Chapter 310 Not Staying the Night

Elias and Amanda came back to the ward looking happy. The doctor must have told them some good. news. Elias said, “Let’s go, Rosie. I have a tight schedule. There’s something I have to settle later in the afternoon.”

“Sure, Elias. Let’s go.” Rosie got what she came here for, so she had no reason to stay. She turned around to look at the boy. “Goodbye, Aiden. I’m going now” She then smiled politely at Amanda and left the ward.

Amanda still had no idea that Rosie was going to Winters Estate.

“Stay here, Aiden. I’ll see you at night, alright?” Elias approached the bed and patted the boy’s head.

Aiden still looked angry. “I want to leave the hospital too. Daddy. I don’t want to stay here anymore.”

“You can leave soon. The doctor talked to us about the same matter, you see. All you have to do is stay put for a few days, and then you can leave.” A loving smile curled Elias’ lip.

“Come here, Daddy. The boy beckoned at his father, at which Elias huddled closer.

Aiden leaned on his face and whispered, “Daddy, I want to go to the estate. I want… I want to take a bath.” He wanted to say “hot spring session, but he couldn’t remember that term, so he told his father the only other thing about baths he knew.

A bath? Elias frowned. What is he talking about? He can take a shower anywhere, so why the estate? NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

Amanda heard everything too. She held the boy in her arms and said, “You should send her off. I’ll play with Aiden.”

Elias nodded and patted the boy’s head. “We’ll talk later at night. Eat your meals.”

Then, he left.

Yacob followed him and closed the door. Once they were gone, Amanda placed the boy on the bed and placed her hands on the bed around him. “Aiden, why did you want to go to the estate for a bath? You can do it at home.”

“No. I want to do it in the estate. If that weird lady can go, why can’t I? That’s my daddy, and that’s his home. He said his home is my home too.” Aiden was firm about wanting to go to the estate.

That confused Amanda even more. “What weird lady?

That woman earlier. She said she’ll be bathing in Daddy’s estate. I wanna go too. We haven’t even gone to his estate, and we need to go.” Aiden was getting stubborn, and he would not budge on this matter.

The woman earlier? Rosie? Rosie’s going to the Winters Estate? Amanda’s eyes went wide. And Elias let her? Why? She had no idea what Elias was thinking.

Dusk came. Amanda had put the boy to sleep, and Elias came to watch over him. He came into the ward. and saw his son and Amanda asleep on the bed. He walked toward them and patted Amanda’s shoulder to wake her up.

Groggily, Amanda raised her head. She turned around and rubbed her eyes.

“You get some sleep. I’ll keep an eye on him.”

Amanda stood up and stopped Elias before he could sit. “Come with me. We need to talk. Aiden’s asleep. and he won’t wake up for a while.”

They walked out to the corridor and Amanda closed the door carefully.

“So, what are we talking about?” Elias looked at Amanda, who had her back turned to him.

Once the door was closed, Amanda slowly turned around. A long hesitation later, she asked, “Rosie moved into your house?”

A few moments of silence later, he said, “Yes. He didn’t want to ask how she found out. She would find out sooner or later anyway.

“Why?”

“She’s in a weakened state, and the hot spring there can help with recovery, so she’s staying there for a bit. She’ll leave once she feels better, explained Elias.

I see. Still, it sounds preposterous. Rosie must’ve come up with that herself. “Do you think she’s going Amanda asked.

lay low?”

EHas said nothing for a long while. “No idea, but she did donate her marrow and save our son’s life. She just wants a hot spring session, so she can have it.”

He’s always so upright. Amanda knew that Elias would be grateful toward Rosie forever if she offered to donate her marrow. Grace abused the favor of her brother’s sacrifice to gain all of Elias’ love, after all. Wonder what Rosie’s up to this time. Still, I can’t complain, not after she donated her marrow and saved Aiden.

A sigh escaped Amanda’s lips. “Aiden wants to move in as well. He won’t take no for an answer, so what now?”

“Then he may move in. The estate’s a better place for his recovery.” Elias didn’t mind. Of course, his son could stay in his estate.

“You don’t get it, do you? I’m worried Rosie might hurt him. I mean, she was obsessed with you. She had more to say, but she kept quiet. It was just a guess, but it was enough to worry her.

Elias quickly calmed her down, “Calm down. She won’t hurt Aiden. If she wanted to, she would never have donated her marrow. She has probably let go of her obsession with me. It’s been so many years, and she’s embroiled in a murder. If she wishes to lead a normal life, she must come up with a way to clear her

name.”

Elias thought Rosie wanted to move into the estate so she could live under his protection.

Since Elias thought so, Amanda had nothing else to say, nor was there any need to keep the conversation going. “Fine, then I’ll chalk this up to overthinking. We’ll talk about this once Aiden is discharged. I can’t do anything if he insists on moving in.”

Elias said, “You should move in too. He can’t live without you. He needs your care.”

“Yeah, dream on. I left that place, so I have no intention of ever going back. I’ll go for visits every day, but I won’t stay the night. That’s all.” She went into the ward without looking back.

Elias watched her. She was resolute about this, and he sighed before he followed her inside.
