Chapter 601
Chapter 601
"Hmm." Winter nodded, giving Suzy's hand a quick squeeze. "You understand me. I've got to stop by Xavier's company later, so I can't hang with you all. Just let me out at the next corner, okay?"
"Sure!"
Once Winter stepped out, sunglasses on and in disguise, Suzy's smile vanished. She settled into her seat, quiet as a mouse.
Jane noticed Suzy's quick switch from cheery to serious. "I thought you and Winter were close?"
Suzy turned to her. "Of course. You know that, right? We've always been super close!" However, as she spoke, her face told a different story.
Jane arched an eyebrow, sensing something off, but she was not about to dive into that drama. "Whatever's going on with you and Winter, just keep me out of it."
"Don't worry, Jane. I'm not one to start trouble. Besides, I'm Winter's pal. Everything I do, I do for Winter's sake."
Jane gave Suzy a long, hard look, shook her head a little, and dropped the topic.
They followed Ronald's car until they pulled up at a restaurant. Suzy and Jane got out without a word.
Ronald was leaning casually against his car door. He did not seem surprised to see just the two of them. "Come on. I've gotten us a table."
Seeing Ronald did not care to chat about Winter, the girls wisely kept quiet on the subject and quickly caught up to him.
"Mr. Wells, you're here?"
The restaurant manager spotted Ronald the moment he walked in, clearly recognizing him as Charles's right-hand man. Without missing a beat, he whisked the trio off to private room. "I've kept your favorite spot open. Will this do?" Content
"Perfect. Hand the menus to the ladies," Ronald said, smoothly pulling out chairs for Jane and Suzy. He ensured they were seated before he gestured for them to start picking out their dishes.
Jane and Suzy could not quite shake off their nerves around Ronald, who seemed as cool as a cucumber, idly drumming his fingers on the tabletop. Once the girls had made their choices, Ronald leaned in. "You know, even if you hadn't come to me, I was already on the verge of making a call."
Both Suzy and Jane perked up. Their eyes were locked on Ronald, eager for the scoop.
Ronald's lips quirked into a half-smile. "Winter's got talent and looks. She's the darling of Royal Star Entertainment. Getting her to Collosus Group's big bash would be a major win."
Jane let out a relieved chuckle. "Mr. Wells, you've got an eye for talent."
Ronald's eyebrow arched playfully. "You think so?"
A wave of anxiety washed over Jane. "Wait, is Winter not making the cut this time?"
"It's not that," Ronald reassured her. "But let's be real-I'm the assistant. I can pass along names, but the final say is Mr. Hoffman's."
"Mr. Wells, didn't Mr. Hoffman give
you the reins of Royal Star Entertainment? Jane had only found that out recently, which was, why she had boldly come to see. Ronald Maybe that clueless Winter did not know what Ronald could do, but Jane had made it her business to Tearn about the big shots at Royal Star Entertainment during that time. She had discovered that Charles had hardly bothered with the company's affairs, leaving all the
decision-making to Ronald. Content
Basically, any resources Royal Star Entertainment's stars had access to would have gone through Ronald, and Charles might not have even been clued in. So, Ronald had been way more than just Charles's assistant.Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
Ronald chuckled at her comment. "Ms. Gordon, you seem to have a pretty good grasp on who's who at Royal Star Entertainment!"
