Sean was taken aback by Shakira's cold and impatient voice. "Boss, who made you so nervous?"
Shakira exhaled deeply. "It's nothing." Sean found it strange and instinctively looked around in the hallway before entering the room and shutting the door behind.
Sean said, "I was nearby for a business meeting. I thought I'd drop by to see how everything goes with you."
Shakira was focused on writing a report. "I'm off duty now."
Sean said, "I know. That's why I stopped by to pick you up." Shakira wasn't buying it at all.
Shakira instantly saw through his sneaky trick. "You want to get into my place, huh?"
Sean blinked guiltily. "No! I totally respect you. I promise I will just give you a ride. Without your permission, I won't step inside your house!"
Shakira said, "Okay then." While they were chatting, she finished her report, uploaded it, and turned off her computer.
She stood up, packing up her bad, "Let's go."
Sean said, "What? Hey! Wait for me!" He was so regretful and quickly caught up with her, thinking he'd find a way to fix everything.
The Haruca Hospital's parking lot was totally jammed in the afternoon. The cars barely moved. Sean parked the car outside and asked Shakira to wait for him outside the building of traditional medicine. He would drive the car there. Not long after Sean left, a car slowly pulled over in front of Shakira. She looked up, confused, and saw a pair of eyes in the rearview mirror after the window was rolled down.
Rebecca acted like a poised and graceful wealthy lady. "Dr. Lonely Bird, we see each other again. Can I have a word with you privately?"
Though it was a question, Rebecca looked like she was hostile toward Shakira.
Shakira knew exactly why she was here. She sneered. She thought, 'Felix's an idiot. He said he'd explain it to Yvette but Yvette still complained it to Rebecca.
"Tsk, Rebecca really dotes on her precious daughter. It's been only a few hours. She even came here in person. Such a loving mother!'
Shakira showed no emotional change. She refused. "It's not convenient now."
Rebecca was speechless. She never expected Lonely Bird to disregard her so blatantly. She had already planned how to deal with Lonely Bird on her way here. But now, she was stunned with her eyes wide open in shock. With many patients and healthcare workers looking at them out of curiosity, Rebecca instinctively leaned back, worried that she might be recognized.
She gritted her teeth, clearly on the verge of losing her temper.
She said in a low voice angrily, "This is how you treat me? Don't think you can do whatever you please just because Matthew
is supporting you. This is Crescentville. You will suffer the consequences if you dare to mess with a Nelson!"
Shakira knew she was suggesting something. She looked intently at Rebecca, who was hiding in the car looking furious.
She suddenly laughed and murmured, "So that's how Yvette told everything to you."

Rebecca became alert. She extremely hated Lonely Bird at that moment. "This has nothing to do with Yvette. You're so arrogant. You pretend to be aloof while secretly seducing my son. Now, you even want to blame it on someone else!" Shakira crossed her arms and laughed coldly. She said disdainfully, "Relax. Not a lot of people are interested in your children actually."
Rebecca didn't believe her at all. She thought Shakira was too proud.
She looked at Shakira more disdainfully. "No need to say that. My daughter-in-law must be well-mannered and from a prestigious family. No way Felix will marry an arrogant woman with a dubious background. Give up!" Suddenly, Felix shouted, "Mom!" He stayed longer in the lounge today, frustrated because of Lonely Bird's coldness toward
him.
He didn't expect to see Lonely Bird when he stepped out. He couldn't help but speed up and then he heard Rebecca's words, which made his face turn sullen instantly.
He rushed to his mother's car and shouted at her, for the first time in his life, "How could you say that to Dr. Lonely Bird?"
He quickly said very humbly and apologetically to Shakira, with his face turning pale, "I'm so sorry, Dr. Lonely Bird. I didn't expect my mom to misunderstand us. I'm truly sorry."
He never expected that Rebecca would make things worse before he made Lonely Bird forgive him!
Rebecca couldn't believe her eyes when she watched her son gravel to a woman, who defied her. She was filled with rage instantly.
Ignoring everything else, she angrily dashed out of the car and grabbed Felix by the collar. Overcome with anger and frustration, Rebecca shouted at him, "Why are you apologizing to her? What did I say wrong? Look at you! You're totally a mess!" Rebecca was heartbroken. She tightened her grip on Felix's arm. "Wake up, my son! You're a star, even far out of reach for some rich girls. How can you be so foolish?"
"What is so special about her medical talent? She's Matthew's student. So what? It's all just smoke and mirrors! To ordinary people, she might be precious. But to us, she's nothing!
"Remember when Fiona framed her? Except for Matthew and the producers, who else supported her? Once Matthew is gone, no one will support her and she will be a burden to you, don't you get it?"
In a fit of rage, Rebecca said these rude words and it almost drove Felix crazy.Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
He instinctively turned to Lonely Bird. Unsurprisingly, he saw a sullen face. His heart immediately sank.
He had a feeling that Lonely Bird would never forgive him.
Not far away from them, Yvette was hiding, watching the mother and son having a fight. A satisfied smile appeared on her face.
Since Felix didn't love her anymore, she didn't want him to stay in the Nelson residence to share the inheritance with her. Felix slowly pushed Rebecca's hands away, finding her both absurd and shameless.
He said coldly, "I'm rough and disgraceful. Dr. Lonely Bird is out of my league. I never even thought I was good enough for her. How could you think it's her fault?"
Rebecca thought Finn had lost his mind. "What did you just say

Lonely Bird."
Sean, who showed up out of nowhere, leaned against the hood of a Ferrari and grinned mischievously. His handsome face was full of sarcasm and mockery.
He added, "Even the future head of the Nelson family. Finn is not good enough for Lonely Bird. The Nelson family is living on your past successes. How dare you say something like that?"
Sean elegantly walked to Shakira, reaching out to her respectfully. He looked into her eyes. "If Lonely Bird nods, she'd become Yonder Digital's boss. The Nelsons are living on past glory, about to be kicked out of the major five families. How did you have the
