The Rejected Luna: Daddy, Where is Mommy?

16

“Daddddyyyy,” Roselet came running and jumped on Calvin like a little monkey. “I missed you so much.”

“Aww!! I missed you so much, darling. Throughout the way, I was thinking about my love.” Calvin responded, carrying her in his arms, and started walking toward his room.

“Really? So, what did you bring for me?” She asked in excitement because Calvin always used to bring something for her whenever he used to stay away from her for at least a night. After reaching his room, he made her sit on the bed and pulled out a variety of chocolates for her from his blazer’s pocket.

“Thank you, Calvin,” Roselet said, holding all the chocolate in her tiny hand.

“I’m not the right person whom you should thank, love. I did bring chocolates for you, but it is from your Aunt Lee.” Calvin told her. Liara didn’t want to send Calvin empty hand; after all, he came to visit her for the first time, but at that time, she had nothing precious and anything of his choice until she recalled how her mate had stocked the store room with everything that she liked and she hated because of her pregnancy craving.

So, she gave a lot of chocolates to both her niece and Calvin from her stock.

“Why didn’t she come with you?” Roselet questioned. “Is she still busy with her studies?” She asked. She had been told the same reason whenever she used to ask for Liara’s presence at any family function.

“Yes!! She is busy with her studies.”

“I will make a thank you card for her,” Roselet said with a smile while Calvin chuckled, knowing how much his daughter was fond of arts and crafts.

“That’s so thoughtful of you. Now, I will be back within a minute. After that, we will have our dinner together. And you don’t have to eat chocolates right now, after dinner, okay?”

“But daddyyy…”

“Don’t try to act smart, love. You shift from Calvin to ‘DADDY’ whenever you want to convince me. But I’m serious about it. We both will have chocolate together after dinner. That’s final.” Giving a kiss on her cheek, he went to take a bath while Roselet sat holding the chocolates in her hand. She then placed it on the bed and started counting them and then observing the height and length of all the chocolates so that she would eat the biggest one.

Once she finalized which chocolate she would eat, she left the bed to place Calvin used clothes in its place and observed the whole room to see whether other things were in their place or not. She placed Calvin’s shoes in the right place.

“Just two minutes more,” Calvin said, walking out of the washroom. He wore fresh clothes and threw the wet towel on the bed, but when he saw Roselet glaring at him, he quickly placed it in its right place.

“Calvin, how will you manage yourself when I will leave you?” She asked, picking up the comb and standing on the stool while Calvin crouched to reach below her height.

“Leave me? Why will you leave me?” Calvin asked in a panic.

“Arline was saying that every girl has to leave their father after marriage. Aunt Caro left Grandpa Brandon after the wedding. In the same way, she will leave Uncle Artemis after marriage, and I will leave you.” Roselet replied, trying to comb Calvin’s hair; though it wasn’t perfect, but Calvin didn’t mind and carried her in his arms for dinner.

“There is a lot of time in your marriage, princess. In werewolves, a female can get marked by her mate after attending eighteen till whenever they want to. And you’re barely five, so there is time in your marriage.” Calvin explained.

Nelina served dinner, and Calvin fed his princess with his own hand, placing her in his lap, and then kept their conversation on. “Still, after thirteen years, how will you manage yourself? Uncle Artemis will have Aunt Caro with her. Grandpa Brandon will have Grandma Sophia when Aunt Lee and Aunt Tee will get married, but no one will be with you after me.”

“Okay, Granny. Stop thinking about all those things and concentrate on your food.” Calvin said sarcastically. After dinner, they ate together just like Calvin said, and just like Calvin, his daughter was a sweet tooth. When he was young, his brother and father used to give their chocolates to him. Now, he had inbuilt that habit for his daughter.

“I want some more.” Roselet smiled, looking at Calvin’s chocolate. She quickly ate her part and was greedily looking at her father’s part.

“Here.” He gave his part to her happily.

He laughed at the memories when he used to declare proudly, ‘I will never… never share my chocolates with anyone, and never in my life will I give my favorite thing to others, for his or her happiness.’

Everyone used to say that he would change for his woman but little did anyone know a cute little princess would change him.

After brushing her teeth, Calvin picked a storybook to read a story to her when she stopped him.

“I don’t want to hear the story today.”

“Then?”

“You didn’t tell me anything about the trip. Did… did you find anything about HER? Did you now know where Mommy is?” She asked in a low tone.

Calvin caressed her face before asking, “Do you need a mommy?”

Roselet shook her head before replying, “No. I need her for you.”Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.

“But I don’t want anyone except you, love.”

“That’s not the answer to my question, Daddy.” Roselet pointed out and kept staring at her daddy, waiting for her answer. She was being told that she was sent as a gift to her daddy from the Moon Goddess and no one had any idea about her Mommy.
