The Princess Slave

Chapter 36

Viktor POV

“Goddess, I know it’s only been a couple of months but man, I’ve missed this place,” Cedric said with a sigh. I took my seat at my desk and chuckled.

“We’ve missed you here, Cedric,” I said.

“So tell me. That other girl is the princess? As in, Princess Violette Dubois of the werewolves?” He asked. I nodded my head.

“Yes, my slave princess,” I said. He let out a chuckle.

“I bet you’ve had fun with that one.” He said. I didn’t respond for a moment.

“She’s been.. a lot. That’s for sure.” I said truthfully. He cocked an eyebrow at me and pulled a chair to the front of my desk.

“I see she’s dressed nicely.. and not in servants’ rags.” He said. I let out a sigh.

“She’s the king’s Slave.. I’d much rather her look.. decent.” I said.

“Decent, huh? She looks like a princess.” He said. He was right, she does. I almost couldn’t take my eyes off of her, and for some reason.. I felt anger when I thought he was referring to her as his mate.

Much to my dismay.. I was relieved when I realize she wasn’t.

“Well, technically, she is a princess.” I chuckled.

“And a slave.” He reminded me. I nodded.

“Need you not remind me, Cedric,” I said with a huff.

We sat in silence for a moment, before I decided to hear what he’d learned from being a spy at Violette’s kingdom.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

“Tell me, what have you learned from your time away?” I asked. I was interested in finding out absolutely everything about this snake of a King.

“Well.. Arthur hasn’t been seen by many of the courts servants. He stays in the castle. I intercepted some letters.. to a man named Gregor. That was.. until you had his head sent back to Arthur. Arthur didn’t take that very well.” He said.

“What did he expect? He came here to kill Violette.” I said incredulously. Cedric shrugged his shoulders.

“Why didn’t you let Gregor kill her?” He asked.

“Well for one, I didn’t get there in time. He was already dead by the time I did. Loren killed him. And two.. I don’t know.” I said. He looked at me curiously.

“What else have you learned?” I asked.

“He’s planning something. But he doesn’t trust anyone.. not even his own guards. I don’t believe he’s told a soul of what he’s planning. I tried to find out, but.. The man has gone mad. He killed two servants for being near his quarters. They were just cleaning. Ever since you took the princess.. he’s just insane.” He said.

“I did take his only living heir.” I chuckled.

“Though I do have a few questions about that. Since you named her your slave.. some rumors have gone around that you never broke her in. Is that true?” He asked. I narrowed my eyes at him.

“I have broken her in,” I said, this time.. I really wasn’t lying. I thought about last night and felt.. really good.

“What’s that look?” He asked.

“What look?” I asked as I snapped out of my thoughts.

“The look on your face when you said that. It was almost.. contentment.” He said. I shook my head.

“I don’t know what you mean,” I said.

“Oh don’t try to hide it. I saw the way you looked at her when you thought she was my mate. You were angry. Upset, even.” He said. I shook my head once again.

“Nope,” I said.

“Okay..” he threw up his hands in defeat.

“Besides, she’s my slave. Of course, I’d have to find pleasure in her.” I said.

Loren broke through mind link and spoke.

“My king, Violette has returned with your meals.” He said. I stood up and replied to him.

“Let her in,” I said. The door opened and I watched as she slowly walked in. She had.. happiness on her face. Likely from her friend finding her mate. As much as I didn’t want to believe it, I could tell she really cared about her friends happiness. And it made her happy to see them happy.

She stood at the doorway with a plate piled high with food in each hand.

“You may leave them on the table in the corner of the room,” I said. She did as I said and disappeared behind the doorway.

“Come, let’s eat,” I said to Cedric. He had a smile on his face as he got up and walked out of the office, taking a seat at the table with the food. I followed him out and sat down, Violette standing peacefully by the wall opposite of us, unsure of what to do.

“Mom really showed out, didn’t she?” Cedric asked as he picked up a scallop with a fork.

“Her son is home. Did you expect anything different?” I asked. He shook his head no and laughed.

“Violette, will you begin working in my office?” I asked. She looked up at me with a soft smile and nodded. That’s different. I.. kind of liked it. she smiled.. in my direction. Towards me, of all people.

“Yes, Master. I will.” She replied. I watched her disappear into my office with her cleaning supplies.

When I looked back at Cedric, he had a puckish smile on his face.

“Now, what?” I asked.

“And she responds without you losing your mind?” He asked.

“It irritated me more when she wouldn’t,” I said.

“And I wonder why that is..” he said. I rolled my eyes and plucked a strawberry off my plate and ate it. Goddess, those are good.

“She’s definitely a looker..” he said. I dropped my hand on the table and glared at him.

“What? It’s true. That gown she’s in shows literally everything. Hard not to see when it’s out on display.” He said.

“And how do you think your mate would feel about you saying her best friend is a looker?” I asked. His face slightly paled.

“Best friend? A princess and a servant.. that’s unusual.” He said.

“I thought so too. But.. they’re nearly inseparable.” I said.

“Did you find anything out about the Princess that I’m unaware of?” I asked. I mainly wanted to know if he’d found her mate.. or at least a name.

“From what the servants told me there.. they all loved her and feared her father. She was kind to them, and her father would beat her for being so.” He said. For some reason that angered me. Made my b***d boil in my skin. How could a father beat his only heir for being kind to the low-borns? If anything, that’s what made a queen good. Was being kind.

“Anything about her.. mate?” I asked, lowering my voice just a little in hopes that she wouldn’t hear.

“Nothing. After I got your letter to ask around.. I tried to find anything.. but everyone swore she never found her mate. At least not to their knowledge.” He said. I sat back in my chair and sighed.

When I sent him to Arthur’s kingdom, I gave him a scent mask. It would make him smell like those he was surrounded by, and he truly smells like a servant. It made me chuckle.

“What are you laughing about?” He asked

“You smell just like a servant,” I said. He gave me a death glare.

“Indeed, I’m in need of a shower.” He laughed.
