Thalia’s pov

I sat on the bed watching Josh lose his mind. I had no idea how Brandon was managing to place

cameras everywhere they went but I was glad I was able to follow all the updates.

It was satisfying to watch the stup*d man panicking and losing it and the icing on the cake was the fact

that he had no idea that we were watching him.

Both Jessica and Victor looked like a mess, all their expensive clothes and jewelry that they bought

with my money seemed to itch against their flesh, they stopped putting them on and only wore plain

comfortable clothing.

Gentex was receiving lawsuits from all corners of the world. Somehow Brandon had managed to

malfunction even the products that were sold overseas. I could only imagine how much money that

cost.

I doubt the Nelsons were even sleeping, the other day Josh went into his office with the same suit. He

looked all scruffy and his beards were a mess and all over the place.

I bet his hair was as smelly as mine was, I wanted him to pass through all the phases of hell that I went

through.

I wanted him to know that hell was real, just like I felt and found out. I bet they had planned a perfect

life after they were married but all that came crumbling down all thanks to Brandon. He promised to

give him the test of a very worse hell.

The couple was supposed to be enjoying their honeymoon but they were dirty, probably smelling like

sh*t and trying to hold on to the rags of Gentex that Brandon was going to leave them with.

I trusted Brandon completely, he assured me he had a strategy to revive my company and rebrand it

for me.

He was somewhat beginning to scare the living life out of me, the man was dying but he was still if not

the most powerful and untouchable man in the world. No one even dared to help Josh, Brandon had

made sure of that.

While Josh was busy guessing who was sabotaging his company, the culprit was busy exercising for

our sex deal though I had noted a drastic change in his mood.

He was in one of the rooms busy working out. The Jerk was eager to have sex with me after I delivered

my baby which I was yet to get confirmation if the first procedure worked.

I had no idea whether to laugh or feel sorry for him. I only made a deal with him to see if he really

wanted to have sex with me.

It was some kind of joke, to be honest. But to my shock he began working up early every morning,

doing his morning run and simple exercises.

At first, I gave him a day, thinking he was going to give up due to tiredness or fatigue, three days

elapsed and he went on exercising.

I noticed that during those three days he never lost consciousness or had an episode. Maybe

exercising was the trick, we were going to hold on and watch. But one thing I noted was that he

distanced himself from me, unlike other days where he was all over me and trying to eat my cleavage

or sleep with me.

Somehow I missed the attention, I couldn’t hide that fact. I had no idea why he chose to distance

himself, maybe it was because time was catching up with him and he did not want me to be attached to

him. Somehow I had gotten used to the unpredictable Brandon.

I looked up the screen and Josh talking about Melisa and Derrick got my attention. Somehow his tired

useless brain thought my father’s old allies were behind the sabotage.

I almost burst out laughing, my father’s ghost was haunting him, no matter how hard he had earlier

tried to portray himself as a free man.

I quickly got up and ran to Brandon’s Gym room. In the weeks I had been staying in the house I had

gotten to know the ins and outs of all the rooms.

I walked in and found him seated on the treadmill, he looked so tired and defeated. His eyes looked like

he was from crying, they were swollen red, or maybe he had been scratching them or something.

On any given day I would have burst out laughing, teasing him but he looked miserable. I felt sorry for

him, I felt really sad. He was really trying to beat the disease but it was knocking him back, flat a*s.

I walked to the mill and took a seat.

“I think you should call it a day,” I said to him but he only maintained his gaze on the floor. This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.

“Brandon?” I called again.

“I have exactly less than a week,” he said, his face still fixed on the floor.

“I have a week to test for the pregnancy,” I said, ignoring his statement. He looked up at me and gave

me a fake smile. “I have given my detailed outlines of the plan to Nestor should I kick the bucket,” he

stated.

I rolled my eyes. He was talking like he had given up already. I was not going to believe that he was

dying. I held his hand and said, “You are not going anywhere, you are going to be there till the end of

the plan,” I stated.

He quickly let go of my hand and looked away. Yes, I was giving him force hope and I knew it was not

fair on his part.

“What do you want?” he asked?

“I Beg your pardon?” I replied, confused.

“Why were you looking for me?” he asked.

I only stared at him, I forgot the reason why I had walked all the way to the gym. He gave out the fake

smile again, it was irritating that he could not even give out a genuine smile. “Did you miss me that

much?” he asked.

I quickly hit the back of his head knowing full well why I was looking for him. Josh was going after

Melissa and Derick.

We needed to find a way for the two of them to lie on my behalf. I was very sure they were not under

his parole and I was very much sure that they couldn’t accept to be put on his payroll.

He chuckled and asked for my phone where he wrote a text to them and asked me to wait.

I was very nervous and had no idea what he sent but her massage quickly popped up. She vowed to

inform Josh that they had not seen me or communicated with me.

She wanted to give him the impression that I was dead. Brandon on the other end was going to delete

all traces and evidence of me ever talking to the couple.

I smiled, the man in front of me had solutions to every problem. I was very impressed. He ordered me

to help him get up as we both walked to the bedroom

I was curious so asked. “how did you manage to put cameras in Josh’s company? Last time we talked,

you said the security was tight?”

