Dylan had originally promised Noelle that he would wrap up the situation with Dyno Corporation within a month. He had even booked tickets to a seaside amusement park in advance, saying he wanted to bring Rosie there.

Rosie had been looking forward to it for a long time and even asked Noelle to take her to the mall to buy a new swimsuit. But two days before the planned trip, Dylan suddenly called Noelle to say he wouldn't be able to keep his promise.

"There's an investor from abroad I need to meet. If the deal goes through, there might still be a chance to turn things around, so..."

Dylan's voice carried a hint of guilt.

But Noelle quickly smiled and said, "It's fine. You go ahead and do what you have to do. I can take Rosie by myself."

"I can arrange for someone to go with you. It'll be too tiring for you to handle it alone."

"It's okay. I've managed on my own before, haven't I?" Noelle said, her tone light. "So, is there a chance to save the company?"

Dylan could hear the joy in her voice. He knew she wasn't concerned about the company itself-she was genuinely happy for him.

After all, no matter what kind of life he preferred, the effort he had poured into Dyno Corporation was real. Thus, no matter what, it shouldn't have ended like this.

"Kaelica. The flight's already booked."

"I will. I'll bring some gifts back for you and Rosie, okay?"

Noelle laughed softly. "Only if the deal goes through."

Dylan's smile deepened, and he chuckled. "So, should I take this as my reward,

then? I only get to buy you gifts if I succeed?"

"Pretty much."

"Okay. Then, I'll work even harder."

They chatted for a while longer, and Noelle remained in high spirits, a soft smile lingering on her face. It wasn't until Dylan had to attend to something urgent that they finally hung up.

Noelle put down her phone and looked up to find Rosie. They were currently

downstairs in their apartment complex.

"But we're friends, aren't we? How can I be a stranger if we're friends?" the woman replied earnestly.

Rosie was about to say something else, but she spotted Noelle and immediately ran over and hugged her leg. "Mommy!"

Seeing her reaction, the woman who had been trying to give her candy froze, looking somewhat stunned with her hand still hovering in midair.

Noelle then said, "I'm sorry, but she's still too young to eat too much candy. I appreciate the thought, though."

After Noelle finished speaking, the woman didn't respond immediately. Instead, she slowly stood up and turned to face Noelle.
