Chapter 2701
The chief ranger had no idea that he had fallen for a trap and left with Frank and the others to get some rest.
In the lounge, Jada was feeling bored and scrolled through her phone when she stumbled on an article, titled 'Rescuer so incompetent, he couldn't even defend himself.'
There was nothing to hide about it, so Jada showed the chief ranger right then, sighing. "Those journalists are horrible, playing word tricks to blame everything on you, when they could report on the incompetence of the rescue leader."
While Jada appeared indignant, the chief leader appeared calm. "They can blame me all they want-it's not our first rodeo.
"The journalists are horrible, but the people in charge shouldn't treat rescue efforts like a game either. As long as it wasn't that dire, they always sent fools to take over command... And when I say command, I mean cause trouble.
"People would die pointlessly because of that, and journalists used to report it unbiased. But if they did, they would either be transferred or fired. That's why they could only resort to buck-passing."
Jada and Moxxi were not sure how they should react to that, and Moxxi flashed a pained smile. "If you're that worried about the journalists, who's going to worry about you? Anyway, the ship has sailed, and action would be taken against you."
The chief ranger laughed. "They can do whatever they like—I'm not afraid. Also, would I go hungry with the powers bestowed upon me? I could work at a construction site instead of sticking with this bunch and ending up causing deaths."
That was when a journalist appeared-or an intern from the looks of it, being scrawny, sporting a bob cut and being only in her twenties.
"Hello." She greeted everyone gingerly. "Were you the gentleman who was interviewed earlier? Can I interview you again?'
Jada quickly said, "Don't bother. The man is going to lose his job because of that interview earlier, or are you that relentless?"
The intern quickly shook her head. "You misunderstand-I'm not here to add insult to injury! I just want to ask about the politics governing Mount Statera, as my colleagues have been transferred after writing certain damning articles As such, would like a clear picture of how things work around here."
The chief ranger stared at her, wondering if he had heard her wrong.
Everyone was just here to make a living, and after learning about the issue plaguing the management, they would not pry anymore, since they would be touching the nerves of big shots.
The fact that an intern had the bravado to go all out against them already set her apart from the rest.
Still, the chief ranger sighed. "Girlie,
it's exactly because you have integrity that I must reject you. I'd were a
help without hesitation if you man, but they really know how to make things horrible for the ladies. So just hear me out, and let this slide."
Even so, the intern shook her head, determined. No, I insist on reporting this! My mentor told me that a
journalist has a duty to report a/met

their findings and to be brave against the sinister So what transferred? It's still way better than not speaking out!"
While the others were left stunned by her determination, Frank stood up. "Let her interview you!"
He had been silent until now, but it was not because he was intimidated by the threat of reprisals.noveldrama
If anything, horrible management pleased him-he loved to go up against such people, or life would really be boring.
