“Mr. Leopold is a busy man. No need for him to come by daily. Just drop in when he has time to see
the kid.” Leopold frowned.
This woman was pushing him away with a whiff of coyness?
“My visits are none of your business.”
“I know.” Aurelia was always clear–headed. He was here to see the children, not her.
For Laura, if the master is visiting the children, he’s visiting Aurelia. There’s no difference.
She went back to her room to binge–watch her shows, not disturbing their little world.
The living room fell into a brief silence.
Aurelia had some soup, then said with a playful tone, “Mr. Leopold, though I may not be the mother you
envisaged for the children, I do have a perk.”
“What perk?” Leopold raised an eyebrow.
She stroked her belly, “The chance of having twins is relatively small. Not every woman could get
pregnant with twins, you know?”
She had made his only healthy seed bear two fruits. Shouldn’t he thank her?
He couldn’t refute that.
“So?”
“So, you’re the biggest beneficiary with no loss. And I’m the one who has to suffer. I have to sacrifice
my figure, my virginity, and become a married woman. Quite a tragedy.” She dropped her head,
pouted, and made a face.
This made Leopold feel both exasperated and amused, “Didn’t you get what you wanted the most?”
Isn’t instant wealth the ultimate dream of a miser?
She looked up at him, “You’re not talking about money, are you? Although money is a good thing and I
can’t live without it, it can’t buy everything. There are things that money can’t buy.”
He looked deeply into her eyes, his eyes twinkling faintly, “Like what?”
“Love. No matter how much money you have, you can’t buy a person who truly loves you.” She said

Aurelia made a face, “Desiring love is a basic human need. How can that be considered greed? Don’t
you hope for a loved one to be by your side, growing old together?”
The moment she said it, she regretted it.

Leopold fell silent.

She picked up the remote and turned on the TV.
Better to watch her shows, to soothe her lonely, single heart.

“This actor is so handsome! They say, in the entertainment industry, getting famous is on effort, while
getting extremely famous is destined. If only our Avery could land such a blockbuster role someday.”
She stroked her belly, murmuring to herself.
Leopold cast a glance at her, “You’ve already done enough for him. The rest is up to him.”
Aurelia guessed that since Avery had offended him before, he must hold some prejudice against him.
“Our Avery is very innocent. If you treat him well, he’ll reciprocate doubly.”
