Talk to me
Roman’s POV
“Hey, baby.” I said as Sofie walked into the study with a wan smile caressing her face.
“Hi. How was work?” She asked, standing with her back against the desk, and her hand tracing lines down my face.
“Work was work. How did your first day back at college go? Did you have fun?” I asked, standing up to wrap my arms around her waist.
She averted her gaze from me to stare at the bookshelf behind me, “Yeah, I did. Let’s talk about something else. Something unrelated to school or education or professors and whatnot.” She rambled out, hazel eyes restlessly darting around like she was being chased.
I could see pure, unadulterated fear twinkling in her eyes as she unknowingly clutched tightly to my shirt.
Something was clearly up because I knew and has witnessed first-hand how Sofie had been so excited in the car this morning.
“Baby, are you okay?” I asked, lacing my hands through hers.
She smiled; a false, weary grin that didn’t quite crease her eyes and nodded.
“You know I may not be the best advisor in the world but I promise you I’m a good listener. If something went wrong today, you know you can tell me, right?” I said, fondly squeezing her hand.
She sighed and stared at me with mild annoyance contorting her face, “Yeah, I know and I’m telling you that I’m fine. I’m fucking fine and I’m not a damsel in distress that needs to be looked after all the time. I just want to suck your cock in peace without hearing about school.”
I was taken aback by her disdain-dripping tone that I didn’t move or utter a word as she sank down to her knees, unbuckled my pants and rolled it down with my briefs before she took my cock into her hand and jerked it off; with agonizing, lethargic motions.
Sofie seemed dazed as she absentmindedly stroked my dick while muttering something to herself.
I had never seen this side of her before in the four weeks since we had been living together and it terrified me.
She seemed like a shell shocked soldier with PTSD and I couldn’t take it anymore, so I tried to hoist her up but she remained knelt and unyielding in front of me.
It was obvious she was trying to force herself to enjoy it.
“Cara, no. It’s enough, you are not okay like you claim to be. Something is clearly wrong with you, so I will ask you again and I want you to tell me the truth, are you okay?” I asked which made her halt her ministrations, sigh and then get up from the tiled floor.
I buttoned up my pants and stared at her, waiting for her next move.
“Why are you so hellbent on getting me to lie? I’m okay, Roman. If I wasn’t okay, would I want this?” She tiptoed and crashed our lips together as she clung on to me for dear life.
“You are not enjoying this,” I countered, unbuttoning her shirt, “Why are you wearing a long sleeve shirt indoors? Do you feel cold? Y-” I stopped my sentence midway, on sighting a scandalous, purplish hickey on Sofie’s clavicle.
I was lost for words as my hands trembled with a mixture of emotions ranging from anger to disappointment to sadness and then back to unfiltered rage.
“Who did this?” I barked, pressing onto her collarbone, ignoring the way she painfully winced.
In response, she burst into tears and just shook her head, “I’m sorry. I didn’t want you to find out about this, I thought I would be able to hide it but I just couldn’t b-”
“Sofie, I just asked you a simple question which I expect you to answer smartly like the intelligent person you are. Who gave you a fucking lovebite?” I asked, my voice calmer by a reasonable crescendo.
She couldn’t be possibly cheating on me, could she? I mean, it wasn’t like we were romantically bounded to each other but the mere thought that something like that was possible made ire bubble within me.
I tried to hold on to the hope that Sofie couldn’t possibly do so in my heart but the fact that she wasn’t saying anything logical pissed me off to no end.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
“Say something, damn it. Have you gone dumb?” I spat, glaring at her.
Guilt tinged with hurt panged within me as she kept crying and shaking her head.
“Y-You’re hurting me, Roman. Please let me go, it hurts.” She cried, desperately trying to wriggle her hand free from my grip without success.
“I don’t want to hurt you either but you le-” I cut myself short as the Sofie’s shirt sleeve rode up, to show a painfully-red bruise on her wrist.
She stopped trying to free herself and just sighed while I assessed the injury. That was when it hit me; the bittersweet realization that Sofie hadn’t cheated but was sexually assaulted.
I didn’t utter a word as I kissed the side of her neck before pulling her into a warm hug, “I’m sorry, baby. I didn’t mean to scare you.”
Her breath hitched as she wept into my shirt, “I-I’m sorry too. I have no idea what I was thinking when I decided to hide it from you. I thought you’d be disappointed in me.”
I pulled back to gaze into her teary eyes, “Disappointed? For what?”
She shuddered, “I-I don’t know. Probably because I let it happen.”
“Oh, tesoruccio, don’t say that. The bastard who did this is to be blame. But tell me, he didn’t go further than this, did he?” I asked, my heart heavy with trepidation and fury.
She shook her head and I heaved a sigh of relief, “No, he didn’t. I hit his head with a vase before he could.”
“That’s good. You are so brave and I’m proud of you.” I said, brushing her forehead with a kiss.
“You think so?”
“No. I know so. Would you like to tell me who did this to you now?” I asked, tucking a stray stand of hair behind her ear.
She shook her head again, “Not yet but I will tell you soon.”
I nodded as I darted her a smile, even though I knew I couldn’t and wouldn’t wait for soon.
I wasn’t a calm person. I would find the son of a bitch who dared to touch my woman, and make them pay for their sins, I thought as I smirked to myself.
