The Woman From Hell

Chapter 2721

My head was a mess when I walked out of the gates of Yard Mansion.

The moment I was outside, Keith led some people over and surrounded me. "President Lane, are you okay?"

I looked at Keith. For a moment I was speechless but then I just shook my head.NôvelDrama.Org © content.

Seeing me like this, Keith could tell that something had happened. He did not pry, however, and just led me into the car.

The car moved slowly. Gradually, the trees outside the window became office buildings.

Had we arrived at the city so soon?

I did not feel like I was ready to see Theo.

When I thought of this, I quickly spoke up, "Uhm, I... won't go back yet."

"Where would you like to go then, President Lane?"

"To... Susan's apartment."

This was the only place I could think of that would allow me to calm down.

"Alright."

After a moment's hesitation, Keith then agreed and sent me to Susan's apartment.

I had wanted to return the key to Susan before but she told me to keep it, stating that I could use it as my little cove.

When I went in and saw the verdant potted plants, my mood instantly improved and I watered them.

The housekeeper had been coming by to clean the place every week so the place was spotless.

I simply found a place and plopped down, my mood abruptly sinking to rock bottom.

When I closed my eyes, my mind filled with thoughts of my mother and the night before she left. The desperate expression she wore had left an even deeper impression on me. I did not know what I should do but I should not have gone to the Yards.

If I knew it would hurt so much, I would not have gone digging into my biological mother in the first place and just remained as happy as I was before.

I ran a hand down my face, it felt like my entire being was shrouded in darkness.

I dreamt of Theo and my children. Everything was warm.

My mother's appearance pulled me back into reality.

I jolted awake, my surroundings pitch black.

It was already night.

I felt around for the switch and when I glanced at the clock, it was already seven o'clock.

I had gotten three missed calls, they were all from Theo.

I ought to go back home. I had to face it sooner or later.

Just when I got up, the doorbell rang. Who could it be? Frowning, I opened the courtyard door and saw Theo. "Why are you..."

"Keith told me that you're here. Can I come in to talk?"

"Hmm."

We entered the house together. I looked at Theo's expression. From what I understood of him, he probably already knew what Silas told me, but how?

I asked him tentatively, "Do you already know about everything?"

Theo did not seem to have plans to hide anything from me and just nodded. "I do."

"You shouldn't have known. Who told you?"

Sylvester clearly said that Silas was the only one who knew the truth of this matter. So where did Theo learn this?

"The month you left, I was looking

into the Yards' relationship with Nibel when I accidentally stumbled upon what happened to the Yards. To be honest, I don't believe it's true."

Theo's expression had been extremely calm since the start.

My throat bobbed slightly and it took me a long time before I could finally speak. can understand that you don't believe that your father is such a person, but I... I don't know..."

For a while, my entire heart filled with grievance, and I could not help my eyes getting red.

"I understand. I will find a way to prove my father's innocence. Can you give me some time?"

His voice was so soft that I could not refuse him.

After sorting out my emotions, I said slowly, "Then... Can you give me some time too?" Hearing this, Theo's expression stuttered. "You..."

"Silas had been the person present when it happened, after all. He told me the truth personally. I have to believe him first. But if I believe him,

you and I..." I choked. I did not I Know how to word what I wanted
