Chapter 126
Chapter 126
The warriors turned up in their numbers at the gym and were being supervised by Beta Aiden. Somehow, he felt better after accepting his loss, and training even helped to make it faster.
Just like his Alpha, he also had not found
smate and could not stop thinking about Bree since that day, especially the kiss.
All he had was her name, having no contact or any idea that she was not from the Shadow Pack.
When he went to find her later, it was hard to even locate the homes of the girls he saw her with, and with time, he had to accept that perhaps they were not meant to be.
Who would have thought that she was the only sister of Alpha Nick Thorax? Well, even if he had found Bree, it was obvious that his Alpha would have still taken her from him because they were destined mates.
Everything was going well until Alpha Ansaldo arrived. It was just a few days since he traveled, but the pack members' excitement of seeing their Alpha was heartwarming.
However, not everybody could be happy to see him, especially when there was a woman by his side.
Confusion settled in their minds as all eyes focused on Bree and no longer on Alpha Ansaldo. Bree was slightly nervous due to some of the hostile gazes of the pack members.
It reminded her of the day Alpha Nick married Sheridan. Every time she experienced something like that, she could not relate it to what she did not learn from Sheridan.
Then again, she regretted so late that she did not get the chance to learn as much from Sheridan as she would have.
"It has been a great joy for me, and I know it would be for you all. Who knew that I was going to find my mate at the Dark Moon Pack when I went there for business?"
Alpha Ansaldo was so proud of his mate; it reflected in his voice and even shone in his eyes. Murmurs were soon heard.
"The Alpha found his mate?" One of the she-wolves asked the one beside her, not amused by the news, though it wasn't confirmed.
They all wanted to be mated or married to their Alpha by contract, as it was done in other packs.
"That is what it seems," one of them responded. Most of the she-wolves did not look happy. It was as if Alpha Ansaldo did not care or was not seeing the expressions their faces as he continued to speak.
"Bree Thorax is our Luna, and her coronation would be in two weeks. I will allow you some time after training to get acquainted with her."
No one was interested in the first name, but the sound of the second name caused a layer of curiosity to be formed in their minds. "Alpha, is she related to Alpha Nick?" One of the warriors asked. Alpha Ansaldo responded in the affirmative.
"Yes. She's his only sister."
Now, they began to look at Bree with interest. All packs wanted allies with the strongest, and the River Bed pack was no different.
"Does it mean we have an ally with the Dark Moon Pack?" Another warrior asked. Though knowing the probability, a confirmation mattered as well.
"Automatically, yes."
Alpha Ansaldo's confirmation to the question and the clearing of their negativity caused their eyes of contempt to now be filled with admiration.
"Welcome, Luna Bree," they began to say. Bree blushed a little, as the attention accorded to her was too much.
Back in her pack, she was never in the front line, always at the back. Since she was going to be coronated in two weeks, she had
no choice but to overcome her insecurities very quickly and adjust to her new life.
"Thank you."
Bree looked around, and her eyes rested on a separated group, timid-looking. Her attention directed at Alpha Ansaldo as he asked, "Who are those?"
"The weak warriors. They could not graduate from any of the stages to be assigned any responsibility, so they will join the omegas training."
Alpha Ansaldo did not hide anything from her. Not everyone was as strong as the others, and packs had to understand that before pushing the weak warriors to their death.
"Can I take charge of the omega and weak warriors training?" Bree suddenly asked before lowering her head.
She feared that going too fast might make them think that she was up to something. Alpha Ansaldo shook his head.
He personally tried to train them, but that also did not yield any fruits.
"Why should you waste time on them? You will be in charge of the strong warriors," he spoke preferably, but Bree insisted, recalling that her sister-in-law would be there to help her. "No. I prefer the weak ones," Bree curtly said. Alpha Ansaldo could not refuse.
When training ended, a lot of congratulatory messages met Bree, and after returning to the pack house and having her lunch, she put a call through to Sheridan.
"Is everything okay?" Sheridan asked as soon as she answered the call. However, she was happy to not be welcomed with problems.
"I need help," Bree said directly. Sheridan was uncomfortable. Nick was quite suspicious, and being mates now, she won't be surprised if he catches them this time.
"Again?" Sheridan asked seriously. Bree explained in the same serious tone.
"It's not in that sense. I want you to guide me in training some weak warriors."
A relief sigh escaped Sheridan at the end of the line. "Alright. When do you want to start?" guessing that Bree was being taken for granted, she was willing to help. "Right now," Bree revealed.
"Okay."
From then on, Bree would constantly call Sheridan for guidance, but on the third day when she called, Sheridan did not answer the phone.
Worried, Bree called her brother, but still, the phone was not answered. Then she called her parents too, but none of them answered the phone either.
It was too strange to be an accident or coincidence, so she confided in Ansaldo, since her heart would not stop beating.
"I have not been able to get in touch with anyone at my old pack. I think there is a problem."
Alpha Ansaldo was not worried much, knowing that Alpha Nick was capable of taking care of his pack.
"Are you suggesting that we go there to find out, or should I call a neighboring pack to check for you?" He asked upon seeing the worried look in her eyes.
"A neighboring pack would do for now," Bree replied, not wanting to cause Alpha Ansaldo any more trouble.
Alpha Ansaldo made a few calls, and his expression changed. When Bree noticed it, she was greatly disturbed.noveldrama
"What is the matter?" Bree asked worriedly.
What do you think?