“You should have met the old Brandon Fraser, nothing was impossible. I bought their security firm,” he

replied and grabbed some files handing them to me. “Time to go back to work,” he said.

I smiled on the part of the security firm, somehow I became curious as to how much he had already

spent at the expense of my revenge. But I frowned on the part of going to work, if there was something

that I hated, it was working in Mandel.

I could not help but feel that he was setting me up for his company while destroying mine. I had

stopped arguing with him some days ago because that was not the last picture that I wanted him to

have of me.

He was only remaining with a few days on earth, we all knew that and he knew it. The sadness that I

first saw hovering over his head was back.

I had tried cheering him on but like I earlier stated he had begun distancing himself away from me. And

he had begun marking the stup*d calendar again.

I grabbed the files and began going through them. Just like last time Nestor came and picked me up. I

was reluctant to leave Brandon alone at first, knowing full well what happened the last time we had left

him alone.

But there was no choice. I needed to talk with the board before they began hatching plans again. To be

on the safe side, I arranged with Nestor to only drop me off at the offices while he returned to babysit.

I took my bath and wore the most revealing purple dress in the closet, which showed off all my assets,

especially the cleavage that Brandon loved about me. But he only took one glimpse and looked away.

Deep down it hurt, I missed the old p*rvert Brandon, he was more cheerful and would have passed a

lot of silly comments. It was not like I was trying to seduce him, I just wanted to leave a smiling

Brandon.

But it was like I was not going to see his smile ever again. The stup*d days were catching up on him no

matter how hard he tried to run. He was tired of running, it looked like he just sat there waiting for death

to grab him.

We were supposed to be toasting every second of Josh’s downfall but he rarely even looked up on the

screen. Yes, he was busy on his tablet with his men tearing every part of Gentex into shreds but the

zeal that he earlier had of mocking Josh was gone.

I said my goodbye but he only waved and looked away his eyes fixed on his useless tablet. I stood

there waiting for him to look up but he did not.

Not even when he was very much away that I was in the room. He did not even bother reminding me of

the time. It was very irritating, especially that there was nothing that I could do to cheer him up.

The door opened and Nestor who I could only assume had gotten tired of waiting outside walked in. He

first stared at me from bottom to down, giving me the look that I was expecting from Brandon.

He was struck numb and frozen at the door. Brandon looked behind at him and noticed but him staring

but he only looked away.

The old Brandon would have rendered all mother of insults at him and fired him but he only looked

away and went on with whatever he was doing on his tablet.

Nestor noted Brandon’s reaction and cleared his throat. “Thalia, we are running late,” he said. I turned

almost bumping into him before I exited the room, irritated. I could hear him following me from behind in

silence, I got in p*ssed almost smashing the door hard.

Instead of opening the pilot doorway, he opened mine. “Thalia if you lose it, he will lose it too,” he

stated.

I shrugged, the man in front of me definitely had no life. I turned and faced him, “Why do you behave

like my stup*d elder brother when it is obvious you would pay your entire savings to f**k me?” I asked

in a serious tone.

He chuckled and was about to walk to his seat but I yelled at him to answer the dumb questions. He

stopped and turned, “I miss the old Thalia, you are slowly turning into toxic Brandon!” he replied.

My heart ached as I got off the helicopter and hit him. He grabbed me and pinned me against the

plane. His heart beating fast and his breath heavy.

“You want him dead, don’t you!” I yelled at him.

“You want him dead so that you can have me for yourself!” I added. I was very much aware of the way

he looked at me from day one. The problem with him and Brandon was that they thought I was

brainless.

“You are full of sh*t, ain’t you? Let me pump some sense into you,” he finally replied. “If I was given a

gun to shoot between you and Brandon, I would shoot you without blinking.

My loyalty will always remain with Brandon. Get into the f**king helicopter and do some work for once! ”

he yelled at me. I froze for some seconds only staring at him.

“Your useless revenge is all he worries about and keeps him and most of us awake.

You are the only one that sleeps without giving a sh*t, yes you have some good t*ts that are refreshing

for him and everyone to look at but is that all you will ever offer him up to his last breath?” he retorted.

My tongue became tired as I continued staring at him, his words cut deep, and a flood of tears hung in

my eyelids waiting to flood my face. He was hundred percent correct, I was just a set of t*ts to Brandon

and had nothing to offer him while he spent nights on his tablet avenging my enemies.

A voice cleared from behind us and Nestor quickly let go of me. It was Brandon and he had a serious

face on.

We had no idea how long he was standing there or if he had heard anything. He walked to where I was

standing completely ignoring Nestor who had a face full of regret. He stood next to me, reached his

hand into his pocket, and removed an earpiece.

He slowly connected it for me saying; “I forgot to give you this, in case you forget anything and this time

I will not go dark on you,” he said.

I only stared at him, trying so hard to push the tears within me. He moved closer and kissed me on my

cheek, saying how beautiful I looked before trailing his eyes all over my Cleavage, he smiled.

A genuine smile that I had not seen for days but it came at the wrong minute. He turned and walked

away edging us to go before we lost time standing outside like statues.
