The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 785

Chapter 785

Isaac’s face was as cold as ice. “Cut the crap. Brittany and I have made up.”

A divorce trip?

Leo was engaged; didn’t he wish Brittany was single? He must still hadn’t given up on her!

Leo was well aware of their reconciliation. All the recent happenings at Grandeur Capital had made it to the Twitter trend list. As cities interconnected, Leo, being in H city, had some idea about their reconciliation. Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

He couldn’t quite grasp it. They had been at each other’s throats, and suddenly they were back together. Was it true love or was there a hidden agenda?

Leo had harbored feelings for Brittany, but they were unreciprocated.

Even so, Leo hoped for Brittany’s happiness, both as a friend and an admirer.

“Mr. Salter, cherish your reconciliation, or there are plenty who would love a chance with Ms. Dustin.”

Leo chuckled lightly. There were many in the circle who fancied Brittany, but after all the twists and turns, she chose Isaac. Isaac’s face tightened.

Seeing Isaac go silent, Leo lost interest in tangling with him. After a few words with Brittany, he turned to leave.

“Wait.” Brittany, remembering Stella, called out to Leo.

“Leo, do you know where Thomas Martinez is?”

Thomas was the illegitimate child of the Martinez family. Leo might have some idea of his whereabouts.

Leo’s expression changed slightly, clearly aware of the situation.

“Ms. Dustin,” he hesitated, “I advise you not to look into this and stay away from him.”

Thomas was nothing short of a lunatic.

“The only thing I can say is that Stella is still alive. He may be mad, but he truly cares for Stella. Stay out of it.”

Leo left with his fiancée.

Learning that Stella was still alive, Brittany sighed in relief.

Isaac glared at Leo’s retreating figure, his face dark. “He used to have a crush on you.”

Brittany detected the hint of jealousy. “I turned him down.”

Apart from that, she and Leo were business partners. Saying hello was only polite..

Isaac’s face darkened. “Are you still going to work with him?”

“The project has been going smoothly. In the next few years, if there are suitable ones, I’ll consider it.”

From a business perspective, Leo was a good partner.

Isaac didn’t want her to work with Leo, but he also didn’t want to interfere with her business. He grudgingly kept quiet.

Once they found a table, Brittany ordered some food. Isaac was still somewhat sullen.

Brittany poured him a cup of water and slid it in front of him, softening her voice. “Leo and I are just business partners. He’s engaged and will be married soon. There won’t be any personal contact.”

Isaac was possessive, a fact Brittany had experienced firsthand.

Isaac held her hand, delicate and slender, with distinct joints, irresistibly beautiful.

“I’m not trying to interfere with your business.”

He just felt that he was superior not only to William but also to Leo.

Five years ago, he had indeed hurt Brittany. He had claimed to be doing it for her good but had ended up hurting her the most. He needed more time and opportunities to make up for it.

“I know, but Leo and I are just business partners,” Brittany reassured him, her tone as gentle as if she were coaxing a child. “So, don’t worry about things you shouldn’t, okay?”

Isaac nodded.

After dinner, they returned to the hotel.

Isaac received a call from Nathan and stepped out to meet him.

As soon as he left, Brittany exited the hotel.

The hotel was watched over by Isaac’s people, and Daniel stayed at the hospital. Everything was safe.

Brittany left the hotel and, based on the address provided by Joseph, took a cab to a residential building in the west side of the city.

According to Joseph’s investigation, a researcher in H city who had been involved in studying the HSE12 virus resided here.

The residential building, about thirty years old, looked quite worn.

The neighborhood was large and full of life.
