THE LYCAN KING’S SECOND CHANCE MATE

Chapter 0216

Chapter 0216

KYLE'S POV.

FOUR HOURS LATER.

“I have to go now.” I tell Tessa with a heavy heart as I rise from the couch we are both sitting on. About two hours ago, I got her out of the Harem by lying to the elderly servants to send her over to run some errands for me. Left to me, she'd be out of that Harem by now and living with me in my house. When I first suggested it, she agreed, but after giving it a lot of thought, she asked me to let her stay at the Premium quarters and keep the fact that we were mates a secret until she was ready to deal with all the drama that would come with the announcement.

That's not what I want, but I have to bear with her.

“Two hours with you feels like two minutes.” She says sadly and my heart nearly bursts with pain.

“I know, right?” I heave a sigh and plant a gentle kiss on her lips. “It's been hours since my father summoned me and my phone has been buzzing in my pocket for a while now. It must be him. I need to see him now before he gets more upset than he already is.”

“Is your father a strict man?” She asks calmly. I look at her and smile.

My father is a wild man!

“Why do you ask?”

“I just want to know what to expect when the time comes for me to meet them.”

I take both her hands in mine and kiss them.

“We'll talk about my father some other time.”Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.

“Okay.”

“Yeah. You can stay here for as long you want. Don't be in a rush to go back to the Premium quarters.”

“I'll just nap for a bit and leave later.”

“Alright then, rest up. I'll see you soon .”

“Good bye.”

“Good bye baby.” I exit the bedroom and go downstairs. Once I'm in my car outside, I ignite the car engine and drive straight to my parents house, my mind buzzing with possible reasons why my father could have summoned me. Whenever he does that, it's to discuss something very important.

The closer I get home, the harder my heart beats in my chest.

I might be a full grown, mature adult man now, a Delta too, but my father still terrifies me a little. It's not been long since I had the courage to go against him and began to do things in the way that would please me and not him.

Because I had to succeed him as Delta, my father made sure to never go easy on me. The first thing I was able to understand as a child was the fact that I was going to be Delta in the future. Father never gave me a break. I went through rigorous combat training routines with him on a daily basis. He never let me relax or enjoy free time like the other kids. He'd always tell me relaxation was for ordinary people and that people like us who had a duty towards the pack had to work all the time with no rest.

A terrible thing to tell an eight year old child.

I'm grateful to him for making sure I got the right training. I mean I'm a terrific fighter today all thanks to him, but I wish he had gone easy on me, because as much as I got the skills I needed to be a good leader, I also had some experiences with him that scarred me both physically and emotionally. Like how terrified I am of him right now. He's the last person I ever want to be left alone with in a room.

“Welcome home, Delta Kyle.” The guard who opens my car door greets me with a bow. I step out of the car.

“Thank you, Kane.” I say and head straight into the house where I meet my father waiting for me in the living room.

I have a feeling this is going to be a spine chilling conversation.

“Good day, father.” I greet respectfully as I head to the sitting area, but he turns to look at me, I freeze in my tracks.

He's frowning and that's not a good thing.

Am I going to get a scolding?

“I summoned you three hours ago.” He doesn't hide the annoyance in his voice. I relax my body and clear my throat as I pack up all my courage to meet his gaze.

“I… I was busy.”

“Doing what exactly? What could be more important than showing up when your father summons you?”
