Ace, what is it?" Rachel asked, not really in the mode for any chit chat especially with Ace,
she didn't want to say shit to him to hurt his feelings just because she was in a bad mood.
"Did you and Yandel get into a fight??" Ace asked.
"No we didn't Ace," Rachel replied curtly.
"Then why were you so cold with him and why did he tell me to keep an eye on you that you were
sad," Ace said, toching Araceli's lap.
"That fucker…" Rachel thought.
"Did Xander make you cry again?," Ace said, as his face crunched up just at the mention of
Xander.
"Well technically, yes he was the reason she was crying," Rachel thought "No he didn't and I'm not
sad Ace," Rachel replied curtly again.
"please don't ask any other questions agains, can we just enjoy the ride home in total peace and
quiet?," Rachel asked, not really a question but she didn't care to follow it with it was a rhetorical
question, Ace is smarter than that.
"Okay...sorry" Ace apologized, facing the window.
Now she felt really bad, he was only trying to look out for her and ask if she was alright, he didn't
deserve that kind of reply from her. But she was not in any mood, she didn't intend for Yandel to
actually find her in her breakdown crisis, she loved to face shit life threw at her, she hated the pity, the
sad looks and sympathy. They only went as far to show how helpless she really was and she couldn't
afford thst kind of treatment now.
"Look I'm sorry alright…" Rachel started, sighing as she was finding it hard to compose an apology
to a nine years old or ten rather in a week's time, without sounding self absorbed or rude.
"Yes, Yandel and I had an argument, it was really nothing serious, I don't hate him. I'm just going to
need a little time to settle some shit...so I mean things, I will be fine," Rachel ruffled his hair and kissed
him on the forehead and he turned to hug her.
"You know I already know these curse words right, I just don't use them," Ace said, looking at her.
"Oh…"
"Yeah…" Ace whispered back. Rachel took her time to look at the boy in front of her, he was
definitely too smart for her.
"Araceli…" Ace started.
"Yeah…"
"I just want you to know that I love you and I care for you, You might think I'm just a kid but I don't
want you to distance yourself from us like you did the last time, It didn't end up well, you ended up in
the….in the hospital and...and you didn't wake up for days," A tear dropped down from his eye but he
didn't let it reach his laps as he wiped it away quickly.
"I don't want you to end up in the hospital again, please…" Araceli just looked at the boy who just
broke down on her lap crying. She could see months of pented up pain and questions liquefying into
tears. He must have been in the dark for so long even though he had a little idea of what was going on,
he still knew something was wrong.
Running her hands through his hair, she thought back to how she would seek comfort in her Dad
running his hands through her hair and comforting her after a bad day at school, he would braid her
hair and sing to her and dress her up in pretty dresses or take her to buy some ice cream or a walk in
the pack.
Maybe that was why she never had a memory where she was sad as a kid or had to struggle for
love and attention, she would always know where to run to for comfort, but just as she couldn't
remember sadness, the news of her father finally brought out the beginning of the childhood she
remembers. Her mother forgetting to cook for them instead she spent her days crying in the room and
searching for a reason for what happened.
She understood Ace fears and tears, He had already faced the scar of seeing his sister lying
battered and alm most lifeless in a hospital bed.
"I lost Araceli the first time...I don't want to lose you too…" Ace whispered into her chest...
