The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection

The battle was raging on the other side, but Felix was not having it easy either.

Five elders from the Maximus family had arrived after him. Two of them, at the late-stage of the Transcendent Realm, teamed up to fight Dickson, while the other three, at the middle-stage of the Transcendent Realm, launched an attack on Felix.

"You guys really have no shame. You're two realms above me, and still, you gang up on me three-to-one!" Felix had launched his Lone Paragon technique and was struggling to keep up.

"Just shut up. Your fate is sealed," one of them sneered.

They didn't even acknowledge Felix's victory from the earlier fight, so why would they care about the ethics of ganging up on him?

A few minutes later, Dickson was injured from the fight, while Felix was still desperately holding on. The fact that Felix was still in the fight alarmed the three middle-stage Transcendent Realm elders from the Maximus family.

They thought, "Damn it, what's going on with this kid? Even if he launched the Dragon Destroyer technique, he shouldn't be able to take on three of us from two realms above him!"noveldrama

Atlas was absolutely furious as he watched the battle from the sidelines. He felt like his pride had been crushed and repeatedly trampled on.

Judging by what was happening now, Felix clearly did not use his full force when they had fought earlier. If Felix had fought him the way he did now, Atlas knew he wouldn't even last ten seconds.

"It doesn't matter. He won't be able to protect that Dragonspine within him anymore. Whatever secrets he has, they're all mine now—all mine!"

Finally, Felix took three hits in a row and crashed into a large tree. He spat out a mouthful of blood.

Even with Lone Paragon, which tripled his power, it still wasn't enough. After all, he was up against three middle-stage Transcendent Realm elders. If he could beat them, he would almost be able to walk around the martial world without fear.

There was no choice now-he had to use the token given to him by the Protector. Once he shattered that token, someone would come to rescue him. It seemed unlikely anyone could arrive that quickly to this remote area, but it was his only option.

Felix hadn't planned to use the paper figures that Billy had given him just yet. After all, Billy was probably more reliable compared to the Protector.

Just as Felix was about to crush the token, a voice suddenly echoed in the air.

"I feel so miserable—"

Everyone froze. The voice carried a deep sadness that seemed to infect everyone, even sending a shiver down their spines.

"What's going on?"

Dickson appeared by Felix's side. Despite being injured, he was on high alert. He

sensed that something terrifying was about to happen.

"Why didn't you run? Why are you still fighting them?"

Hearing the voice from telepathy, Felix smiled bitterly. "Dude, three of the

Maximus family elders are ganging up on me. How could I run?"

"I feel so miserable_"

The same voice rang out again. This time, it felt much closer.

Even Felix could feel the hair on his body stand on end. A wave of uneasiness spread through him. He quickly pulled out the little paper figure from Billy, ready to use it at any moment.

Even when facing the three Maximus family elders, he had only planned to use the token from the Protector. Now, even without seeing the source of the voice, he could tell how terrifying that figure was

"Who's there? Show yourself!" one of the Maximus family elders yelled, clearly unable to stand it anymore.

But before he finished his speech, they heard a soft popping sound. He slowly looked down, only to find a hand emerging from his back, holding a still-beating heart.

Dickson inhaled sharply.

One of the middle-stage Transcendent Realm elders had been killed instantly. Even the victim himself hadn't sensed a thing before his death. How powerful exactly was that attacker?
