Chapter 1260
Chapter 1260
Aurelia traced a teasing circle on his chest with her fingertip and said with a playful lilt, "So you better
not turn out like him."
Leopold caught her hand, "I'm just an ordinary guy, and I only have eyes for you."
She gave him a coquettish side-eye, "How could an ordinary man only have eyes for me?"
"It's loyal," he said with a sly grin spreading across his lips.
Aurelia couldn't help but giggle at that, wrapping her arms around his neck, "Well, if it's that well-
behaved, I guess I'll have to take extra good care of it." Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Leopold responded with a soft kiss on her lips.
"Babe, we've got to be honest with each other. No secrets, no lies, okay?" he said earnestly.
Aurelia blinked, sensing an undertone in his words. Maybe it was because she had her own secrets to
guard.
"What if I had to lie? Would you forgive me?"
"Of course, you're my only wife. What choice would I have? But it would still break my heart," Leopold
admitted openly.
Aurelia felt a wave of unease.
She longed to reveal the truth about William, the words always teetering on the tip of her tongue. But
she had promised William, and she couldn't let him down. He was too sensitive.
Deciding to steer away from the conversation, she turned off the TV and said, "I'm getting sleepy. Wake
me up when it's time for dinner."
Leopold let out a weary sigh as he tucked her in. The enigma that was William still loomed large in his
heart. He would wait for the day she was ready to tell the truth.
After making sure she was comfortable, he left the room and headed to the hall where William emerged
from the bathroom.
Leopold swooped the boy up onto his shoulders, "Buddy, we need to talk."
"About what?" William asked, puzzled.
Leopold led him to the study.
"William, your mom has told me everything."
William's heart skipped a beat, leaping to his throat. Had Aurelia betrayed his trust and revealed his
origins to Leopold?
But seeing Leopold's calm demeanor, he dismissed the thought. If Aurelia had really spilled the beans,
Leopold wouldn't be this composed. There would have been a huge fight because Leopold wasn't
known for his patience.
"Uncle Leopold, what did my mom tell you?"
Leopold sat him down on the couch, looking him straight in the eye, "Your mom said that you're not
Arnold's biological son. You're my son, our Liam."
William tensed up again. This was the first time Leopold had bluntly addressed the situation.
Even if Aurelia hadn't said anything, Leopold must be harboring doubts.
Hadn't there already been a DNA test? Why the suspicion? Could it be that he thought the test results
were falsified?
"Back home, such documents can be bought for the right price," Leopold said matter-of-factly.
"It's him who's trying to take my son," Leopold retorted coldly, deliberately testing William.
William crossed his arms and looked up defiantly.
"What makes you think I'm your Liam? I don't even look like you." Updated at Draмаnоvеls.cоm
In a swift move, Leopold plucked a hair from his head, "We'll see about that after a test."
Panicked by the gesture, William started to cry, "Meanie. Why did you pull my hair? It hurts. Give it
back."
His crying escalated, "I hate Uncle Leopold. I hate you the most."
