After Jenny and Alec got off the plane, they left in two separate cabs. One went to the hospital, and the other to the police station.
Before Jenny entered the hospital ward, she heard shouts coming from inside. “What fucking right did Paul have to start hitting you? I’m going to sue him for beating you up this badly!”
It was Zack’s voice. It was obvious that he was furious.
“We can’t hold back anymore. We have to send him to prison,’ Zack said once more. Although he and Gilbert fought before because of Janet, they would still face things like this together.
Gilbert thought he was being noisy. “It’s easier said than done. Wagner Group is not an easy target.”
After Paul took over Alec’s business in Parrington, his business surpassed Gilbert’s. If Gilbert were to sue him, he might not be victorious.
“What’s there to be scared of? We have Jenny on our side. She’s the head of the Walters!” Zack didn’t think it was a problem at all.
As he spoke, Jenny pushed the door open. “It’s lively in here.”
“You’re finally here, Jenny.” Zack rushed over. “You must avenge Gilbert.”
Jenny went to Gilbert’s side and asked, “What do you think? If you want to sue him, we will.”
“Forget it. You may have the Walters, but he has Alec.” The Fausts were leagues stronger than the Walters. Gilbert didn’t think that he would win at all.
Before Jenny could speak, Zack said, “Alec is Jenny’s boyfriend now. Is he really going to go bros before hoes?”
“That’s not for you to say, Zack. Alec is great as my boyfriend, but I wouldn’t be mad if he helped Paul. I’d understand.” They were great friends, after all. Alec wouldn’t let Paul go to prison.
Gilbert glanced at her, understanding what she meant. “Fine. We’ll let this go.”
“Have you made your decision?” Jenny teased.
“I know you don’t want me to sue him.” Gilbert rolled his eyes at her. He saw through Jenny’s schemes easily.
Jenny didn’t deny it. It was true she didn’t want them to end up in court. Paul was only doing it for Marigold. Besides, Gilbert was indeed being a little irrational.
Jenny didn’t continue the topic of sending Paul to prison. She changed it instead. “Why don’t you honestly consider Marigold? Her methods were a little unorthodox, but she really likes you.”
“I don’t want you to say anything of that sort again, Jenny,” Gilbert said solemnly, upset.
Jenny pouted. Oh well.
“How are your injuries?” she asked.
Gilbert shook his head. “They’re alright. I’ll recover in about two days.”
After comforting Gilbert, Jenny left the ward. Zack followed her out and asked, “Jenny, are you really going to let Paul go like that?”
“What else am I going to do? He was just angry on behalf of his sister. What’s wrong with that?” If it were Jenny, she’d be angry too. Maybe not angry enough to throw hands, but enough to strike if the situation called for it.
Zack pouted and asked softly, “Is Marigold’s child really Gilbert’s?’
“It’s very likely,” Jenny concluded.
Zack was surprised. “I thought that Marigold was lying.”
“There’s no use in lying. It’d be exposed sooner or later.” One paternity test was all it’d take to expose the lie. She didn’t think Marigold was as idiotic as that.
Zack sighed. “Gilbert’s really unlucky this year.” Not only had he not fallen in love, he was faced with an obstacle like that.
