Chapter 780
Chapter 780
The assistant was already waiting in the private dining room. “Ms. Dustin.”
Brittany approached and happened to spot the director, so she greeted him.
“Ms. Dustin, I owe you one this time.”
Brittany had provided a generous amount of jewelry, ensuring the shooting could continue.
“It’s the least i could do.”
The place was crowded, and after exchanging a few pleasantries, the director left to attend to other guests.
Brittany and her assistant settled down, and the assistant leaned in to whisper. “Ms. Dustin, you’ve been away from the set for a while. You wouldn’t believe how exciting the filming has been.”
The actress who replaced Stella Thorne was quite talented. C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.
“Is that so?” Brittany poured herself a cup of water.
“Indeed, I heard Joie has landed a new role. The assistant couldn’t help but marvel at the fact that despite Joie’s notoriety, being backed by the Salter family meant she had endless resources.
A new role?
Brittany, gripping her glass, her eyes glittered strangely.
“What’s this new role?”
“It’s said to be a period drama,” the assistant pondered, “Sponsored by Grandeur Capital.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes. Rumor has it Joie and Marcel are getting close.”
There were even paparazzi shots of them dining together.
“Is that so?” Brittany pulled out her phone, and sure enough, there were a fair amount of rumors about Marcel and Joie online. Even some particularly intimate photos.
Brittany bundled the news, and anonymously, sent it to Zella.
She once regarded Zella as a friend, and this was her way of giving her a heads up.
After sending the email, Brittany heard a commotion.
Joie had arrived. She was dressed to the nines, with a necklace worth over a million, glimmering and shining.
The entire cast and crew treated Joie quite well.
Joie spotted Brittany in the crowd and greeted her. “Ms. Dustin.”
“Joie, Ms. Dustin and Mr. Salter are back together, so she is your sister-in-law.”
The assistant deliberately said.
Joie gave a charming smile. “They haven’t gotten their certificate yet. I’m sure Ms. Dustin won’t mind, right?”
Brittany could see through Joie’s intentions. “When we get our certificate, you’ll be the first to know.”
Joie bit her lip. She certainly didn’t want to accompany Isaac in rising from the ashes, but that didn’t mean she could stand to see Brittany and Isaac together.
The assistant sighed sulkily.
Brittany watched as Joie had quite a few drinks, eventually making a trip to the restroom.
Brittany, mindful of the time when Daniel had a fall, followed her.
Joie was in the restroom, touching up her makeup in front of the mirror when her phone rang. Annoyed, she assumed it was her assistant calling.
Joie picked it up irritably. “What’s the rush? I told you, I’m in the restroom.”
“Hello, this is Leda.”
Joie’s expression slightly changed. “Leda, what can I do for you?”
“I heard you’ve been seeing Marcel quite a lot recently?”
Leda was well aware of Joie’s machinations for quite some time, choosing not to expose them as she knew that Marcel would never fall for Joie.
But Marcel actually wanted to marry Zella?
“Ma’am, you know about it too?”
Joie wore a triumphant look in her eyes. Although Marcel had initially been distant, she had confidence in her own attractiveness and believed that she could win Marcel over eventually.
Indeed, after a few chance encounters, Marcel’s demeanor softened.
A few simple exchanges, and rumors of them quickly circulated within their social circle.
“I can’t control Marcel’s affairs, just be sure to measure your actions.” Leda squinted her eyes as she continued, “I heard that little brat took a tumble a while back? You wouldn’t happen to have anything to do with that, would you?”
Joie didn’t deny it, “Yes, that brat was quite sensible. Even though he knew it was me, he kept it a secret from the Salter family. I was worried for nothing.”
Brittany felt a chill run down her spine as she heard Joie’s words.
