Chapter 762
Chapter 762
“What kind of poison? Did it severely affect you? Are there any lasting effects?”
It seemed like William was oblivious to the whole matter.
Brittany shook her head as she recounted the events of five years ago.
After listening to everything, Williamn took a sharp intake of breath. “Bri, I had no idea about the poisoning.”
Brittany knew his nature, and she knew he wouldn’t lie. “William, thank you for saving me five years ago. If you ever need anything, feel free to contact me.” William reached out to pat her head, but then thought better of it and withdrew his hand awkwardly. “Alright.”
Before he left, he seemed to remember something. “Bri, when I found you five years ago, you were in a terrible state. There was a doctor who contacted me, claiming he could help you. Perhaps he’s the one who detoxified you.”
“Who was it?” Brittany figured that person might have some information.
He was wearing a mask, so I couldn’t make out his face.” William was entirely focused on Brittany’s condition back then. He didn’t have the capacity to care about the person’s identity.
“I see.
After William left, Brittany took a short rest for a few hours.
When she woke up, there was an extra bed in her room. And Isaac was leaning against the headboard with a thick stack of papers in front of him.
Nathan was waiting nearby. After seeing her awake, he quickly greeted her. “Ms. Dustin, you’re awake.”
“Uh-huh.” Brittany woke up feeling a bit thirsty.
Noticing her movement, Isaac poured her a glass of water and handed it to her, signaling Nathan to take away the papers. “Rest for the next few days. No more hospital visits.”
After Nathan left, Isaac got off the bed.
Brittany eyed him as he approached. “What are you doing?”
Isaac leaned in and kissed her lips as his large hand held her waist. “I wanted to kiss you.”
After five long years, he almost wished he could swallow Brittany whole.
Brittany noticed his change. Memories from five years ago came flooding back to her, making her face flush crimson.
Isaac only released her once he had his fill.
“Are you moving back to Radiant Residences after discharge, Bri?”
“No. Let’s move to the house we bought previously.”
She wasn’t fond of Radiant Residences.
Isaac didn’t mind. “Alright.”
After an hour of cuddling, Grace arrived with Daniel.
“Daddy, Mommy!”
Daniel had been cooped up at home with Emily for over a month. He rarely visited the hospital.
As soon as he entered the room and saw them embracing, his eyes widened.
Were his mom and dad back together?
Isaac released Brittany and beckoned him over. “Come here.”
Daniel quickly moved forward and hugged Isaac. “Daddy, are you and Mommy back together?”
Isaac pinched his face. “At the moment, yes.”
Daniel’s eyes lit up, and he cupped Brittany’s hand, planting sloppy kisses on it.
Brittany didn’t mind, and then she picked him up. “Alright, alright, no more kisses. If you keep going, Mommy’s hand will be ruined.”
While clinging to her neck, Daniel murmured softly, I missed you, Mommy.”
Brittany missed him too and spent a long time coping him.
Now that they had reconciled, Grace heaved a sigh of relief. “Zac, it’s good that you and Bri made up. Live well.”
Brittany gave her a charming smile. “Granny, thank you for taking care of Daniel during this time. After I get discharged, Zac and I plan to move to the house we bought previously. If you have time, feel free to come and stay for a while.”
Grace felt a bit dazed after she heard Brittany call her granny, and she quickly nodded her head. “Alright, alright. Granny will definitely come. As long as you two are good, Granny will be at peace.”
Isaac watched the smile in Brittany’s eyes, and his lips twitched slightly.
After living in the hospital for over a month, Isaac’s health had substantially recovered.
Brittany was discharged earlier than him. After her discharge, she found out that Natalie had been sentenced to seven years in prison. The Palmer family had also prepared some compensation as an apology.
Brittany didn’t want to make a big fuss with the Palmer family.
And Joseph Palmer took the initiative to visit her. “Ms. Dustin, I’m deeply sorry about the previous incident.”
“I didn’t do anything to Natalie.” Brittany leaned back in her leather chair. “But Natalie attacked me. I wouldn’t want such an incident to occur again.”
“Rest assured, Natalie won’t have any chances.”NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
