The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella)

Chapter 1663

Jim had just settled back in the living room when Mirabella and Grady made their way downstairs. The mansion was enormous, and after a casual half-hour stroll, they had only managed to explore a third of it.

As they approached, Grady noticed a rare sparkle of joy in Keir's eyes- something he hadn't seen since Nellie passed away. Even though Keir had been happy to meet Miss Mira earlier, this joy seemed deeper, more genuine. Grady glanced thoughtfully at the butler, wondering if this unexpected happiness was tied to someone Keir had just met. Unaware of Grady's thoughts, Jim waved his niece over, inviting her to sit. "So, what do you think, kiddo?"

Mirabella blinked in awe. "It's magnificent!"

This was the essence of high society. Walking through the house, she felt even the air was infused with the scent of wealth.

Jim chuckled, "If you like it, Mira, why not stay here in Chester for a few more days?"

He thought about suggesting she move in, but knew his brother might not be thrilled with that idea.

Mirabella sighed, "I'm afraid I can't. I have to go back with the professor and the others tomorrow."

"Is that so..." Jim's voice carried a hint of disappointment. After a pause, he suggested, "You've come all this way; maybe Grady could talk to your professor and get you a few extra days?"noveldrama

Jim felt a natural fondness for Mirabella, a bond he attributed to their family ties.

"Yeah, Miss Mira, it's not every day you get to visit. Why not stick around a bit longer?" Grady added, still pondering what Mirabella had said about Keir's health.

Seeing the concern on Grady's face, Mirabella took a moment before saying, "Alright, I'll call my professor later."

She was still uneasy about Chester's health, so a few extra days wouldn't hurt. Jim's spirits lifted when his niece agreed, though he couldn't help feeling a bit put out, casting a sidelong glance at Grady.

It seemed Grady had more influence over his niece than he did.

Hit by a sudden wave of jealousy, Jim cleared his throat and said with mock seriousness, "No problem Grady can ask for you. He's got plenty of free time, and asking in person is much more sincere."

Grady:

What was Keir talking about? A simple phone call would do!

Mirabella started, "No need, I can just call—"

But Jim interrupted, raising a hand, and turned to Grady, "Grady, why don't you

head out now? It's no trouble for you today."

Grady, unsure of how he had offended Keir, simply replied, "...Not at all."

Jim nodded, ignoring Grady's confused look. Then, remembering something, he added, "By the way, I know you haven't taken a vacation in ages. Let's give you a few extra days off to relax."

Grady: "..."

So that was the point? Grady's expression turned complex, imagining the council elders witnessing Keir's childish antics. They'd surely be wide-eyed in disbelief.
