The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella)

Chapter 1658

Jim paused for a moment, then stood up from the couch. "No, I'll go."

"But..." Grady hesitated, about to suggest that the visitor might have an agenda, but when he caught Keir's eye, he swallowed his words. "Alright then."

He knew the weight Keir carried in his heart. Even if the visitor was trying to stir up old memories, Keir would probably still meet them.

"Okay." Jim glanced out the window at his niece playing outside and added, "Keep an eye on her for a bit; I'll be right back."

He turned to the butler, instructing, "Take him over to the building next door."

The butler nodded promptly. "Yes, sir."

By the time Mirabella returned to the hall, Jim had already slipped through the side door leading to the adjacent building.

Mirabella took a quick look, then shifted her gaze away.

"Miss Mira, how about a little tour? Chester had to step out, but he'll be back soon," Grady offered, motioning upstairs.

"Sure thing," Mirabella replied with a smile, trailing behind Grady as they climbed the stairs.

They took their time ascending to the second floor.

With her hands tucked in her pockets, Mirabella absentmindedly fiddled with her phone, still mulling over the family head's issues. She looked up at Grady and asked, "Uncle, I sent Nick with some herbal remedies for Chester last time. Has he been taking them?"

Grady slowed down, caught off guard by the question. After a brief pause, he said, "I think he has, but Keir's daily care is mostly handled by the butler. I'll check with him."

"Alright," Mirabella responded softly.

"Is something up, Miss Mira? Is Keir not well?" Grady, aware of Mirabella's medical skills, doubted she'd bring it up without reason.

Mirabella nodded, choosing not to

concerns." Grady's expression

dropping with worry. "Is it serious?"

Noticing Grady's concern, Mirabella thought for a moment before replying, "I'll need to give him a proper check to be sure."

Though she had her suspicions, she didn't want to jump to conclusions before confirming.

Grady was quiet for a bit, then said, "Honestly, Keir seems better now than he did a few years back."

After Nellie disappeared, Keir became a shell of himself, weighed down by family obligations. It wasn't until Miss Mira returned a couple of years@go and Keir saw her on a show with Leo that he seemed to perk up.

With the herbal remedies from Miss Mira, Keir accepted them without fuss, and they really did help his health. Even though he hadn't seen Miss Mira in person, he kept an eye on her from afar.

Keir was never one to wear his heart on his sleeve, and even if he had feelings for someone, he kept them close to the chest.

Listening to Grady, Mirabella's eyes wandered to the observation deck at the corridor's end, her gaze sharpening. "Some things only look good on the surface."noveldrama

Like an apple that looks perfect on the outside but is rotten inside.

Grady opened his mouth, but words failed him, unsure how to continue or what to ask.

Mirabella pulled her gaze back and gave Grady a reassuring wink. "Don't worry, Uncle, I've got this."

Her Chester was still young, and even if his health was shaky, it wouldn't lead to anything drastic out of the blue.
