Chapter 107 I'Ve Seen Many Women Like You
Joseph became more relieved after Magnus pulled Benjamin away. He looked at Hayden and said,
“Let’s go, you’re not his mother. Magnus will take good care of him.”
Hayden came to her senses, looked into the room, and then rubbed her nose and smiled awkwardly,
“It’s a habit. Benjamin is about the same age as Freddie. I miss my brother and that’s why I felt like
caring for him. Perhaps others will find this strange.” It was better that she didn’t mention Freddie but
once she did, Joseph’s expression turned even darker.
“Do you treat brothers and sisters as trash that you can pick up anywhere?” Joseph scoffed.
“Trash?” Hayden glared at him and demanded, “What trash? I accidentally hit Benjamin, how many
times must I say this?”
“Then what about Freddie?” Joseph glared at her and continued, “Was he hit by you as well? Looks
like you are fearless since young. To think that you went to the underground fight club when you were
fifteen!”
Hayden was stunned, “How do you know about this?”
From Joseph’s tone, he had already done a thorough background check on Freddie. Joseph even
found out that Freddie was a fighter at the underground fight club before he was adopted by the
Downey family.
“Are there very few people who knew about this?” Joseph’s expression became rather stern and
continued, “He wanted to become a celebrity but his pasts were liabilities and if they weren’t cleansed,
who knows when it will resurface and deal him a massive blow.”
What he said sent a chill down Hayden’s spine and then she realized that she had not contacted
Freddie for a while after she came back from the Maldives.
Hayden also heaved a sigh of relief when she went along with Joseph’s suggestion to let Benjamin stay
at the hotel. That night she packed Stella’s luggage and planned to take her to the office the next day
before sending her to Joseph’s place after work.
“Noah!” Stella released Hayden’s hand and ran towards the main lobby. Hayden looked over and saw
Mark holding onto Noah’s hand and looked like they had just arrived.
“As soon as little Noah woke up, he kept insisting on seeing you, Ms. Downey. Since today was a
weekday, I figured out that you would be working and so I brought little Noah here.”
Mark looked and saw Hayden pulling a kiddie suitcase. His eyes lit up and said, “This must be little
Stella’s suitcase. I’ll put the suitcase in the car first and I can take them back together later.”
It looked like Joseph had informed his servants about Stella going over to his place for the summer
holidays.
Hayden didn’t reject and gave the luggage to Mark. With one kid on either side of her, she led them
towards the reception room and arranged for someone to bring them some fruits and snacks. She told
them tenderly, “I still have to work and cannot stay with you. Just play here and don’t run about, can
you do that? Stella must look after Noah, okay?”
On hearing, Stella immediately jumped down from the sofa, saluted, and said, “I guarantee that I will
complete the mission.”
Hayden smiled warmly and left the reception room.
She could stay with the kids on a regular day but today there was a group of film crew that would arrive
to stay at the hotel. She looked at the name list and noticed that Viola was on the list. Thus, she felt
that today could be tricky and she must not be distracted.
She just arrived at the office and before long, the phone rang to inform her that the group had arrived.
“Ms. Downey, we shouldn’t be so nervous. Isn’t it said that Viola is Mr. Beckham’s fiancée? I’m sure
that she would not make things difficult for us for the sake of Mr. Beckham.” Jeff whispered to Hayden
which drew a glare from her.
“Who told you that she’s Mr. Beckham’s fiancée?” Hayden asked.
“Everyone said so, especially those tabloids.” Jeff retorted.
Hayden was about to reproach him as several cars stopped and the assistants and security guards
cordoned off the fans before the celebrities entered the main lobby. All the fans were kept outside the
hotel.
“The rooms are ready. This is our room manager and she will bring you to your rooms.” Hayden politely
explained to the leader of the group and was brief and concise.
Before the group leader could speak, a voice was heard, “Ms. Downey, it’s been a long time since we
last met. So you are working here now! Congratulations.”
Hayden looked up and saw Viola removing her sunglasses as she arrogantly raised her chin.
Hayden stood in place and calmly replied, “Thanks.”
“Since we are friends, there isn’t a need for the room manager to bring me up. Can I trouble you to
walk with me to my room and we can also chat along the way?”
Hayden agreed as she couldn’t reject her in front of so many people. She instructed the room manager
to organize the rest of the film crew’s check-in and she led Viola and her agent to the suite on the
twelfth floor.
“Based on the previous request, the room temperature had been set at twenty seven degrees Celsius. Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
The humidifier had been running to ensure the air humidity of the room. The room was sprayed with
your favorite perfume…”
“Okay, I know that you are very capable.” Viola coldly interrupted Hayden, “You don’t have to show me
how capable you are. I personally experienced this. One trip to the Maldives and you were able to
snatch away someone’s fiancé. Hayden, you are truly capable!”
The large living room of the suite echoed Viola’s shrill and Hayden could hear the anger in her voice.
The outburst was totally directed towards her.
Hayden frowned and pondered for a moment before responding, “I’m sorry, Ms. Kidman. I don’t
understand what you mean. I never intentionally affected your marriage and neither did I
unintentionally.”
“Oh stop it. Do you take me for a fool? Don’t act innocent and pure. Who are you putting up this act
for? Do you dare to say with a clear conscience that you have no feelings for Joseph?”
Viola was furious as she held in these words for a long time. She was trying on her wedding gown
when she received the call from Joseph’s assistant. She almost fainted when she was informed that
the wedding was canceled.
“I’ve seen many women like you. You act independent and strong while you utilize work to draw closer
to Joseph. Even we professional actors are no match for vixens like you.”
Hayden frowned as she endured Viola’s slander. Her gaze was frosty and cold when she looked up
and said, “Ms. Kidman, you better watch what you say.”
She was responsible in her work and respectful to the guests but that did not mean that she had to
endure all sorts of verbal abuse.
