The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella)

Chapter 1683

Blaze's voice wasn't particularly loud, but it came through the phone clearly

enough. Cassie frowned at what she heard. Mira still not awake? Mira? Was he talking about her sister?

James glanced at Blaze and his friends, shaking his head slightly. Blaze noticed James was on the phone and immediately quieted down, putting the stuff he'd bought on a nearby table without saying a word.

James walked over to the window with his phone, addressing Cassie's earlier question. "She's caught up with school stuff. But if there's something important, I can pass on a message."

Cassie found it odd that a simple phone call would need a message relayed. Her gut told her something was off, and her playful mood vanished. "Hang on, I heard someone over there say my sister isn't awake yet. Is something wrong with her?"

James was surprised by her intuition but kept his tone steady. "No, nothing's wrong."noveldrama

Cassie wasn't buying it. Her instincts were usually spot-on, and she was sure the guy on the phone wasn't being truthful. No way she misheard.

A sense of unease crept over Cassie, even changing her voice. "Something's happened to my sister, hasn't it? Don't try to lie to me."

James was taken aback by her certainty. After a moment of silence, he decided to come clean. "She might have been drugged and is currently unconscious."

"Impossible! My sister wouldn't just pass out from some drug," Cassie said almost instinctively. With her sister's resilience, how could she be knocked out by drugs? Did they really underestimate her that much? "Why do you say that?" James asked, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"She... well, normal drugs wouldn't work on her," Cassie stammered, quickly changing the subject. "Can you tell me exactly what's going on with her?" James sensed there was more to her words, like she knew Mirabella's condition well.

He looked back at Blaze and the others gathered around the hospital bed, then stepped out of the room. Outside, not wanting to miss any opportunity, James briefly recounted the day's events and the doctor's findings.

Cassie listened, her youthful face suddenly looking much older and more serious. She'd often overheard the elders and leaders discussing why the Stevenson family stayed hidden from the world. Theiro miraculous medical skills, advanced technology, and certain unique abilities were always coveted by outsiders. Years ago, her sister had fallen into the hands of those lunatics. So, had they found her again? Cassie's eyes narrowed as she tossed the jacket she had draped over her arm onto a nearby chair. If those people were involved, her sister was indeed in danger.

Regaining her composure, Cassie asked, "How long has it been since my sister fell unconscious?" James checked the time, unsure why she was asking, but answered quickly, "Over six hours."

Cassie frowned. Over six hours

already... She decided against

changing clothes, yanking open the locker room door and heading out. "Send me the address. I'm coming over right now..." But halfway through, Cassie remembered her sister was abroad. She groaned in frustration, correcting herself, "Do I need some kind of documents to travel internationally?"

With only a black-market ID, how was she supposed to get proper documents in

time?!
